Another ex MK Dons (Mediocre level 3 club) player. Announce Dele Ali 👍 He's certainly not mediocre but even if he was he's a big step up on some of the players who play in the same position. I think the only way we will sign Reed now is if TS tries to generate some money by selling Dobson. |

There was chat on the Swindon side of us coming in for him but not liking the price, and only going back at the end of the window if we don't land our targets. You'd have to assume McGrandles was one of those targets. Would be a shame to lose the best passer in League Two given we're looking to implement a possession style of play. |

Either Dobson will be sold if a bid comes in, or that’s the end for Gilbey & Morgan. Hopefully Albie and Davison can be used in trying to get McKirdy in. I think this might put an end to Louis Reed coming in now and Swindon are trying to improve a deal for Jack Payne to change his mind. Garner likes to play with two sitting players so hopefully that might be Dobson and McGrandles so Gilbey could be the odd man out here. |

Mmm - a bit lukewarm on this. I want someone with a goal or two in them. According to Wiki 274 games, 18 goals.
Perhaps I want too much but this signing does not do it for me unless he’s a creator for others.

I agree we need a goal scoring midfielder and I think he will arrive. |

Dobbo, McGrandles, JFC and Gilbey competing for the two holding spots in midfield sounds alright to me. I know some don’t rate Gilbey, but I think a different system could get more out of him.

Dobson - not popular opinion but I think he is nothing special just ok. JFC - above average player WHEN FIT ! Gilbey - didn’t look interested last season. McGrandles another player kicking around league 1 and 2. Boy I would even take Lyle ‘the snake’ Taylor on loan to wake this pre season. Bottom line is we need goals from midfield at the moment I can’t see where they are going to come from. |

I agree with what you say about Gilbs. He and McGrandles played in the same MK Dons midfield together for three seasons. |

Think there is goals in the midfield. Especially if we are playing higher press further up the pitch.Know midfielder will score goals if we are passing sideways and back.In our own half like last season

Huge fan of Dobson but more leaders and battlers in the middle make us harder to break down. Like you I'm hoping for some attacking players soon. Also a left back. |

My guess is that Ben Garner will want a pivot who can play a bit, a player who can receive, turn and face upfield and start attacks etc. I don’t think there’s any guarantee that Dobson will fit in a genuine passing side. I don’t know anything about McGrandles, but perhaps he’ll fit the game plan better? I could easily be completely wrong, obviously. |
