Surprised not to see a thread on this already, so thought I would start one.

Great start last night!!!

What are your thoughts on today's game, any dark horses for winners?

Spain v Croatia at 5pm looks the pick of the day, also be interested to see how Italy get on v Albania.

As for the first game, it doesn't really get the pulses going Swiss v Hungary, but will have it on regardless.

It's always surprised me how untrendy/unfancied Switzerland are as a team.

Given that they've spent a lot of the last ten years in the FIFA Top Ten Rankings (peaking at #4) they never seem to have received the attention of the likes of Portugal, Italy, Germany etc.

I think it has a lot to do with constant underperforming at tournaments and they have never exactly been an exciting team to watch. We will soon find out.

Hope we have a good tournament, watching England over the last year or so has been less entertaining than watching Charlton over the same period and that really is saying something.

Tbf the results for England have been better, excepting Iceland of course, that was more like us!!!

Hoping for a decent ref as they tend to be physical, can see Bellingham getting some stick.

I want to see us play with a high tempo. Like Germany did against Scotland. We tend to focus on keeping the ball at times and slowly moving it.

If we want to create anything then we need the high tempo.

Bit concerned about the size of our defence without Maguire. Serbia are a big team and with the likes of Mitrovic, they are always going to be a threat, especially in the air. Maybe start Gomez LB for more height?

Interest to see how we line up. Bellingham alongside Rice or further forward? Foden starting? He’s only scored like one goal in 30+ games for England I think I read the other day. Wouldn’t mind Gordon starting as they have attacking wingbacks.

Totally agree about the high tempo, it's been lacking since the world cup.

Good game so far, Poland giving it a real good go and have just taken the lead……

Apparently Velkovic played 3 games for us in 2015 on loan from Spuds until a shoulder injury ruled him out for the rest of the season...
