Great news. Hopefully, not just to cash in the next transfer window.

Great news. Hopefully, not just to cash in the next transfer window. Good news all round. I’m glad Deji’s parents have done the sensible thing. Sandgaard must also be a very relieved man today. Elewere’s signature on a long term deal was vital to his plans.

Great news. Hopefully, not just to cash in the next transfer window. Good news all round. I’m glad Deji’s parents have done the sensible thing. Sandgaard must also be a very relieved man today. Elewere’s signature on a long term deal was vital to his plans. No one player is vital as they can all be bought and sold, all can get injured or lose form virtually overnight. What's vital is that the next two windows are utilised to improve both performances and results by gently replacing weaker members of the squad. Strategy and execution to ensure at least 16 players really competing for the shirt will do wonders at this level. Incidentally, I welcome his signature, hope to see more of him in the full realisation that the better he becomes the more likely a £2-3M bid will come in. The only way to keep Elerewe is to climb the leagues, reach the play offs and develop as quickly as he does! As ever, let us enjoy the journey especially now we know that one of the 13 out of contract next summer has signed up. Those who know the game better than us mere mortals might opine as to when we might see him replace Pearce in the first XI or off the bench.

Great news....can't be long until he's playing in the 1st team. If he is sold now at least the club will get a big fee

Well done TS .. getting him to stay with the vultures gathering Why do I think it was more the JJ factor to him signing rather than TS……there were rumours he wouldn’t commit under NA…..

Elewere’s signature on a long term deal was vital to his plans. He sounds like a really grounded young man……..would imagine his agent might have had some big short term financials plans for him….but his parents no doubt would have helped him to make the right decision for his immediate future…..

Let’s start playing him!!! Think he would be ideal in that Gunter/ Matthews role on the right hand side of the back three…..think he will be a first team regular in that position at some stage this season……

Really good news. He should play in the next two games (cup and papa). I can see him being a first team regular by the end of the season, especially if we continue to play three at the back.

Only just picked this up, brilliant news, made my day. Haven't felt so positive for ages, perhaps we've really turned the corner. I'm sure JJ was involved in this.

Let’s start playing him!!! After watching Famewo and Pearce on Tuesday night that might not be far a way. It's probably with Deji signed, he no doubt watched them too.

Vital because Sandgaard’s business model is a double promotion while breaking even. To do that you need playing assets under contract to sell.

Hopefully a bright future for the young man!

Can't believe he signed. I just assumed that he'd go like so many others. Brilliant.

Very pleased with this signing as I think he will develop into a top player. Best way to keep him long term is to get out of this wanky league. What with Inniss being made of glass and now Lavelle being out for some time the lad will soon be getting a run in the 1st team. Personally I can't wait to see what he can do.

This signing has restored my faith a bit more in the academy process which previously I was struggling to see the benefits in with Premiership scouts waiting in the wings ready to take our best young talent for next to nowt……

Just read the first 3 pages of this thread , if you haven’t read it , then don’t bother , just 3 pages of people saying he’d signed for West Ham for £200,000 and how shit the club was for allowing this to happen…
With hindsight might have been worth saving the energy and moaning about it once it had actually happened…🤣 Another one correct for Alan Nixon….? 🤣
Anyway , great news the young lad has signed , he may prove vital with anymore injuries…

I was one who thought he would go the way of Doughty and and chase the short term dollar……..how wrong was I and I am very happy to eat a small slice of humble pie this afternoon……..

But I’ve also felt disillusioned by Prem clubs taking talent for relatively minor fees. As we know Brentford did away with their youth set up snd instead spent their funds on quality young players with a view to earning sizeable transfer profits when sold on. The logical part of my brain favours the Brentford approach whereas my emotional hemisphere just loves the concept of bringing through local kids. Sadly my suspicion is that I should think more logically 😳

Main reason he never got near England cap. Deji may be the best long passer in the club. Like to see a back three of Clare, Deji, Famewo.

There is also a number of better than promising youngsters, I wonder how their contracts stand? I appreciate we have a problem over contracts if they are under 18.

I'd rate our CBs if fit:- Elewere (for his passing) Inniss Famewo Lavelle Pearce With possibly Clare to be in the list if he played more games there. We have tried FBs there, but under 6' blockers will be targeted if we persist.
From my list, a LCB is essential as I doubt JP will play next season. Jan or Jun, doubt will matter as top six seems beyond us.
