Maybe we get a goal keeper and centre back on loan by Friday night?. That's probably what will happen, but it would be nice to try and build on the good start we're currently having. Squad is stronger no doubt, but would be nice to let NJ add some serious quality, not just cover. With the clock ticking im sure there will be some twists and turns, hopefully we're in a position that if a deal presents itself we can at least look at it.

Fraser? Taylor? Asimwe goes out on loan? Kanu loan? Sounds about right, we live in hope. Think if we don't shift any out we won't get any in.

Millwall lost at home to Orient tonight in the League Cup. The scum are really struggling. They bought in Langstaff tonight for his full debut having only played a combined 8 minutes as a sub twice so far this season. Too big a hike for him I think from L2 to the Championship. Makes you wonder whether they may bring in another striker and send him out on loan to a L1 club. NJ was there tonight too. Pehaps an Orient player caught his eye on the opening day? perhaps NJ has been told about an Millwall player. Doubt anything will get him too excited from their performance tonight. Horrendous according to Cawley. Bradshaw also got. Bad hamstring injury too.

Does make me Laugh. There’s a reason Harris was managing Gillingham only a year ago. I thought it was smart decision to bring him back for a relegation scrap, but sentiment always seems to bite you in the backside. Not sure why he wasn’t given a short term contract.

Quite nice for one of our neighbours to feel like the basket case club for once! Would have quite liked Langstaff here but agree, straight to Championship (relegation battle?!) may be too much for him... Amusingly, Derby lost to Barrow too! Will be an interesting last few days of the window....Brum going for £1m+ on LD is madness...they could become the Chelsea of L1! I hope we see Fraser go home for his own sake as much as ours, TT must be off, and then the young lads out on L2 loans....but what we bring in will be fascinating... have to assume Potts is dead in the water, still lots of good players available - for the first time in recent memory though, I'm not actually too worried about deadline day!

He played in the free agent match v Cambridge yesterday apparently. I doubt he’d have played if we were interested. He’d be on trial with us instead I’d imagine.

I just can’t see him being a NJ player myself….and we already have Dixon to come in when he is ready……

But a knee injury has put a halt to his development. Very versatile can play in the wing and in the middle of the pitch in an 8 and 10. But he only featured about 18 times for Oxford last season. He just needs to be playing week in week out at this stage of his career so I doubt even if there was interest from our side he would entertain it, due to how many options we have in midfield

Oxford United manager Karl Robinson praised the player upon his arrival at the club, stating, "He is technically very good, he sees a pass and will score goals so he is very talented and we know there were a lot of clubs chasing him."
Upon his arrival at the Teesside-based club, Middlesbrough manager Jonathan Woodgate stated, "Marcus is an exciting, hungry young player who wants to come and play for this football club. He's just what we need. He can play in three different positions and he is quick. I watched a lot of games for Oxford last season and he's not only the type of player we want here, but he's also the type we can improve, and he will get better."

In the closing hours of the window,I wonder if SE7 can push the boat out a bit more? The window has been a success and I agree with NJ's assessment that we are a MUCH stronger squad now. Or....more likely if we find ourselves in the mix we might be able to go big in Jan.

We have a 27 man squad at the moment. How many threads are you going to ask that question on? League One clubs are limited to a 22-man squad, HOWEVER that number does not include goalkeepers or players who were under the age of 21 at the start of the calendar year. Some of the guys yesterday counted 17 not 27.

We have 17 squad players As so many u20 And two keepers Hopefully edun, fraser,Taylor go soon Hopefully they go so as to play first team football elsewhere. Why rush to fill the squad up to the 22 player limit? Nathan Jones and others will know far more about what part Leaburn and Dixon might play from October onwards... and surely we want to leave space for a couple of additions next January. As posted before, it's impossible to tell where we are wrt to the competition today. But we will all have a clearer picture after ten games, especially the owners! If they are willing to spend more then it should surely be on players who are better than we already have... and that will not come cheap. Fourth favourites with the bookies for promotion is far more than many expected just a few months ago. However we watch the Reading game (and September etc), let's just see what this squad can deliver.

Even says he was at Wigan when he wasn't! Loopy! I’ve always found his insight into team matters and especially the youngsters very helpful Fact is he runs his own little forum that has at least half a dozen threads that abuse people on this forum and he allows it. There are even threads with that have the forum name of posters on here in the title and he still allows it. He's a clown. He doesn't watch the youngsters like he claims just like he wasn't at Wigan. He reads websites and posts things as his own. Anyway he's happy where he is now talking more porkies to his captive audience of 8 plus Royston, the Petts Wood bottle job! Back to the rumours eh, that's enough of the facts!
