If that’s true then it won’t be up to ten weeks. It’ll be nice to try a couple of games without Lyle but ten weeks or so could be disastrous

He was always going to be noncommittal over Lyle , he doesn’t wanna give Birmingham any advantage....

Trained physiotherapists who understand sports injuries will assess his fitness and whether he gets to even be on the bench on Saturday.
Obviously Birmingham at home is one of those you'd file as "we should be winning games like this" and so having him on the bench and see how things go and introduce him to potentially "turn" the game is an option if he is semi-ready.

Great news. Did not expect it to be so short. Relieved!

If only 75% or around that mark then put him on the bench. We should have what it takes to beat Blues at home without needing to rely on Taylor. I don't think they will be that great this season, possibly strong at home but away they have already shown weaknesses conceding 6 in their last 2 away games. I think it will be tight and they will bring a lot of noise, but we will edge them in the end

I remember last Autumn when he left the ground after a Tuesday night game in a protective boot. In his Thursday presser Bowssaid he was defo out for Saturday.
But lo and behold who played like a demon two days later. He is as tough as old boots so let’s see the lineup at 2pm on Saturday 👍

I don’t get the “let’s rest him” or “we should be winning games like this”. If he’s fit play him as we need our best players playing as all games in this division will be tough. That said, we have more chance of beating Birmingham than Leeds so really important to have him present if at all possible....

Too right - he maybe offski in Jan so let’s value and appreciate a legend and a contributor to the crowds hitting 20k

Yes, if he’s fit play him always, but if there’s any doubts over him, its not worth him even being on the bench. I hope he is fit, he makes a massive difference to us, but if not Hemed will probably get his first start with Leko. We also have Aneke to come on off the bench.

If he doesn’t, it will be because he’s injured rather than because he missed a training session. He’s fit enough, so it could jus be a precaution, so I wouldn’t take too much notice of that.

This sucks is so many ways. First, he probably won’t be fully back up to speed by the transfer window. Thus, he will not get the demand he would have had he 10+ goals. So clubs might just wait til the end of the season to bid on him. He walks on a free. We get nothing and have nothing to spend to replace him.

Who knows what may happen by then?

It is what it is. Move on and use the strengths of the players we have left in the squad until he is fit to play again.
Crying about it is not going to change anything.

A bit off swings and roundabouts, we paid nothing for him. He has well and truly delivered for us, it's his prerogative to run contract down, or presume he could sign a contract to assure we receive money?..

Last season's only blip where we didn't win for a few games and didn't score goals came about when Taylor was out of the side injured.
Make no mistake about it, this injury is going to hurt us even more because there is no Aribo or Granf to chip in. We only have two goal scorers, not only do we have too many midfielders, too many of them have no goals in them.
