If Gomez is sold it won't be until deeper into the summer by which time Tommy will be long gone hopefully. Do we even know that there would be a sell on fee due if Liverpool sold Joe Gomez? Gomez had a release clause in his contract at Charlton and that meant he was free to move where and when he wanted, provided only that the club offering him a contract met the terms of the release clause. In his case, that meant a headline transfer fee of just £3.5, despite the fact it was clear he was worth much more. In principle, once the terms of a release clause have been met the selling club has no bargaining power whatsoever, while the buying club has no need or incentive to give the seller any ‘value’ beyond those original terms. Given this, I was a little surprised that when Gomez won an England cap in a competitive international we received a payment. I assume that this must either have been a condition of the release clause or the result of a negotiation with Liverpool when Gomez moved there. Either way, Katrien Meire had clearly done something right and all credit to her too if we receive further payments if Gomez is sold. It's worth up to 6m Chris.

Josh Maja, remember him? Linked with Bolton & Oxford. Worth a punt imo Yes just left Bordeaux but I think. He'll end up at Rangers. There was an ex-Mk Dons lad who went out to France too, Rhys Healey. Scored plenty at Toulouse early doors two seasons ago when they got promoted to Lique 1 but then got a bad injury and missed most of last season. Healey signed for Watford a couple of weeks ago.

Reams, did Louie Barrie, sustain a bad injury recently?. Also sorry, who does Nathan Abbey play for?... Nelson Abbey ..Plays for Reading My apologies, I did mean Nelson Abbey! As for Louie Barry, I wasn't aware of the injury so that's a shame, he's just the striker/winger we should be looking at. Ideal player to have centrally or wide right cutting inside. We tried it with Alfie at Carlisle but it didn't work. Stockport also have Isaac Olaofe up front. 11 goals in 18 and Lewisham born. He's another I mentioned to Andy but personally I think we'll have another crack at Trivante Stewart. I keep mentioning Caleb Taylor who we are very interested in. 20 year old CB who just wants to play football. Talented too. Another name on my list is Connor O'Riordan at Crewe. 6ft 4 and CB. Scored twice against Doncaster last Saturday. Only 20 and a will be on a few wanted lists up and down the country. What we have that they don't though is Charlie Kirk to offer in exchange. It makes perfect sence to me.

This is the lad we should be looking at, Divin Mubama and I actually got Simon Leneghan and Andy Scott's attention talking about him last week. The conversation was about Sam Dalby initially but I moved onto Divin and both seemed very switched onto him. He would be perfect alongside Alfie and Miles, imposing and likes to come deep for the ball. Has pace and likes to be involved in build up play, his style would benefit Fraser and Camara too because of how deep he does come sometimes, they could play off him running deep into the channels. He offers far more than Cosgrove put it that way and looks far more agile too. He's only 19 and is a unit, a very athletic one at that. Very skillful for a big lad and likes to get a shot away as soon as he is in range of the sticks. I was born in Dagenham and the extended family have a big Dagenham/West Ham history, lieflong fans for generations. They played out a 2-2 draw a fortnight ago in a pre-season friendly and I watched it online. Mubama played up front with the lad Cornet who they signed from Lyon and they got a goal a piece. Here is a video of Mubama and he is everything we need in a striker. www.google.com/search?q=divin+mubama&sca_esv=556502029&rlz=1C1CHBF_en-GBGB883GB883&tbm=vid&sxsrf=AB5stBgo_rm2aRiZ2XSJfIfVfk_ctsJqpg:1691923680679&source=lnms&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjA9uTvutmAAxV3TkEAHewpDa8Q_AUoA3oECAMQBQ&biw=1397&bih=641&dpr=1.38#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:cb18011e,vid:hQ3gd4mU4Ew I have had no lead on Divin Muamba but with that West Ham fan saying yesterday that Connoe Coventry might not be the only West Ham player joining us, it just made me cast my mind back to a conversation I had after the Orient game on the opening day of the season. On my return home I typed up what I said at the time which I have quoted above.

Two new keepers please who are commanding and organise the defence.
Our current pair don’t say a peep and has been part of problem that is our defensive frailties.
He had his detractors but Dylan Phillips was not shy and retiring.

Keillor Dunne is the exact type of player we need. There isn’t an abundance of that type of player available this year, I imagine there would be strong competition, we would have to move early, but I can see it happening.

Doubt we will get two new keepers but I agree with your comments….👍 I would love to see a new Six Foot eight keeper coming and clearing out all in front him before catching everything thrown into our box…..🤣🤣 We haven’t defended properly all season but can you remember either of our keepers making the amount saves proportionally to the amount of goals we have let in…….🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

Nathan Jones “We will come out of this window significantly stronger then we go into it.”
I would hope so!

Nathan Jones “We will come out of this window significantly stronger then we go into it.” I would hope so! Yeah and Adkins pointed at the Hull players celebrating the Championship and said that it would be us ‘next year!’ Let’s see what happens over the summer. It is inconceivable, however, that our squad could be weaker than what we have now!

My gut feeling is NJ would have had assurances when he took over that he would have final say on who is brought in…..I very much doubt that was the case with Adkins, Holden and Appleton……that’s the big difference for me……..Rumour has it he had a big say in bringing in Small and Ramsay…..so if that was the case it does bode well moving forward into the summer as these two along with May are the only settled areas we have in this team IMO…..

No we don’t, hence the gut feeling comment……but I just can’t see someone of NJ’s pedigree and personality coming in and being dictated to on who he needs to build a promotion challenging team Understandably I think we are all conditioned over the last few years to expect a recruitment drive that we all don’t agree with….but I get the feeling the owners want to build something here and let’s be honest unless we do bring in the calibre of quality signings required the bums on seats at the valley will only get worse next season…..and the owners will be well aware of this…

Wiredu back at the valley would be brilliant imo Wiredu's genuinely the top midfielder in League One for successful tackles this season, but don't let the Dobheads hear facts like that!

I understand that Jones will have a cushty budget in the summer and when I ask what kind of path we are going to go down to enable us to launch a serious bid next season, the Ipswich model keeps being referred to.

Can we steal Connor Chaplin off them then…..….he would be perfect for our new number 10……🤣🤣 Would imagine targets are already being lined up and agents spoken to……I think this summer will differ from previous recruitment processes…….An Ipswich promotion budget to go with Pompey’s strategy of getting the squad together quickly will be NJ’s aim…..and no dodgy Man City loan players……🤣…….in fact if they ain’t in the Rak Saki quality bracket of loans I don’t see many loans coming in at all…..NJ wants to coach his own players and not other clubs unless they will significantly improve us…..The likes of Chen Campbell etc……I can’t see happening this summer Its going to be an interesting June/ July…..
