Campbell isn’t a DM though. Pretty sure that’s where Jones played him when he brought him to Luton……according to Luton fans feedback….. Feedback was that his main strengths were his pressing and energy getting around the pitch out of possession……A definite NJ type of player….. Not sure where Millwall played him but he only lasted 12 games on loan before they stopped selecting him……and he hasn’t played a game since this loan move…..A Millwall fan who posts on this forum previously said he wasn’t rated over there…..maybe they didn’t play him in his best position like Dobson at Sunderland maybe?…… Would be interesting to hear the views of anyone else who has watched him play as I think he will be with us by Friday…… Breakdown of his Championship appearances for Luton & Millwall below Central Midfield | 31 games | 4 Goals | 2 Assists Attacking Midfield | 24 Games | 2 Goals | 2 Assists Defensive Midfield | 16 Games | 1 Goal | 1 Assist

Strangely enough we need a Joe Aribo Mark Kinsella 👌👍 Yes mate I agree. Half of the Premier League clubs would take a fully fit Mark Kinsella.

Strangely enough we need a Scott Fraser .. Strangely enough, Fraser doesn't have the engine or ability to run at players, which is required for the system Jones plays. If you put Fraser in there, the press from the front wouldn't be as effective. I’d rather have Fraser from Cheers playing for us.

My friend Dundee and he reckons their top earner is 1500 quid a week,so quite a bit difference.

Let’s just make him train with the U21s and make a statement. That way the next useless waste of space player we sign on big money will realise that we won’t be taken for mugs.
Next summer, when Mr Fraser is 30, and hasn’t played, much, in two years, and retires, the next chancer in the queue will believe us when we say that we won’t pay c.£5,000 a week for him to play for someone else.
We can, probably, finish his career if he doesn’t get sensible about his severance pay. We need to make a stand to stop this happening again, and again!

There is very little we can do if he decides to fulfil his contract by training and playing as required. The solution may be for the club to pay up his contract or negotiate a settlement of some kind.

As much as it is frustrating, that Fraser may be holding firm, we can’t blame the guy.
Some were quick to (rightly or wrongly) have a go at previous players not fulfilling their contracts when we were relegated from the champ. We can’t have it both ways, and have go that he’s fulfilling his contract, especially if it doesn’t suit our needs/narrative.
If Fraser is happy to train or play (if called upon) he isn’t doing anything wrong.
Ultimately, the club, granted an old regime, offered him remuneration, for a certain contract length.
I agree with others, in that, Fraser probably needs to move on a personal level, to keep his career ticking along. However, if his family is in Scotland, the clubs towards that way, probably will not want to pick up the tab for his wages, so the clubs that fit the criteria is scarce.

Following on from your last paragraph, if the player wants to move to Scotland and play for a club that will only pay him 20% of what he is on now, he can take a pay cut or get used to seeing his children on FaceTime for the next nine months. Or, his family can move back down to London. I don’t see why our club should pay him c. £250k to leave. However I am, now, beginning to sound very spiteful so I’ll not comment on this subject again.

We certainly do need some cover in that department with only really Anderson on the bench, NJ will like to rotate as we do play a high energy pressing game…..Luton fans really rate him and ORourke said previously that other clubs were after him so it was probably the Jones effect which has swayed him to join our project…… Look forward to seeing what he can do……

I’d imagine he’ll have had a word in Campbell’ ear.

I still think we need an attacking player. If not a CAM then a different type of striker than we have.

Yep…Berry hasn’t played that much football in the last year or so so we need cover for him…..and we are not sure at this stage when Dixon will be ready for first team football…… Maybe we can get PL or Championship loan in to share the load in that position with Berry

All the signs were there that he'd be joining us and according to O'Rourke that is the case. Nothing at my end but Cawley has since backed it up.

Hoping potts will sign this week just need to get out. Fraser on loan at least Edun sell Taylor sell Asimwee on loan to a second division side. Then in coming campbell, potts and finally a goal keeper. Then xmas when top of table brings in couple bug signings on loan from higher divisions to smash it.

Looks a bit like the feisty, wee, Scotsman, who can start a fight in an empty room. Love it! Seen a highlights package, and one clip shows him picking up the ball from just outside Luton's box, and taking the ball about 70 yards before passing the ball on. Which is what many of us have identified as the one thing our midfield lacks. However, after Saturday, I can't see him ousting any of the starting midfield three, which implies a squad player. Nothing wrong with that, but does go against NJ's previous comments about loans as only an improvement on what we have... Perhaps there's a concern about Berry, in his 30s, not being able to play such high tempo football week in, week out. I don't know the length of Campbell's contract (he signed for Luton in 2021). But, if it runs until the end of THIS season, it may mean we can sign him on a free...

With Campbell signing guess Jones will use him to rotate the midfield.

Can’t say I know a lot about him, but looks like a good signing on paper. Had a look at his stats on Transfermarkt and he started 38 games in the 22/23 season for Luton, which saw them promoted from the championship.
Interestingly, 15 of those starts were as an attacking midfielder. It seems like he’s able to play across the 3 midfield positions, but he also to have a bit more going forward than Doc/Coventry.

Proper Nathan Jones signing, great engine and roughly on par with Doc/Berry imo who are proving to be a solid midfield in this league. I agree it's more of the same but it's the Jones style. We'll see how it's really operating once we lose a game or two and need to try something new.

Would be happy with the Campbell loan signing. Presumably means Taylor can go on loan (or sell, but hopefully just loan).

Charlton Athletic have had an offer accepted to sign Stockport County striker Isaac Olaofe.
The fee is believed to exceed £750k and the Addicts are keen to replace Alfie May who left for Birmingham.
Olaofe’s agents have opened talks with the South London club with the striker keen to move back to his hometown.
