So is it Sandgaard in now?
Ipswich signed him, we all expected them to do great but they have been nearly as bad as us this season. And we totally outplayed them in our head-to-head.

Hi Reams, I watch plenty of games but I don't study it. Where/what is his best position? I have writing about Fraser on here for over two years KHA and that's all people need to know. I know his game inside out, it's almost been an obsession, I rate him that much. Apparantly though Gallen has become an overnight hero though for doing his job. I wasn’t doubting you, I was, genuinely, asking how we would need to line up to make the most out of him?

I know nothing about him. Hope he turns out to be as good as everyone is saying.

Not from me, far from it. Ok we've signed a very good footballer today, arguably the best of the TS era but it's taken four windows to do it and we have gone backwards as a result. He has my thanks for bringing Fraser in but he is the type of player we should be signing, nothing less. I dont get the TS cheer leaders coming on here today and digging out his critics just because he's done what he should have been doing a year ago.

Very happy to see a quality player through the door, especially on a decent contract. Well done to all involved.

Whilst I begrudgingly accept that TS is a bit of a weirdo. He is at least starting to lay down some wedge. I always maintained that this season is a learning curve and we can write it off. Stability and growth are key here. So let’s see what JJ can do with these guys and look in the summer to improve the squad and give it all for next season.
TS did say it was a 5 year plan after all.

To match his 5 year plan we would have to match our performance in the 1930s of rising from the 3rd tier to first in consecutive seasons.

That's Kirk, Lavelle, Aneke and Fraser in the last six months then. Some may say it's not enough, and of course they don't always work out, but it does show a willingness to spend some money when the deal is right. Kirk has already failed & left, Lavelle is out long term injured, and we gave Aneke away for nothing 6 months before we re-signed him. #GallenOut "Lavelle is out long term" - Er... Jackson confirmed he is back training with the squad and has played U23 to build fitness. How exactly do you 'give someone away' if they refused to sign a contract because they wanted to pay in the league above?

As for Aneke - the first club in history to buy back a player who didn’t want to be here 6 months ago. It’s indefensible.

I'd be happy to emulate Leicester City's 8-year plan.
2008 they were relegated to the 3rd tier for the first time in their history 2009 they went straight back up 2010 I think it was when they got to the playoff final but Yann Kermogant dinked his penalty?
so nearly back-to-back promotions but..
2014 Leicester finally get promoted 2016 they win the Premier League.

Great signing, a player to build the midfield around... now just need a lot more and then stop trying to offload homegrown talent that aren't even established yet...

He wasn't much cop when he was fit either. We managed to win just two of the nine games in which he featured, I think - and in one of those he was substituted after half an hour and we scored the winner after Pearce had replaced him.

Great signing and not before time, it's over a year now since I first mentioned him on here. Still plenty of dead wood to get shot of including some of those listed above. I would say that this is at last a marquee signing and is a bit of a head turner, all we need do now is play him in his favourite position where we know he can hurt teams. Mistakes have been made as recently as last summer but it appears remedies are being put in place. With Aneke & Fraser both signed until 2025 as well. Tell us more about Fraser both before and after we watch him play next Saturday and let's see how our midfield evolves. And just like 2014 and 2017/18 there are plenty of players running down contracts - perhaps only three or four are extended? So there's the potential for seven or eight new signings over the summer. Conversely we would all love to keep Burstow but his likely progression means he could easily go to an EPL club then be loaned back to us or even a Championship club next season?! Above everything else, if Jackson returns us to winning ways with these new signings plus the best of what we gad before Christmas then we can climb into the top half... then climb again next September.

Lavelle has been out 10 weeks yes, but now is back training with the first team squad, he is not "out long term"... It was a freak injury and he had played consistently for Morecambe without real injury problems. As a club and fanbase we seem to have a weird fascination with former players, ones who didn't do much for us or flattered to deceive during a short purple patch. People were calling out that we hadn't replaced Aneke, often saying 'we need someone big, strong, fast and can score like Aneke' but then complain when we actually get back the player they were clamoring for!?!? The whys and hows of Aneke coming back we will never know. I believe we offered what we could, possibly his agent told Brum what we were able to offer and they would only have to match it (wages, signing on fee) and say "do you want to play Champ or L1?" Relatively easy choice. I think we have just taken over his Brum terms.

Wow! Thanks for that... Is out vs was out - It was being implied that Lavelle was an injury prone crock who we wasted money on. He had a freak injury (same one Pearce had) and is now back in the squad. During that period you refer to I don't think really any of our players really came out with any credit. We resorted to Gunter/Matthews/Clare playing out of position and we have both Lavelle and Innis back to supplement the squad.

My understanding is that when recently interviewed Sam indicated that this is his first long term injury and up to then had been injury free since becoming a pro footballer. These things happen.

Potentially a very good signing. I was very impressed by Fraser when MK Dons won 1-0 at the Valley last season. He was a key cog in what I felt was a good MK Dons side which played attractive passing football.
I’m a bit puzzled that Ipswich have allowed him to move on though it might be that the owners (The Arizona State Pension Fund) are already beginning to demand some financial discipline. It’s also interesting that Russell Martin appears not to have made a move for him.
The key will be what role he’s given and how he works with the players around him. Time will tell.
Good luck Scott.

I'll be very disappointed if he doesn't start today. Harsh to drop anyone following Portsmouth game, starting on the bench would be better. Not a fan but Morgan has been playing better recently, Dobson and Gilbey bring different things to the team that we need!
