If the billionaires are there, they’ll buy us regardless of the date. They don’t need a transfer window to keep us up and it doesn’t matter who they buy, we aren’t going up either. I hope I’m wrong but the information is a bit smelly. People aren't getting it. TS has not paid RD the £17m instalment he contractual has to pay. It's fairly obvious that it's because he has agreed to sell 82% of the club to new owners who have told RD they can pay the lot, the whole £53m up front and in doing so prove to the EFL that they have the necessary funds. Just when everything is in place TS then stalls in signing anything. It's all well and good saying it's only 2% extra TS wants so what's the problem, if the Yanks really wanted to buy us that small amount is nothing to them but spin that on it's head and look at it another way which is the new buyers agreed a price to buy an 82% stake in the club but at the death get told sorry chaps I've changed my mind and all I am giving you is 80% for the same price. TS fucks the deal up and doesn't pay RD either while the Americans walk away. Then what? An issue with this is, that where does owing RD £17m come from and for what!? Contracts between RD & TS/clear ocean/CAFC have been seen (somewhat accessible publicly) and there’s nothing about £17m being owed and no triggers in 2023 etc either

So do we know who the “buyer” is yet and should we be pleased? If so why (without peddling it’s great because it’s not Thomas)? Three US billionaires who already own sport’s franchises. Source - he wears red trousers. So you’re being told all this by methven? He clearly is trying to force a narrative, regardless of whether you think he has skin in the game. He’s trying to get himself/his pals involved at the club in order to flip it

AndyG 5:06PM I have no information other than what is posted on here but why the hell would 3 billionaires be trying to flog 75k investment packages in Texas ? Why would they even know that Chucks exists ? Why would TS risk being on the hook for even more millions down the pan for 2% ? Why on earth would anyone agree to pay the Belguim £27m by that deadline ? This is either a nutters fantasy post of the day or someone has fed them the scoop to try and deflect away from themselves when it all comes to nothing. Serious question here. Who would welcome Roland back ? Tend to agree with this from CL. The same CL who arranged trips to Belgium to get him out of the club. The same CL who's mods got into bed with CARD and allowed their forum to be the platform for protest groups. The same CL who put images of RD and his family being harassed outside a restaurant in St. Trond. The same CL who abused Katriene Meire and took great pleasure out of protesters visiting the home of her parents. The same CL who helped arranged protests at the Valley. The same CL who if they hadn't of chased RD out in the first place, we would not be in this fucking mess today.

So I have just been informed that CM has been questioned about my post today and replied with the following on LinkedIn earlier.
“Not entirely accurate, but I am not inclined to correct it”
Make of that what you will.

Whether I anted him to stay or not I didn't persecute him like some of our so called fans did. I will check the figures out but I'll say this one last time, I don't give a toss who believes this or not. You can pull it apart all you like and it won't change a thing.

We're not doing the whole Roland thing again.
He split CAFC from all its material assets and sold it to a couple of spivs for £1. That's why we are in this mess. Nobody forced him to do that. Getting all his poorly spent money back from the Club's land was all he ever wanted once he had abandoned his failed network scheme, splurged on big contracts for useless players, and let Charlton Athletic be run into the ground by his incompetent divorce lawyer muse.
If we go under, it's 100% down to him. But that's history now. It can't be undone.
Charlton Athletic FC has always been at the mercy of chancers and fools. Even when things were going well our own complacent Board pressed the self-destruct button, in the 1950's and again five decades later, even after Charlton fans had brought the Club back to the Valley.
Our downfall was never the fault of our own supporters, and it isn't now.

I see it that Sandguard has paid up too £17m into Charlton not as much as say £26m. He does not want 2 fund the £6m plus a year on his own anymore.

Had a bit of a Google re three American billionaires owning an MLS team. Most billionaire MLS owners are from overseas and already own an English team so there are limited options.
The most likely looking perhaps is FC Dallas' owners, Hunt Sports Group. Which is two brothers who are both American and billionaires. They have a third brother who isn't a named owner of Dallas but is involved in other sports team ownership so may well be part of the rumoured three.
The fact that CAFC investment brochure was circulating in Texas/Dallas might not be coincidental, although why billionaires would need to bring in small 75k investors I don't know.
It's currently pre season in MLS land btw and FC Dallas are at a training camp in Spain until mid Feb so it's possible one or more of their owners might be over this side of the Atlantic too.
Not sure if there's anything in any of this but thought I'd share it (the results of my Googling) in case it's of interest.

FWIW, I know the source of the info, and it’s unimpeachable. We can put that one to bed, draw a line under it, and move on with debating the content.
It’s been a good few days for this forum, what with Reams’ info yesterday and @dickplumb info regularly coming in.
We don’t need to worry about having our homework marked by a forum that’s still carrying a Roland Out banner 🤦♂️ and most of who’s leaders still have their breakfasts on their chins at lunchtime.
It’s also worth reminding people that a significant group of long term fans requested and then attended a meeting with CAST eight weeks ago to discuss concerns about Sandgaard, and came away feeling that they had been patronised and ignored.
We will know the real truth this week either way on who’s holding the best cards out of TS and CM, and who’s going to fold at the last moment.

There is nothing in the accounts of either CAFC Ltd or Clear Ocean Capital to suggest money is owed to Duchatelet. However, I seem to recall that a few weeks back Peter Varney said something about money owed by Sandgaard to Duchatelet being a potential complication in any takeover - though I can’t find the source. I dismissed it at the time as shitstirring but perhaps, bizarrely, there is some kind of private deal between Sandgaard and Duchatelet? It seems unlikely I know, but there was something similar in place in the ESI deal. The loan agreement between CAFC/ESI and Duchatelet had a guarantor.

The Americans like I said have the whole £53m ready to pay if Sandgaard stops playing silly buggers.

Like London buses Charlton fans desperately wanting a billionaire to save them suddenly find themselves with 3…yes3 billionaires desperate themselves to buy before the transfer window closes so they can spend truppence halfpenny on top league 1 players to achieve a top 6 finish and an immediate return to the championship in order to increase vital revenue. Despite having huge legal teams and staff experienced in acquiring sports clubs they are unable to find the time or the courage to pick up the phone and ring Sandgaard. Instead they choose CM as some kind of weird go-between without whom the deal would collapse. So desperate are the billionaires to have a club in London with all the potential that London offers that they are prepared to walk away within the next couple of days. They really want us. TS owes RD 17m quid? If that’s true and we know he’s plotless then he had better invent some kind of story to defer payment? Not buying any of this. The last few years have demonstrated that people will believe almost anything that turns out to be totally made up. Believe if you want but it’s not for me this one.

This was it I thought this was very odd at the time but perhaps there is something to it. It would certainly help to explain the comment in Paul’s post. There was those saying that TS was behind on the lease payments but not sure that has anything to do with the £17m unless a default payment triggered some sort of penalty but that seems doubtful. Re the £50m I thought TS had an option, maybe contractual, to buy at the end of the 15 year lease period which make sense. Anyway if the Americans are stumping up the whole lot it doesn't matter to us but if they were to pull out because of his shenanigans doesn't it leave TS still owing a £17m payment to RD? If so, he is even more of a fool for putting the deal at risk for an extra 2%!

Sure thing is that CM has not 1 but 3 billionaires in tow and only has only a few hours left before the window shuts to seal the deal. It must be so hard for him. That’s a complete distortion of what’s being said. At its core the message is that Sandgaard has a deal to sell the club which he is in danger of losing because he’s behaving like a complete Dick. Given what we’ve learnt about Sandgaard over the last 2-3 years I don’t find that at all difficult to believe. Whether everything we’re being told is true I don’t know, but I’d be very surprised if there isn’t some real substance to it. I have no doubt that those sharing information are doing so in good faith having done their own tests for authenticity and credibility.

As we know RD wasn’t the evil arch enemy that he was portrayed as. Destroying our history despite allowing the Charlton museum operate on his property. When things don’t stack up with evidence to support it (and empirical evidence showing otherwise) there’s usually a reason. This story doesn’t stack up.

If the transfer window closes and nothing happens (no billionaires), will that be cited as evidence that this take-over scuppered by TS story was true? That's going to look rather like the whole scenario was invented just to denounce Sandgaard. Doubtless it'll be one person's word against another's, with sources still undisclosed. And let's face it, nothing happening is about a billion times more likely than a sudden billionaire take-over. On the other hand, if billionaires do buy the Club by tomorrow evening, will TS get any credit for his part in the process (or at least for allowing it to happen, since he apparently has a veto)? I guess nobody will care if we're suddenly one of the richest Clubs in England
