Cawley throwing Warnock into the frame Small world. Five years ago I was contacted by the Walesonline to discuss the job Warnock was doing at Cardiff. I met him and he's a nice guy, I think short term until the summer would be a good thing to be honest. Here's the interview anyway but two things to point out. It is from 2018 and in it I refer to Cardiff City as 'us' simply because I am reflecting back to 1992/93, when professionally it was, despite me being a Charlton fan since 1983. Between 1993 and 2000 I worked for the owner coaching around the local schools on behalf of the club and at his Barry Island Holiday resort where I was kitted out in a Cardiff City tracksuit morning, noon and night which went down well with the single Mothers!!! Just to point out too that I work in social care nowadays as a Senior Support Worker. My days as a fresh produce manager at Sainsbury's ended four years ago. That's for the benefit of a poisonous little dwarf who looks in to ITTV despite not being able to post. www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/neil-warnock-eddie-may-cardiff-14599816

Very impressed with Curtis Fleming and his comments this afternoon. I know it’s only words at this stage, but great to have a bloke with a bit of passion & charisma at the helm on Saturday. The squad need to fully understand what is expected of them and the concept of professional pride in a job well done. Our other problem is that too many of the new arrivals looked very undercooked on Tuesday ☹️

Nathan Jones was in the stands at Bournemouth today. Has a friendship I believe with the Swansea sporting director.

I have just read on another fans forum that Scott Parker (now connected to Plymouth) could be available This reader is a bit bemused as to why Charlton supporters have not mentioned him ,and i think he may have a point,But goes on to say that his ego wouldn;t cope with a drop down to us,But if it were up to ego only, which manager would come to us at this point in time ? IMO there are basically two things that may bring a manager to our, club that would overcome an ego problem And they are, the obvious,Money and two Someone who has the blood of the club in their heart, and is also up for a massive challenge.A combination of both would be a Godsend. Whether that peson has the man management and strategic technical nous is another thing I know very little about SP, only that he was a tenacious tackler, to winning the ball, and setting up the attack, This is to me, a plus that would relate to his attitude to management, Secondly i think that, like me, who only knew snippets of his caracter,so there for i am probably wrong. is that he dudded Charlton, and left for Chelski. Lets be honest here, how many young, up and coming players, have left Charlton for better prospects, over the years? I dont know the situaton, as it happened
I would be interested in supporters opinions on an approach for S P

I'd have Parker back, Chelski offered him a shed load of money to what he was on at Charlton, what would you do?

It would be interesting to discover how many people label him as Judas without ever witnessing him play in a Charlton shirt?

Parker signed a 5 year contract the summer before, there were issues around so called promises made. Curbs dropped him and made him train away from first team. It cost us that season.
We are fickle, but it’s not that he left, it’s the way he left. I’m not sure he would unite the masses, that’s what we need right now, the whole club pulling together with some positivity.

When he left we were 4th in the table, a couple of points above Liverpool and Newcastle who were 5th and 6th but may well have caught us up anyway that season, it's not like we had a massive lead.
Even if Charlton Athletic were not my team I think it is terrible that a small club can have their chances of a dream season taken away by the big cartel snapping up their good players mid-season. Chelsea were already quite far ahead of us so were always going to finish in a Champions League place and were fighting against Manchester United for who would finish 2nd behind Arsenal who were running away with it in their invincible season, with the other pretty much guaranteed to finish 3rd.
Of course Scott Parker sensed that at Chelsea he might win trophies. They did win the league the next year but he ended up not being a key member of their first team when Mourinho came in.
For manager I would say no, not for those reasons specifically but because I cannot see that he's really achieved as a first team coach and would have problems getting our players to do the right things, in particular in defence where we appear to have our main issues.
A lot of defending (as well as all aspects of play) is about positioning, timing and decision making (and sometimes pace). I used to play mostly in defence, primarily right-back. My skills on the ball were certainly lacking but I could be an effective enough defender if I got the other aspects right.

I don't think we are going from Michael Appleton to Scott Parker unfortunately. We are at the arse end of league one. I'd be surprised if any of the decent names being thrown about would want in to this.

I’ve always had a problem with Chelsea rather than scotty , to buy him and hardly play him - it ripped the heart from our team

I’d have Scotty back, all day long. People need grow up and move on. It’s been almost 20yrs Lots of individuals have shafted us over the past 20 years. Scott Parker wouldn’t be on the Top 20 on that list. Some need to “Move on”. The same applies to Powell.

Corey Blackett-Taylor has shafted us now, but he moved to a club that's far more likely to head upwards than our own, in a season where we are struggling against relegation and where he's played under poor coaching staff.
He clearly has talent but can also improve (particularly with his final ball) and maybe at a better club he'll get that.
Karlan Grant shafted us in our promotion season and his replacement was Josh Parker, but we managed a good run anyway and got promoted. Meanwhile the player has played mostly at Championship level, and of course that might have been where he'd have played for us had he stayed.
Chelsea also sort-of shafted us with Conor Gallagher but then we had just been taken over be ESI, and Lyle Taylor's issues may have had something to do with them too.

I was always a big fan of Scott Parker and put much more blame on Chelsea when he left, they showed a total lack of respect to us in the way they approached SP waving fistfuls of dollars. But I’m not sure he is yet ready for the nasty spitting and gouging scrap we have landed ourselves in,

I was told it's come down to Jones, Neil, Eustace and Duff.
The favourite could nicked Patrick Bauer from us. He owes us one, and hopefully will put right his wrong if he gets the job!!
