Anyone finding that this is weird that Sandgaard is in control of the transfers ?? Well as he still owns the club, who else would be in control?

Mendonca and Hunt was no spring chickens. They were both 28 when we signed them - Hunt had only turned 28 a week or so before he signed, and was a free transfer when we’d just been promoted to the Premier League. I do get your point but they were a little younger and neither of them was sold on - they both left for nothing. If May can fire us into the championship and hold his own there then it will look like a good signing but if not then Reams is right - £1.3m might looked like a lot of money.

Mendonca and Hunt was no spring chickens. Both ended their careers at Charlton. Worked miracles for us, best two strikers I have seen play for us but football was different then, Curbs a a decent budget, if it didn't work for either player he could have replaced them. These days your new players have to hit the ground running, you can only spend your money once.

I saw that earlier Scoham. They'll never get that for him. I know Twine has been injured but Burnley grossly overpaid for him and he's yet to prove he's good emough for Championship level let alone Premier League. Barton snorts more lines than Fowler, he knows he needs a complete rebuild at Rovers hence hiking what Collins is worth to fund it. They'll get a million tops which would be very affordable for us, except very frustratingly, we have got another striker on our books earning big money for doing nothing. As we've all been saying for sometime on here, we need to lose that wage somehow as it could be used to entice a striker to the club who isn't made of glass. It's another reason why we can't get involved with Dack.

Anyone finding that this is weird that Sandgaard is in control of the transfers ?? No not really. SE7 seem very relaxed with it so if it's not an issue for them then it isn't for me.

He has a contract till 2025 so suppose Rovers can play silly buggers with the price , don’t blame them ? Got no chance of getting it !!

As for TS still overseeing' transfers I don't have a problem with that. 🥲 There are some very good out of contract players out there waiting to be snapped up, Scott Banks for example. By the time the takeover is cleared he would have been gone.

May could play for another 5 seasons , he doesn’t have many miles on the clock either. Mcgoldrick is nearly 36 and he’s being spoken about being the greatest ever player to grace league 2.. I think we need to remember where we are at the moment and getting a 20 goal a season striker for 300k in his prime is a steal to me.

Yann Kermorgant was 29 when we signed him and went on to have the best years of his career during and after he left us. Although he was a different style to May.

If he is a 20 goal a season (next season) then yes it's very good business. He's not done that very often though, so it's a bit of a gamble in that respect. I agree we should be after him. We are desperate for a striker. In fact, we really need two minimum if we are going to be playing 2 up top. Getting May would be a good statement and hopefully encourage other potential signings.

The thing is, Holden wants to play a 4-3-3 so the question is would May be as affective in a three pronged attack?
I prefer strikers who have as many assists as they have goals and that's why I think we should look at Collins.

There is no sell on value so add his wages onto his fee and you are looking a 1m+ for a striker that we'll get one, possibly two good season out of.

Assuming we continue with 4-3-3 then the focus has to be on replacing Rak-Sakyi and adding to Fraser and Dobson in midfield. On top of that we've let a number of defenders go. Biggest question up front is how many games and goals we expect to see from Leaburn?

Only way Collins will come in is if Fraser goes back up to Scotland. They are similar players. Collins is a striker but plays more of a number 10 which is Scott's best position. We can't afford both as it would mean a high earner is sat on the bench.

May would not work in a 4-3-3 as I don't think he has enough pace and trickery to come inside effectively. Also if we go to two up top, Holden likes to play inverted wingers, so the supply for May's types of goals will dry up. He might get goals from Leaburn flicking on long balls but I don't want to see that type of football.

Did he play 4 3 3, due to the unbalanced squad, as his favourite system would seem to be 3 5 2 historically, another alleged in the know has posted that he now wants to play 4 4 2, with May and Leaburn up top, just really asking with all your conversations whether the preferred formation this year may have been mentioned.

Out of interest, what would you think would constitute silly money...looking at the likes of Twine as we were earlier on this thread, surely it would have to be more than that deal? Keep seeing rumour Villa are keen amongst others in the prem....Sincerely hope we can hold onto him and build around him....but would hope any deal, whenever it may happen is laden with add ons and friendly terms on loans!
