I can’t see this happening but really hope it does. Reams how confident are you that he has gone? 200%.

That certainly would be a promising start to the week, no point buying all these talented players if we haven’t got a manager to match

That is what I am hearing yes. Not come from any of my inside club sources but I am hearing Appleton has gone and it will be announced either tonight or tomorrow morning. Two names in the frame both of whom fans will be happy with I think. Not my choices of Jones or Rowatt but a step up on the last three or four managers we have had. Reflecting on this discussion we might stop to consider the challenges facing SE7 Partners, especially as there really is no such thing as certainty in football. And that's why so many follow the game, with a small % here on ITTV (and elsewhere) getting into the detail 24/7! We might have little in common with many fellow fans, but we surely all want what's best for our club. We’re all very disappointed by results so far this season. But that doesn’t mean we need to be angry though. It doesn’t mean we need to find someone to blame who we can then abuse. That’s exactly what some fans seem to want while others want SE7 to fail. But how exactly will that help us secure promotion back to the Championship? Instead, when the news is surely announced that Appleton is gone, let's breathe a collectibles sigh of relief. Rather than apply wisdom with hindsight, let's take a long hard look at who the shortlist consists AND the actual quality of our squad. For we're all old enough to remember winning plenty of games back in 2023 befpre these six nee players arrived. None of us have football coaching experience so we can't actually walk the walk, but we've watched thousands of games between us so we kinda know what a decent side looks like. And perhaps allow some space for some real insight to creep in, starting with Curbs & Minto on Charlton TV Today's mobile phones combined with social media enables us all to express emotions and reactions which is no bad thing. But it also allows us to gain perspective from the stats, from expert writers on the game and from those who comment upon our club. Our current SMT have far more experience than either Sandgaard or ESI. They are faced with the easy decision to sack Appleton as well as the vital and difficult process of lining up his replacement. Let's trust the SMT to do what they must - do we actually have any choice?!

I'll give you a clue. One of the names has worked closely with an MP who knows David Beckham in his last two jobs! Only sleuthing I could do turned up a current manager in the SPL - am I on the right path?

Great coup for ITTV.
Vital the replacement is an upgrade.
MA was appalling.

It would be hard to not be an upgrade on Apples with no disrespect meant but hopefully it’s someone sensible yes and not Pearce.

Look I'm not saying it will be him but his name has been linked and if reading forums has anything to go by he will be a popular choice but like I said it's far to early to be naming names. We can discuss it in hope rather than expectation. This particular guy hasn't managed in the SPL but he has done so outside of England and is currently without a club.

While we currently have a promising squad, there's a need for at least one more player to fill the potential gap if Fraser departs. On paper, the squad should attract a capable manager, break the current slump, and instill optimism for the upcoming season.

Would Warnock take it I’d have Bows back he’s a legend here and is a good manager with the right players our promotion year proved it.

There’s good capable managers out there this team is greatly underachieving I wouldn’t even mind Lampard got a point to prove got contacts. He’s a Londoner so would have to relocate.

As much as we all admire some of our former managers, we cannot go back! We need a fresh approach with no previous baggage. Hopefully AS will be looking at experienced managers who can organise our lot defensively!

Zidane Zidane, Conte, or Graham Potter in no particular order.
Cutis Fleming was an odd appointment then?

Just because he's the one I am focussing on doesn't mean to say he'll get the job, but the answer to your question is no.

In a weird way, you could argue we are a better prospect to managers now than we were when we appointed Appleton. Despite us sacking him (rumour has it) already. We should have a stronger squad with potentially more on the way. There are clearly funds available from the current owners if the right players are available. If you have faith you can manage the team to play at a level at least as good as the squad is then you’d be able to turn this season around and look really good about it. Despite it just being the standard the squad should be at. If you can get the squad to out perform their ability, then you’ll be laughing! Fans would be ecstatic too!

As long as he’s gone that’s the main thing our worst in the last 20 years maybe Fraeye was worse even Garner had good moments although was awful himself. Lost the fans and seemingly players laughed at fans it won’t end well.

If Appleton has been fired, this has got to be Andy Scott’s final throw of the dice at Charlton.
To hire & then fire two personal picks as manager within 12 months is indefensible, and he cannot and must not survive another major mistake.
The fanbase is watching you , Scott 👀

It’ll be nutty Nathan Jones won’t it. He’ll go full Ian Dowie and have them doing fucking ballet and all sorts. But if he gets results I’ll be his biggest fan. Anyone, just get us out of this poxy league!
