There's a good chance I'm cynical after five years of false dawns, and I completely believe the posters on here recently are sharing information from the horses mouth. One thing that doesn't make much sense to me is: This 2%. I understand it's about the equity and not the up-front amount (alluding to the fact that 2% will be worth much more once the potential billionaire owners have had a crack at it). But if they're sure of success I'm surprised they'd broker a deal at all which includes Sandaard retaining stake. Giving Sandgaard his money back plus an additional (even) five mil for his trouble should be small change to a group such as these if they're confident of swift improvement. With that considered, men of that worth generally value their time above all else, given the effort contributed so far I'd be surprised to see them walk away from it all for the sake of £1m now or £5m down the line. If I was a multi-billionaire I’d not entertain Saandgaard retaining any %share. I’d bung him extra to foxtrot offski. Smells a bit all this. I get we want Saandgard out but I’m not sure we should want these guys in. Until I have an alternate insight I’m detached and waiting to see what happens. One things for sure this window is (another) bust

Maybe there is a significant difference between an 18% ownership and a 20% ownership. Maybe the buyers have already split the other 82% and none of them are willing to dilute their share. Or, maybe, they just won’t be f**ked around by an arrogant narcissist who clearly knows as much about running a successful football club as my cat does. If someone came to me at the last minute to move the goal posts I wouldn’t stand for it. It wouldn’t matter if I had already invested thousands. I wouldn’t stand for it, and I’m not a billionaire who is sued to getting everything he wants, all the time. Sometimes principles matter. Also if they are really spending £50m+ on a third division football club with an arse as a business partner it’s not going to be hard to find the same deal elsewhere. That's a good point, something I didn't really consider is the fact that TS retaining a share means doing business with him going forward and if he's this challenging now, what's he likely to be in 2-3 years time when things are rosey. Or the entire thing about could be all fantasy designed by a manipulatator who uses other people to spread his nonsense.

Sorry Paul but this don’t work for me. If this mystery source has bollocks then he should be posting on this forum and others not using you as a platform. If he want to galvanise the fans in 2 days - then how does he expect to do that? He has given you information that is both factually and possibly legally misleading. Given the short time we have he can’t be serious about leaving it to the fans who are totally underwhelmed and confused by the wealth of information that is not being told to them. You really don’t get it. FOR THE LAST TIME Paul and me and other posters can’t post who that source is. Why do you think that is? My Source is from the horses mouth. Who do you think the horse is? They don’t post on Football forums. I’m sorry dick but you’ve lost me earlier on today you where saying it’s all rumour now you’re saying it’s a fact? This is why people get confused with you horse whisperers

Surely you can’t genuinely be this dense in real life ? Methven has no skin in the game. To make it simple for you, think of Charlie as like a registrar at a wedding. Unless he manages to bring the couple together on the big day …( Sandgaard and the US sports franchise owners), he doesn’t get paid. In his case ,..a sizeable finders fee. He’s not some sort of Etonian JR Ewing, plotting against all and sundry. He needs a deal. Any info that comes out that puts any pressure on Sandgaard to be realistic needs to be seen in this context. Absolutely nobody with an IQ in double figures believes that Methven is 1.good news or 2. A straight dealer. So I don’t know why you keep peddling this “you are all being manipulated” line ?

So has this source asked for Charlton Life to spread the word and put pressure on Thomas? If not why choose a smaller forum (no insult to Reams and fellow posters)…,?

Let’s keep it civil, guys.. we all want the same thing… Honesty. We have been down this line before. All the rubbish that was peddled by some against Roland and the suckers fell for it. And they piss off a genuine billionaire some people are blinded by their own self inportance. This is a club for all not just the gobby ones

Strikes me that all this is just postering and bluff. It’s a negotiation. Not uncommon when the end of the negotiation is looming. 🍿 The question you should be asking yourself is why is a mystery ‘Charlton businessman’leaking information this close to a deal being done? Change the record you fool.

If the billionaires are there, they’ll buy us regardless of the date. They don’t need a transfer window to keep us up and it doesn’t matter who they buy, we aren’t going up either. I hope I’m wrong but the information is a bit smelly. People aren't getting it. TS has not paid RD the £17m instalment he contractual has to pay. It's fairly obvious that it's because he has agreed to sell 82% of the club to new owners who have told RD they can pay the lot, the whole £53m up front and in doing so prove to the EFL that they have the necessary funds. Just when everything is in place TS then stalls in signing anything. It's all well and good saying it's only 2% extra TS wants so what's the problem, if the Yanks really wanted to buy us that small amount is nothing to them but spin that on it's head and look at it another way which is the new buyers agreed a price to buy an 82% stake in the club but at the death get told sorry chaps I've changed my mind and all I am giving you is 80% for the same price. TS fucks the deal up and doesn't pay RD either while the Americans walk away. Then what?

If you can’t tell us that’s ok but it seems a little out of the blue - for me anyway!

So has this source asked for Charlton Life to spread the word and put pressure on Thomas? If not why choose a smaller forum (no insult to Reams and fellow posters)…,? A sensible question. Putting aside any opinions about the people who run it, CL has by far the largest number of members of any Charlton fans' forum. It would be the natural first choice for somebody wishing to galvanise the greatest number of fans possible. This forum would then be the natural second choice. So has a similar urgent plea gone out to members of CL? If this matter really is critical to the future of the entire Club, then it should have done. And if it's life or death for CAFC, that surely matters more than any degree of rivalry and enmity between 'competing' forums supporting the same Club. ITTV and CL should be standing shoulder to shoulder on this. Frankly none of this makes sense, or comes close to a convincing case for extreme action in my view.

I like you Lardi, but that really is an incredibly naive post. Charlton Life wasn’t known as CARD Life for nothing. It’s completely up the arse of the CAST/CARD/B20 lot, and is driven by an agenda that worships Peter Varney as a Demi God, and his principal propaganda spreader as some sort of sage. Put simply, nobody outside of a small clique gets a hearing on that site.

How badly some of us think CL is run must surely be beside the point. It is by far the largest Charlton fans' forum. That's just a fact of life. If there is an immediate threat to the future of Charlton Athletic and many fans must be mobilised to help save the Club, how could CL possibly not be part of that mobilisation? Are you saying that because of their internal politics the leadership of CL is being deliberately blind to this threat to CAFC? That they would let the Club go down in flames to suit their agenda? This is just one of the things about the scenario we're being asked to buy into that just does not ring true.

As posted higher up this season has gone but it still costs Sandgaard £500K+ per month to fund us. Which he will never see again! Put another way these new owners could put in a new bid for 100% of the club and/or authorise more leaks designed to turn fans against Sandgaard. One thing's for certain: we will know more once the window closes, this deadline passes and whether Scott stays on board or not. What's weird is why Sandgaard wishes to stick around when he's clearly not very good at running our club. Any new owner with deep pockets and the ability to recruit a decent SMT is going to show him up by comparison within 12-18 months.

AndyG 5:06PM I have no information other than what is posted on here but why the hell would 3 billionaires be trying to flog 75k investment packages in Texas ? Why would they even know that Chucks exists ? Why would TS risk being on the hook for even more millions down the pan for 2% ? Why on earth would anyone agree to pay the Belguim £27m by that deadline ?
This is either a nutters fantasy post of the day or someone has fed them the scoop to try and deflect away from themselves when it all comes to nothing.
Serious question here. Who would welcome Roland back ? Tend to agree with this from CL.

You really have great problems believing people, don’t you? I don't believe everything I read at face value. And I'm afraid you're not doing a very good job of convincing me. Thomas Sandgaard ready to scupper a take-over by Billionaires because he wants 20% of the gravy train of limitless funded future success instead of 18%. It's simply not credible. If an army of Charlton fans is needed to hound TS out of town by Tuesday evening, they're going to need a lot more motivation than this.

Have you seen the video of Sandgaard where he talks about ‘being a face in London’ and how if he goes into a restaurant people want selfies with him? I can’t remember where I saw it now so I can’t give you a link. Sorry. What the video tells me is that he loves owning a football club and if he manages to find someone to make it successful for him he might be able to go back to ‘being a face’ and playing his guitar in local pubs. He loves all that attention. Not to mention that if he is pushed out he’ll need to buy another company for his son to work for.
