Only one game, but a difficult one. 1-1. I really hope the board are not too hasty in appointing a new manager.. let’s await future results. At present Curtis Fleming has the baton, speaks well, has passion, has experience, has football tactics. Could this be OUR MAN for the future?

Fleming isn’t the answer this season we we’re lucky today he can stay at the club though.

Doubt we would attract the right quality of players into the club before the deadline with Fleming carrying on in the role Players would like to know who the coach is before they commit to coming to us

Its a no for me, imo it was another poor team selection, I know L Watson isn’t the answer but it would be interesting to see how many points we have gained when he has started to when he hasn’t.

Being a few points from safety there's no way the club will gamble on him though. Edit. He managed Punjab FC...not sure that will push forward his case though!

Holden got sacked because he wasn’t good and his coaching style was nonexistent not because he wanted to play 3-5-2… No of what you suggested is evidence of Scott being involved in the tactic side of things. Please can you quote or link me to this being apparent? Sick of people making up shit about Scott because he’s got two manager appointments wrong. He got them wrong that’s the end of it. He needs to improve or he should go. Holden produced 1.38 PPG, solid midtable form even including the cr*p start to this season when he had no players. Last season he produced near play-off form (1.52 PPG). He wasn't elite by any means but if you're going to sack him you'd better have a better alternative in mind than Michael bleedin' Appleton. The last four months have been absolutely catastrophic. Bizarre how he hasn’t another job since? Shipped off to Saudi where he belongs. He’s a motivator not a football manager. Agreed however. We should have had a solid replacement in line for his departure. For that, Scott and the SMT have a lot to answer for!

QPR v Huddersfield got anything to do with the hold up? Candidates we might've approached awaiting to see if one of these two blink and change again?
Glad to see Rowett amongst those being talked about.

I’m going to stick £100 on Redknapp, watch his odds tumble and pretend to be in the know for a few hours! 😂

Have we actually approached and interviewed any of these candidates yet. Duff? Nathan Jones? And the name of Eustace has been mentioned but has anyone at the club even approached him about joining?
Personally I'd consider keeping Andy Scott as part of player recruitment but might want a senior head of coaching.

Interest has cooled in Neil, don't know why but he was way out in front on Friday. Haven't been in the loop for two days as been to Cheltenhm for the weekend and yesterdays racing. Only message I have is Caleb Taylor is going to Bolton on loan but very coy on the manager front which they ahve to be I suppose.
Not sure about Wrburton. Nice bloke and that but I think he is a btter coach than leader of men. Might get first dibs on West Ham's second string though!

As of last Friday, four had been interviewed with one of the candidates being stand-out. He impressed but not sure who it is. I assumed it was Alex Neil based on the Sunderland connection and we seemed to be leaning in that direction but I assume something has come up in the small print for nothing to have happened as yet.

I obviously PRAY it doesn't happen.
But we need a manager who will be on board no matter what happens,we are in a dogfight make no mistake.
NJ has history and an active example of foundations he's laid at Luton, clear identity and has taken them through leagues before.
Rowett would also be good IMHO,as I think he would bring it back to solidity and address our soft underbelly.
Good luck AS,this appointment can't be botched, and the clock is ticking.

Regarding the choice of next manager. A few points need to be taken into account. 1) Ability to manage in this league. 2)Proven record 3) Getting the best out of the assets we gave at our disposal 4) A progressive and not regressive playing style. We don’t want two hours of boredom. 5) A ability to see how to use our best assets - like all good managers do.
My choice would be Michael Duff, Mark Warburton and Nathan Jones in this order.

Honestly have to say I'd be okay with 2 hours of boredom for the next 17 games as long as it keeps us up. However, this is Scott's last coaching hire at CA, so he knows he needs to get it right. He has a resume to protect as well.

Interesting you say you would keep on Scott as part of the recruitment, what are you basing this opinion out of interest mate? If I was the American owners my first priority would be to head hunt the best recruitment person/ team available to ensure my money is being spent wisely on players….. the crude fact of the matter is that we have a top six budget yet we are in a relegation battle and that can’t be all down to the managers we have had this season

I’d like Jones,Rowett or Warnock 18 month deal all 3 would move us forward Ideal world we announce someone tomorrow who has already indicated a player or two that they would like brought in before the window closes so we have a couple of days to work on them. I just feel our squad is just so unbalanced . I woud also help with a bit more positivity going into the weekend. We are charlton we shouldn’t be underdogs in 90% of fixtures in this bloody league
