Don't understand why it's all so hush hush, unless of course he's worth big money and his signing might cause the clubs of our other targets to up the prices.

I prefer not to thanks mate because this is where Charlton fans need a wake up call for me, Bent is nowhere near as good as he was and has lost 5 yards at least. Let hero's be, no need for fans to continue to delve into the past hoping for a connection to years gone by. First it's the back to the Valley campaign, then it was Chris Powell now there are fans out there who want to see Bent come back. People need to let go.

George Tucudean huh...well that's an um....interesting signing. Very random though, kind of like Ben Haim.

He's better than some of the useless crap we have up front so it has to be a move in the right direction.

Looks ok to me , whether peeters can get them playing together is another matter . But all the new arrivals are definately a higher standard than we have , down to management skills now

Do you think that'll be it on the striker front, Reams, or can you see us bringing another one in? You've mentioned 'big name signings' a couple of times, but so far we've largely signed (decent quality) unknowns - was that just a hunch, or have you heard a whisper?

I think Reza's attitude is quite crucial to our striker count... If he's become a billy big nuts, we'll have a problem but, if he works with Igor and the new guy, we could be extremely lively. Another wide man for me unless it's Wilson on the right

Agree with Andy, Reza can go two ways. He can either feel more at home with a couple of other established players here from Standard or he could return from Brazil turn up at Sparrows Lane and think to himself that he can do better than this.
Personally I think he raised his game in the World Cup to aid a move which if he gets will force us into the striker market again. On the other hand I would imagine that Peeters has already realised what a cart horse Church is and that Pigot is miles off so if he wants 4 strikers then he'll move for another.

On Kett's Dr Kish blog:
Standard Liege's Romanian striker, George Tucudean, travelled to England on Saturday evening to complete his switch to Charlton.
23-year-old Tucadean will fly out to Spain with his new teammates for their training camp in Spain on Sunday.
He started his career with his hometown team, UTA Arad, where he netted 13 goals in 41 appearances before being transferred to Dinamo Bucharest. Tucudean scored 10 goals in 51 games during his stay in the capital, plus 9 goals in 12 games when loaned back to Arad , which attracted the attention of Standard Liege.
He signed for the Belgian outfit at the end of the transfer window in January of last year but failed to score in 11 appearances for his new side. Tucudean spent the 2013/14 on loan with former club Dinamo Bucharest and he made 22 appearances, scoring 7 goals.
He has represented his country at all levels up to Under-21.
At 6'1", Tucudean will be an aerial threat and could be suited to the more physical nature of the Championship.

Perhaps Ketts can confirm if switch means a loan or a permanent move.

I find it very hard to believe that there was not a British option in the striking department that was better than this guy. His CV cries out "journeyman". All I will say is that RD has brought in seven players in the last couple of weeks, and not one of them is a Brit. That is appalling, IMO. If you add these to the 8 players he signed last season, he has actually signed one British player (Tudgay) out of 15. Something is very wrong here. Will we ever sign another British player while RD is owner I am not saying don't sign any foreigners, but there needs to be a balance. It is seriously starting to feel to me that this recruitment policy, alongside the dismissal of back room stalwarts, and the way that some fans ( )appear very keen to either offload or rubbish our Academy products, points to an agenda at work. Amidst all of the OTT gushing every time we sign another Belgian , it would be nice to hear certain fans praise our Academy lads - the guys our Valley Gold goes towards nurturing. It strangely never seems to happen? It's almost as if some people, and not just our owner, are keen to dismiss Charlton's history because they were not a part of it.

You are aware British players command twice the transfer fee and wages of foreigners right? That's why Roland isn't signing Brits. Besides, three of Rolands signings have significant English experience: Moussa, Ben Haim and Bikey.

Why ...... Peeters said we have tired to buy players already in the championship but get quoted silly prices ...... Why should we pay twice as much for a lesser player then we can get abroad ......

The foreign influx doesn't overly bother me because I think it'll be supplemented by our British academy players. Solly, Harriott, Lennon, Fox, Cousins, Pope and Gomez could all feature quite heavily next season.
However, I'd rather we signed a striker with a proven track record in British football. Reza, Vetokele and Tucudean, for all their promise, are unproven. If we'd brought in someone like Le Fondre or Bamford to go with them, I might feel a bit more comfortable, although there's still time.
