Most likely because we just paid off Scott Frasers contract so that could be a small issue however its only until January and if we can offload more players in January then more will come in

Good signing is Potts……another leader in the squad / team……… but looking at the short term contract offered it looks like we only have the budget for one more player so we will no doubt bring another player in ( probably Hylton) on the same length of contract…..not exactly showing the ambition of a club looking to progress unless of course the player only wanted a short term contract…… We were struggling to offer enough wages apparently so probably couldn’t afford to commit to any longer just yet. That may, well, be true but if the rumours about him having injuries are true then it might just be a very prudent thing to do. Also we might have plans to sign someone better in January and this is just a stop gap signing.

Danny Hylton will not be signing. Well this aged well and I thought old dickplumb was in the know due to his imaginary trips down to Sparrows Lane to watch the youngsters!! His virgin pal Royston was also convinced this wouldn't be happening!! 😆😆🤏

I understand the logic behind Potts signing but cannot get my head around hylton. Struggling to see what he adds to this squad.

Twitter has just put it, Charlton Town have signed Danny Hylton as a free agent from Luton Athletic.

Kanu needs a league 2 loan but he won't get that now. Don't get the Hylton signing as his wages can't be low and he won't get in over the others, even if he is coming is a player coach. We need creativity in the midfield, whether that's wingers or attacking midfielders.
I'm happy about Potts signing though. Another left footed defender is useful.

Hylton comes in as player/coach as predicted a while back . With Leaburn back soon and if Aneke stays fit , he won’t get much game time .

After Potts can't really afford anyone else. Then why not save the money we just saved getting rid of Fraser (even though I'm sure that cost us). Signing a potentially 7th choice striker (6th if he's ahead of Kanu, but personally Kanu has shown he has done enough to be ahead of Hylton) makes no sense. Campbell and Ahadme are already ahead of Godden and Aneke. Then you have Leaburn and Kanu.

Experience, both off the pitch and on allows him to coach the strikers in the club and cover for Leaburn .. makes perfect sense he helps us out we help him Complete waste of a space…..we are crying out for an alternative creative player….so instead we bring in a 7th choice striker with no goals in him……go figure that one out as I can’t…….🤔🤔🤔🤔 If he is here to coach then bring him in on the coaching staff budget………

Pointless usage of player budget in my opinion.

Birmingham go and spend £10 Million on a striker who’s actually consistent at Championship level.
We’re set to sign a 36 year old striker on a short-term deal who played thirty times for Northampton in this league and league two without scoring a single goal.
Previous Owners would have got barrels of abuse for doing this signing!

Previous Owners would have got barrels of abuse for doing this signing! None of this makes any sense to me……but then offloading all the player wages we did in the summer, bringing in 7 new players and then being told we need to offload more to bring more players in also didn’t make any sense to me…..especially when we are constantly being told we have a top 4 league one wages budget……🤔🤔🤔🤔

I believe if he is still classified as a youth player he would be allowed to go on loan at anytime.

Jesus Christ am I the only person here without the memory of a goldfish.
Nathan Jones openly stated in his pre-season interview (about a month ago) that he intended to sign both Dan Potts and Danny Hylton.
If either of those people signing has come as a surprise to you, you probably should (no offence) pay a bit more attention.

It was no surprise to anyone with any sense mate……..what surprised me was the short term contract for Potts…..I am not sure we could actually afford him on a normal size contract……and we are being told we have a top 4 budget……🤔🤔🤔🤔
