England’s performance was disappointing. Foden was ineffective on the left, and Trent’s casual play, thinking he is Pirlo, did not work. With Southgate at the helm, this team seems unlikely to win anything.

yep, something missing, the manager is too slow to react to the situation doesn't help. Kane looked slow, Foden ineffective, Trent has a mistake in him, guehi out of position a few times, but a win, need Shaw back to give us some drive up that side too, but maybe rest for another game as no need to rush him back with three points on the board.

Pretty awful game that. Pretty much what I expected though. Tempo wasn't high enough. We just wanted to keep the ball and slowly pass it around, albeit not to Kane.

Possibly the worse game I've seen from Kane. Was never up with the play when we broke with any pace. He never seemed to be where you needed him until that header, which was a great save tbf.

All about the result first up…..the most encouraging aspect was the performance of the back four which did ok but will be our Achilles heal in this tournament especially when better sides play through us……Just don’t understand Foden, how he can be a world beater for City but poor for England, he should definitely been hooked…. offered very little…..We were crying out to get the ball to Saka as much as possible in that first half but just went side to side and then backwards…..Surely Cole Palmer can offer a bit more creativity in the Denmark game….

Foden was poor but he needs an overlapping or underlapping full back when he plays on the left. Trippier stifled his play and most of our play down the left side when he kept cutting back on his right foot. Gordon would have been better with Trippier for that game and Foden coming on as sub for Bellingham.
We really need Shaw back asap!

Jammy French gits. Could be a goal down and then score when a corner should have been given the other way. Still the commentators are happy as they can carry on getting boners over how brilliant France are.

Don’t think Kane was the issue, think it was our midfield. Defence did its job and apart from a couple of shots Serbia had their wasn’t any clear cut chances.

My issue that we wasn’t pressing enough and we struggled to keep the ball at times. When we go on the counter attack we feel something is happening then a ridiculous mis-placed pass happened which was frustrating.

Yeah that's fair enough. He was pretty anonymous due to not ever being in the right place though.

We also didn't run with the ball enough. Too much pass and move (or not move as it were). When the likes of Saka ran at defence we caused problems but we didn't do it enough. We looked like th eEngland teams afraid to lose the ball again to me. Pre-Southgate

I think Southgate has a big decision to make with Foden, im one if his biggest admirers but for England he doesn't gamble enough, way to Conservative.

Like most people I'd like to see us run at defences even if we lost the ball now and then.
We pass across the pitch so much it gives teams a chance to organise the defence against us.

Completely agree. We need to play more risky football in the opponents half in order to unlock them. Let the players enjoy themselves and not worry if they lose it. Chase back if they do!
