Marcus Browne available on a free…..weren’t we in for him previously? Was heavily linked with us whilst Sandgaard owned the club. Think he will drop into league 2 tbh. Was shocked his name wasn’t put about by the ‘news’ outlets again this season. But he hasn’t really been the same prospect since his knee injury

No Dixon or Casey in U21’s team today.
Maybe Casey is going out on loan?

No Dixon or Casey in U21’s team today. Maybe Casey is going out on loan? surprised Dixon isn't at least on the bench. NJ said he lacks physicality, well if he isn't ready for the U21s he won't be ready for the first team anytime soon.

Definitely. I'm not sure playing playing the likes of Northampton, Stevenage etc can compete with Real Madrid! I can see why he changed his mind. Massive shame for us, but looks like he's smashing it so far. No no no no no!! It wasn't in any way shape or form the fact that he'd be in Spain, playing a much better standard of football than L1, and the club able to pick up more of his wages than we could. Nope. It was the Senior Management Team's fault. They were looking at branded salmon chinos for the club shop! They didn't move quick enough! They haven't got any money to pay for wages! Blah blah blah...

Are we assuming Campbell and Dixon complete the midfield? I'm still concerned about the creativity we have. We've started amazingly (results/defence wise) but we still have less than 2 xGF in total for 3 games. That's not sustainable if we want to continue to get results. Luckily we have converted a high % of our chances. This is much higher than the teams around us, which is also not sustainable realistically. So we need to be able to open teams up. Nathan may be of the opinion that the players are now through the door, I don't know. It's my biggest concern in our team at the moment as I think we're pretty solid otherwise. The issue will be when we don't get cleansheets and/or have to come from behind. Guess your right, haven't seen any update on his international clearance. He seems to favour the number 13, most of his outings back in Jamaica he was wearing 13.

Haven't got time to do the maths as I'm going into a meeting but I have just read that Clubs in League One are limited to a 22-man squad, although that number does not include goalkeepers or players who were under the age of 21 at the start of the calendar year.
How many do we have and is there still room for manoeuvre if we can't shift Fraser or loan out Taylor?

Correction 16. I make it 17 but the real questions are: How much headroom in the budget? What contribution might Leaburn and Dixon make? Who's actually available as an EPL loan? How much do the owners and management want to let this squad settle down, develop and deliver? We all know that we're not creating as much as we need to so far. But some of that might sort itself out over the next few months as the team plays 15-20 games together. Obviously we might sustain a long term injury. And some players will develop whilst others don't leaving big questions to solve in the next window. But we're clearly leaving this window stronger than we entered it. We need to see more games to confirm where we are in the pecking order but the bookies have us down as a play-off contender.

Still room for a couple more then.
Thanks Guys.
In other news it is becoming increasingly unlikley that we will be bringing in an addidtional striker.
There was one of interest that could have possibly become a loan but his club want guaranteed minutes which NJ wouldn't offer to anyone.

Deleted it mate because the video was edited by somebody on twitter that was trying to portray NJ and Charlie in a bad light.
The section that has been put up on social media suggests that NJ told the board to sell Alfie and redeploy the money into other areas of the squad.
I think there is alot more to it than that but as I say the tweet was edited to give Nathan and the board a bad press.

As Charlie mentioned Nathan wanted to use the money from May on other areas on today’s podcast. Agree it’s not going to be as simple as that though. We do seem to have some people very keen to show our current owners in a bad light. Personally, I’m fine with the business we’ve done with our strikers. I think our striker options are some of the best (squad wise) in the league.

These "helmets" have failed to move on from the days of Meire, Sandgaard and those jokers in between. Throughout the last decade we've had nonsense from the boardroom with the occasional decent season on the pitch. They've honed their conspiracy theories and rhetoric over the years, but simply haven't noticed that CAFC is now run by executives and management in their 40s and 50s... with decades of EFL experience. Many admired both Dobson and May but they've moved on. And 2024 has seen us acquire some serious talent in both windows. Good enough to transform us into genuine top six contenders. Anybody can throw rocks! It takes a bit more consideration and thought to balance our desire for promotion with an appreciation of where we are today... and looking to what's next.

Birmingham have £1m bid accepted for QPR's Scottish International striker Lyndon Dykes.
Don't see the point when they have Jutkiewicz. Now there's a striker I like. He can come to the Valley on-loan anytime he likes.

Now with a few signings and some wins under the belt I 100% agree..

Millwall lost at home to Orient tonight in the League Cup.
The scum are really struggling. They bought in Langstaff tonight for his full debut having only played a combined 8 minutes as a sub twice so far this season.
Too big a hike for him I think from L2 to the Championship. Makes you wonder whether they may bring in another striker and send him out on loan to a L1 club.
NJ was there tonight too. Pehaps an Orient player caught his eye on the opening day?
