Last season's only blip where we didn't win for a few games and didn't score goals came about when Taylor was out of the side injured. Make no mistake about it, this injury is going to hurt us even more because there is no Aribo or Granf to chip in. We only have two goal scorers, not only do we have too many midfielders, too many of them have no goals in them. Yes it’s definitely gonna hurt us big time. Gallagher might cover for Aribo, but only having one good goal scorer is going to mean some low scoring games from now on. Hemed even when fully fit, might be only a one in three or four scorer . Unless Aneke or Bonne can surprise us and step up, we are going to need our defence to stay at the top of their game. Oztumer can score goals, and is good at set pieces, but I’m not sure if he will play often enough while Williams is fit.

Leko has one professional goal. It is slightly concerning but we knew what we had after the window. Bexley said that Bonne is like Taylor, so maybe it's worth giving him a go.

I think Bonne is still in his early days of a tier 2 apprenticeship. Gallagher may need to make more surging runs around the box as he has the talent and the confidence to score goals.

Ignoring the sarcasm, maybe LB will have to try Bonne off the bench and throw him in at the deep end .
Hemed will be first choice with his experience, Leko is a converted winger, Aneke has never done it at this level either , that only leaves Bonne. Our options are limited, and LB needs to come up with a solution to losing our best player and top goals scorer, whoever that might be.

Gallagher hasn’t scored until he played for us and how many wrote him off as an inexperienced player. Our first game without our talisman and we could have got a draw. Let’s not get caught up in doubting our players after our first loss in 7!

If Bowyer didn't think Bonne was good enough for the championship he shouldn't have bought him, we can't afford to have any might do's we need will do's, so he should give him a go on Saturday.

Forget those players re. goals! As posted elsewhere, the answer is for the front six to play to Hemed's strengths, as well as Gallagher continuing to attack the box. The squad is what it is and we are miles ahead of reasonable expectations... about to see 20,000+ roll up for what could be a top of the table clash if we can crack Wigan... Think about it... Wigan are nowhere on performances and a brand new squad has another week together. A win of any kind and we are guaranteed 17 points from our first nine, whatever the result vs Leeds.

What are Hemed's strengths then? He's a target man, pointless him winning the aerial balls like Yann used to when their is nobody playing the supporting role like BWP did and taking advantage of it.

Suggest we look on a Brighton message board or await the next game to take a view on Hemed. There's no way to legislate for a random injury to Taylor nor anybody else unless we are talking millions on more players and that was never part of the proposition in July. If Hemed wins the flick ons regularly then Leko and Gallagher need to be in the right place to pick them up. 4-2-3-1 under KR moves to a 4-4-2 diamond and then evolves to 4-3-3?

I see that Lyle Taylor has been released by Forest.
In the three years he was with them, apparently earning £30k a week (£4,68m), he managed 7 goals in 57 appearances - many from the bench. He did, also, manage 5 goals in 14 games for Birmingham.
I make that an average of £390,000 per goal - in the Championship.
He did ok, didn't he?

In terms of onfield performance he was poor whereas his bank manager thought he was the bees knees! He is a professional footballer and whatever we think of him he provided himself and his family with financial security.

In football terms no but if his aim was to earn some money then yes.

He earned nearly £5m by sitting on the bench. I will never forgive him for refusing to play for us!

I know his contract was about to expire, but to not play the final games for us when needed, I don't get it. He left us to join Ebbsfleet .... Anyone know the story ?? Also didn't Solly just play in our legends game ?

Also didn't Solly just play in our legends game ? Charlton manager Lee Bowyer says that some of his players are refusing to play upon the proposed resumption of the Championship on June 20. The Addicks boss, whose side are two points adrift of safety in the Championship, confirmed that they will be without long-serving defender Chris Solly and top scorer Lyle Taylor when the league resumes.

Taylor and Solly both said they were worried about injuries with their contracts up, Solly, in particular, was very badly advised as he was nowhere near getting into the first team at the time. Taylor, like over 99% of footballers coming to the end of their contracts, was worried about getting injured and missing out on a big payday. It worked out ok for Taylor and his 10% leech. Less so for Solly and his leech.
