DP - may I suggest a more accurate description is Graham (26), along with Ogilvie (25) (left back/ centre back) and Bonham (25) goalkeeper have all exercised their rights under Bosman.
I know Gillingham is not where you would normally think of going shopping but though I cannot stand the style of the guy Steve Evans does have an eye for a decent player.
Though Graham’s numbers are just for one season, he was well thought of at Wolves but had a gentleman’s disagreement with Nunos Dis Santos who wanted him to play wing back. Graham didn’t.
For me though a couple of years older than my preferred target range he has pace and creativity. So a definite yes for me.
Ogilvie who scored that wonder goal against us has a decent pedigree coming through the ranks at Tottenham and now has done 3 years in the trenches in League 1.
Bonham after his early challenges at Brentford has been an ever present for 3 seasons in League 1.
I suspect all 3 will be looking to step up, with a real opportunity to continue their first team careers (I.e not sit on a Championship club bench) and are local. For me they all have an upside without us having to break the bank.
PS Doesn’t mean we cannot be spending reasonably elsewhere

Jordan Graham released by the Gills. Wants championship football ...... expect Bowyer to get him

I expect Bowyer will resume his interests in his former targets, plus maybe attempt to take Taylor to Birmingham.
Hopefully NA, will be looking to play a different style of football, and therefore have his own player targets in mind.

Watson needs to be shown the door sharpish too. He will be neither use or ornament next season. Hard to see him improving. Equally hard to understand why his performances dropped from the level they were at Forest. Because he's a Millwall fan and he's here for a final pay day. He was never gonna put any effort in for Charlton. We were mugs to sign him but we were desperate at the time.

I think he has.....one of the things that have struck me is that having listened and watched the way that TS, GR and NA talk and interact, there's seems to be a symmetry between them..... what us ex Corporate Tarts call, cultural alignment, so I think there is commonality for style of play etc.... I think Bowyer didnt fit in culturally... he's got more a belt and braces and tell them straight approach... works in the short term, but not in the long run

Charlton Athletic, Wigan Athletic and Oxford United have been given the green light to submit offers to sign Hibernian defender Tom James, Football Insider understands.
The Scottish Premiership side are willing to let the 25-year-old leave on a free this summer, two years after joining the club.

If I remember rightly he had a move from Yeovil fall through as he failed the medical. Has he managed to stay fit up in Scotland? He was a freekick specialist from fullback I think

Ronnie Schwartz is going back to Denmark. Another Dane is coming in his place. I have no name. What a waste of everyone's time and hope.

Schwarz if he departs was just a matter of poor timing. I cannot speak to the level has played at but clearly as with so many strikers if you play to his strengths he has something to offer. Had the deal been done in the Summer he would have had more time to integrate. It didn’t and he spent 4 months on his backside. That the deal wasn’t done was probably why we signed Bogle 10 days before the end of the window. Come January and the deal is revived yet 3 weeks later Stockley a ready made EFL striker is heading on loan to Bristol Rovers. We step in.
No problem unload Bogle and Schwarz is a finisher. Yes he is but in what system? For the last 5yrs he has played as the sole striker in either a 4-1-4-1 or 4-2-3-1 system. He has played as a Secondary striker for 1 game and as an attacking midfielder for 1 game. So with Stockley and Aneke now in the building already playing that role 1 into 3 don’t go!. At every point whether we started him or he came off the bench we played him as a secondary striker. People often commented he looked lost! He was because he was not used as the primary target and any runs he tried to make found Stockley or Aneke doing the same thing. Thus he was left continually looking for second ball. The arrival of Stockley was a challenge too far for him but his goal tally for us was more than acceptable.

Hard to see him improving. Equally hard to understand why his performances dropped from the level they were at Forest. In my opinion he got noticeably worse as the season progressed too I suspect that his age, and he quality of the players around him with us, opposed to Forest, will have contributed to him looking less like the player that Forest were, apparently, keen to keep last summer.

Only managed four appearances for Salford City on loan from Jan 2021, injury perhaps. He is still on contract at Hibernian and they are letting him go on a free transfer!

You know that Bexley has picked this up on an attehtion seeking, click bait, web site that is fed news by clubs trying to push prices up though. We may well be looking at this chap, but a very, very, small proportion of these type of rumours turn out to be true - and even less, actually, happen. I know, for a fact, that we have done this sort of thing in the past.

Have heard from someone that his mate has spoken to Pearce and literally everyone is going. Pearce himself has been offered a coaching job for the Under 23s. But it is a proper clearout . Chuks Aneke has received lots of offers from Championship Clubs.

I have been mentioning Ogilvie as an option on here long before his wonder goal against us earlier on this season.
Would be a cracking signing if we can get him.

Chuks Aneke has received lots of offers from Championship Clubs. Thing is if you are a Championship club then if he can come on and get you five to ten goals in a season from the bench then he might be worth a punt. This is especially true if it’s a team that might be fighting relegation as goals and points are much harder to come by. Aneke can score goals from situations that don’t require a killer pass or cross. He can pick the ball up, run with it and hit is as hard as I’ve ever seen a player hit it before. He just can’t be relied upon to play often enough.

If his agent thinks any Championship club is going to pay him £20k a week, he’s in Eric Hall- land. Monster levels of self delusion. I see we are being linked with a Hibernian defender named Thomas James. He’s 25, and has been on loan at Salford City.

He's in a bit of a niche where he isn't fit enough to start but he's near enough guaranteed to score goals off the bench. Usually you need to keep strikers happy with game-time, here you have a ready made situation where not only do you need to promise him game time, but you also have a 65th secret weapon.

I agree with your logic but no Championship club is going to pay him decent money with his career fitness record. Let’s see if he’s willing be to take a ‘pay as you play’ deal.

I'd think the same, but if Jonny W can land a contract, Chuks should easily.

Truth be told, they don’t need to offer him much money, just more than we do.
