Birmingham are rumoured to be signing Mike Eerdhuijzen a centre half from Sparta Rotterdam who finished 7 points off of European qualification in the dutch top flight, for 2 mil. Birmingham are shopping in a different market to us and will be strong this year. Alfie May isn't a different market to us, we signed him for less money and lower wages last season... Yes division top scorer, but I will be interested how hr does at Birmingham....

Birmingham might bring in another striker yet, they are obviously desperate to get straight out of the League so even though May scores goals I can't see them putting all their eggs in one basket, May might not even do well there, though I'm sure he will, but he may struggle especially with strong competition for places, I mean it's not like he had good strikers available here last season. Ultimately he's got to go where the money is at this stage of his career, it's not like he's earned big wages elsewhere in his career so on goals merit he deserves to rake in the best money he can get his hands on at 31. Good luck to him but we need to move on now, let's finish this squad and see where we can go

Am upset he’s gone but the important thing is how we recruit from now on. We desperately need a top replacement (not Godden in isolation)

Genuine heartfelt and classy farewell video. All the best Alfie, except against us.
Unlike previous seasons where we’ve been stiffed with our star player leaving without time to sign a replacement or have fully-dallied in signing one in order to save a few weeks wages, let’s see the Club sign 1-2 strikers this week.

It’s absolutely bonkers and insulting to Alfie May that there are still people on multiple social media outlets that are calling him a lair !!!

I had a health scare just before Christmas and had to be wheeled out of the ground to the West Stand car park, through the dressing rooms. Several players were stood post match in the corridor including Alfie. As people moved to the side to accommodate my medical entourage Alfie stopped his conversation to ask me if I was okay? Post Christmas at an East Kent Addicks evening in Ashford I had an opportunity to thank him for his concern on that night and to grab some photos and personalised messages for my girls which he was more than happy to do. Later that evening there was an auction of a framed and signed shirt, 2014 vintage, up for grabs. The bidding was mostly between two interested parties, one being me. Alfie offered to contribute £100 of his own money if I became the owner of the item. All in all £200 was raised for the local hospice. An extremely generous offer on his part.I was touched by his generosity. Cheers Alfie for all your goals and contribution to our season. I personally wish you all the very best for the future. There's just one thing I will say to you as a piece of sagely advice..... Please wear boots on your next tunnel jump.

He is, obviously, a lovely chap. That said, very few of the players come across as a bit of a arse at these fan meetings, but Alfie was genuinely the nicest.

Just read a FB post…( I know, I shouldn’t have) where the fella said I’ve heard we have replaced May with a 33 year old bench filler….😳 Admittedly the fella is getting a few pelters on there but WTF……sometimes you wonder if fans know the slightest bit about any football outside watching us play….I doubt the fella hasn’t even heard of Godden yet is posting about him….quite scary really……😳

That's mad if true. How are they going to stay within spending limits? Exactly what I said to the Huddersfield fan wasn't it mate. I wasn't aware he had spoken to Brum but knew he had a medical at Huddersfield. His heart was on Yorkshire but he'd only end up going there if they could match any wage Brum offered.

We are calling out for a number 10 well we already have one .. Chuks Aneke
He made his name as a number 10 at MK Dons and with his strength and forward running could be a big assist in that role
