Unfortunately loyalty is a dying character trait. And not just where the riches of football are concerned. I'm sure he hasn't been hired for his loyalty though. Exactly, if any manager doing well in the lower leagues have a chance to move higher up the ladder, 99% of them will. it works both ways, managers get sacked quick enough, so most will move for more money, just as players do. Lets see how well he does first though before worrying about losing him!. If he can help us win the next game, that's a good start..

How many players here has he worked with before I wonder?
PS He signed Louie Watson so hopefully will give him a proper run at AM.
-----
Manager Nathan Jones said: “Louie for me is a typical Luton signing. We are getting him at the right age.
“He’s had a good grounding at West Ham, then gone to Derby and broken through there. Derby have done really well with young players, so he caught our eye, we’ve monitored him and when the opportunity came to try and do it, we did.
“You can see his desire to want to get on and develop, but to establish himself at this level first. For me, that’s typical Luton. We have players who are hungry, who want to get to the next level. It doesn’t matter what age they are. They come here and they want to do well. Louie is exactly that.
“He’s a good technical midfield player who is absolutely nowhere near his ceiling, and we are, in God’s will going to get him closer.”

Didn't think much to him at all in the short time we had him. Looked very limited. Guessing he's improved since he's been at wrexham?

I thought he was average, at best, with us. Sure, he will look good in the National League and League Two but I think we need to be looking for better players, personally.

I thought Elliot Lee started really well for us and showed alot of quality, then seemed to drift off. What did he say about the club after he left?!.

In the form of his life and scoring some unbrlievable goals. Saw the Blackburn v Wrexham game and Christ, they are awful. I’ve seen milk turn faster than the entire Wrexham back 4, and as for that tall black goalkeeper they’ve got - he makes AMB look like Gordon Banks.

In the form of his life and scoring some unbrlievable goals. In that case, I can't see him wanting to come back here. As for what he said about the club when the left, the only negative things were about the then owners, nothing bad about the club and the fans.

Great appointment in my eyes, if he can replicate what he did with Luton then the future is bright. I think as fans we may have to accept things won't change straight away and we'll have to give him all our backing through a tough period. Will be interesting to see what happens with Fleming and Pearce, and of course Scott. I hope we keep hold of Fleming and Pearce but sometimes the whole lot needs changing to move forward?. That's the ask, isn't it? Galvanise and improve the squad as well as build the culture at our club. There will be 2,500+ away fans at his first game giving him a fantastic reception. Let's hope it goes well and that we might all show a little patience. The reality is that SE7 Partners and the parent GFP have owned CAFC for just over six months. Many mix up the terms strategy, tactics and execution. The club have shared the vision of returning to the Championship but it's hard to know exactly who has been doing what behind the scenes. And it's equally hard to really judge the squad with all the disappointment of this winless run. Ideally we secure a win soon AND we enjoy Jones making sense of players available - helps that he has managed some of them before and that he has a track record of an effective press etc. Let's see how we go in this last third of the season. As posted before, half the squad are either loans or out of contract so there's plenty of opportunity to introduce new talent and/or reward those who put in decent performances over the next few months.

Eggs and chickens and all of that. If we trust Nathan Jones as a coach and in his judgement of players and respect his ability to set up and motivate a team, then we might be about to find out a bit more about our players. Who can play and who can’t. Who was a good signing and who was a dud. I’m not qualified to make predictions beyond suggesting that we might be in for a few surprises. Some positive. And some not so positive perhaps.

Genuinely surprised on this occasion that you haven’t positively welcomed both Jones’ appointment as manager, AND the fact that we have sold out at Reading on Saturday (are you going ?).

I'm cautiously optimistic about the signing. This one of several things that has to go right.
CAFC has not always had bad managers over the past decade. Robinson and Adkins may not have been successful. They may not have been the right men at the right time. But they were/are not horrible football men. There are many things to make right at the club.

Hoping our players possess the ability to listen and put in a genuine effort for Jones on Saturday. It's crucial for them to start earning their wages by playing football, a privilege that many fans would love to have. A run of 12 games without a win in League 1 is, frankly, a disgrace, irrespective of the manager.

These players aren't going to know what's hit them, hopefully we stay up and the summer a massive rebuild.

Thanks for posting....I'm pleased that he's been appointed as I think he fits the profile of CAFC. I couldnt help but feel a sense of deja vue in terms what a big club we are etc, as we've heard this before with the last 3 managers. I guess it's over saturation of the same theme that's driven this initial observation
