And when we do eventually get back to the Premier League, the 4 ex Directors should be guests of honour on the pitch at the opening home game, so that Charlton fans can properly thank them for what they did. They should put Judas Murray in the stocks & throw rotten fruit at him. Doesn't even begin to make sense! The ex-directors who walked away and didn't put more money in are lauded whilst the one funded 100% of the losses in 2010 is attacked. The irony is that higher up on this thread you have correctly identified that RD's interests coincide with those of the fans and the club. That's to say that promotion to the EPL would make everybody happy. Therefore we all have a choice on a message board: either make a rational appraisal of our squad, our potential and the path to a second consecutive Wembley appearance... or spew bile at anybody connected with running the club. My choice has always been the former which has meant I've avoided mind bending gymnastics last season - whilst the failure to replace Grant was annoying, it was possible to recognise the emergence of one of our best midfield in years. And the first 45 minutes the other night showed that management and squad have the potential to aim for the top half. Another five or six games and we will have a better idea... and then we can have a meaningful conversation about the January window. As for the ex-director loans they are actually quite handy since they are a deterrent to anybody who doesn't have £100M or more to take us forward. Although it looked unlikely 12 months back, we are now in a position today where our best interests might be served by keeping the same set up in place. So yes, reward the management team, reward the best players with new contracts, and bring in another four or five quality players. Nominating who might be replaced in the first XI would be both premature and disrespectful. But by November, Bows, JJ and Gallen will no exactly who we need... and we may need to spend hard cash to acquire the likes of Cullen and any other successful loan - this to make them our player as well as free up loan slots. Best interests might be keeping the setup? The man who very nearly lost us Bows & Jackson. You'd rather keep Roland than have someone like Dalman?

The truth is if the ex directors didn't defer what they were owed we would be in serious trouble, possibly going into administration. Murray at the shareholders meeting said as much. When the minor shareholders, which I was one of them, shares were cancelled. There was no money left. I will always be grateful to those ex directors. And so should i, and everyone else.. I only lost £400.. Those loans, with no guarantee of return, saved us..

If it ain't broke, don't fix it! The conversation between Bows and RD was a negotiation resulting in a big pay rise and Bows staying as boss. As long as he can work with the budgets set and decisions made about transfers then all good. At the start of the season we simply didn't know if Bows, the management and the squad could hack the Championship for it's very different to League one. Today we are looking at the possibility of the best side and best finish in 13 seasons!

seriouslyredI was at the fans meeting when Murray was asked how he felt about his bad decisions causing all of the small shareholders to lose their money. He literally sneered. “I’ve lost more”. dickplumb can comfort this. I’m not saying you’ve got serial bad judgement Kevin, but you’d somehow manage to back the loser in a one horse race.

Course he hasn't Mate. He never responds when correctly challenged. Think even he realises that he has embarrassed himself on this one.

I would love RD to invest millions more to get it to the Premier League but if it works then great, if it fails then RD will have ‘lost’ even more money.
In the case of the ex Directors, it is an even more win, don’t lose scenario. If we get to the Premier League they get their loans back (something that is still not guaranteed in their lifetimes) and if we don’t RD will have spent millions of pounds of his money trying.
For this reason there is, all be in unnecessary, justification for Bexley Boy to ask if Bob wants to spend some of his money trying to get us promoted rather than asking someone else to spend theirs.
Just thinking out loud!

Just thinking out loud! Bob Whitehand is already owed money by the club. BB is suggesting that he should write that money off so that Duchâtelet can sell the club at a profit. The Moral Maze would have a field day with that one.

The Moral Maze would have a field day with that one. But they are assumptions on your part, are they not? Does anyone, really, believe that with or without the ex Directors loans RD is going to find someone to pay him a high enough fee that he makes a profit over the four/five years he’s owned the club. I believe that the debt is close to £70m now and I’ve read that the sale price is c. £35m. Those numbers don’t suggest that there is any profit in it. I’m not criticising Bob Whitehand or Bexley Boy I’m just pointing out the facts as I see them.

What facts? You’ve just mentioned possibilities with no verified sources.
Would you write off millions of pounds you loaned a club, interest-free, just because some uninformed poster suggested you should as you were the reason RD couldn’t sell the club, even when this wasn’t true??

Everything in football is ‘undisclosed’.
But then again none of us want our private financial affairs aired in public and so none of us should he making rash statements of what other folk should or should not do.

Just thinking out loud! Point 1) If RD spends more money to get the club promoted and fails he will have ‘lost’ his money. Point 2) It RD does manage to ‘buy’ promotion the ex-Directors will be in line for a wind fall that that may never see - as the club might not get promoted to the Premier League again in their lifetime. Point 3) Mr Whitehand is suggesting that RD should risk his money (see Point 1) which, if successful, would make him (Mr Whitehand) more wealthy (see Point 2) yet there is no risk to Mr Whitehand’s current financial situation. Point 4) Bexley Box has suggested that Mr Whitehand has (which he is perfectly within his right to) refused to ‘fund’ a new owner byreducing his charge over the club’s assets. I have no real interest on either side but the facts (or points if you would prefer garrynelson) are undisputed. Is that clear enough for you?

I have no real interest on either side but the facts (or points if you would prefer garrynelson) are undisputed. Is that clear enough for you? Point 1) If RD invests more into the Club, he just increases his loan to the Club at a rate of 2.5% PA interest. It's not even an unsecured loan. Point 2) Seeing as Bob Whitehand's debt is owed to 56 Developments LLP, it's irrelevant if he dies before we may ever reach the Premier League. Point 3) Where is Bob Whitehand suggesting the Duchatalet risk more of his money? All he is doing is responding to Bexley Boys fawning of our current owner. There is a charge on the company that is the debenture owed to Bob Whitehand. Despite it being non interest bearing it will not make him more wealthy as it is already part of his wealth, just as his pension fund would be. Point 4) I suspect that Bob Whitehand (and the other three debenture holders 'outed' by Murray) may be willing to negotiate with Duchatalet. Unfortunately Bob Whitehand has made it clear that no attempt has been made by the owner or his representatives to open any dialogue. Is that clear enough for you?

It's not in support of the Belgian, its ignoring all the crap we know nothing about, and just getting on with supporting the team and management, whilst enjoying the football being played.
