Unless I missed it we didn’t see Dixon in the retro shirt. So more incoming.. It's will be Campbell in the retro shirt.Google Alan Campbell of years ago .Charlton player retro shirt. Was one of my favourites until he left us for Birmingham I believe 🤔

Reading between the lines I can see a mutual agreement to a parting of the ways for between the club and Scotty Fraser.
He has every right to stay and see out his comntract. He isn't refusing to play for us, instead he's been frozen out.
However he is doing this at a risk to his career. If a loan move doesn't materialise for him he will be in danger of being another player that drifts into the footballing wilderness.
A mutual parting of the ways would be best for everyone.

Bournemouth and Republic of Ireland goalkeeper Mark Travers will be made available on loan once the Cherries bring in a new No.1 keeper. #afcb
If we are still looking for a GK ?

Who was it that laughed at me the other week when I suggested we take a look at Louis Barry, the Aston Villa AM/STR?
Scored for Stockport again today and that's three for the season already, a goal a game.

Mentioned Travers and fellow keeper Will Dennis a few weeks ago. Travers had a short stay at Stoke last season, while Dennis was ever present for Kilmarnock. Either would be decent if we still want an experienced goalie.

So with NJ saying we'll be active this week what do we still need having now seen three games of the season.
I think that Kanu's non-involvement in any of the last two games, he should go out on loan and bring in a striker that can really put the pressure on the strikers we have.
All of our frontmen have a question mark over them in terms of fitness apart from Ahadme and TC. Ahadme isn't here to score 20+ goals and TC despite showing glimpses is still learning a new position. He won't get into double figures either though.
I also feel we need a player in the engine room who can put his foot on the ball and drive us forward and shoot on sight.
I honestly think we are ok everywhere else apart from a back up keeper obviously.

With the caveat that I haven't seen us kick a ball yet this season, I'd like to see:
- Another striker - A back-up keeper - A creative central midfielder who can drive forward and pick out a pass
I'd be okay with all three of these being young loan players too

Why I wouldn't let Kanu go out on loan...
We now have 2 Jamaican internationals to be called up for international duty, in Dixon and Anderson.
Who would be the third?
If we keep Kanu, he is likely to be called up for Sierra Leone, meaning we can call off a game, as three are called up.
And, yes, I know some don't like postponements for international games, but they'll soon change their minds, when we have 3 injuries, and 2 suspensions, and get trounced by Leyton Orient or Burton Albion etc etc...

The CAM roll sticks out to me but Berry has been very good in that position last 2 games and got a goal. I think another play that can get us up the pitch finding those pockets will be good compared .

- A creative central midfielder who can drive forward and pick out a pass Doesn't necessarily have to be a creative type. Using some Belgian players as an example: Fellaini, Radja Nainggolan, Marc Wilmots, ... guys who give everything and make war 90 minutes long. With a decent pass but at the same time also showing up in the box. Or a Dobson with good feet.

Strangely enough we need a Scott Fraser .. Strangely enough, Fraser doesn't have the engine or ability to run at players, which is required for the system Jones plays. If you put Fraser in there, the press from the front wouldn't be as effective.

Loans out: Kanu, Casey & Asiimwe PL/High Championship Loans in: Striker cover, CM cover & Fullback cover (who can play both sides if possible) Perms Out: Fraser, Edun, Maynard-Brewer Perms In: Backup GK then depending on loans, sufficient quality to cover ST, CM, RWB/LWB & CM is essential.

Interesting reading the fans feedback on a possible target Allan Campbell who seems highly rated by Luton fans……the feed back is that he is excellent out of possession, tracks runs, presses extremely well……..Now that is an NJ type of player…..

Given our superb start to the league season I really hope the club is bold in its approach in the final days of this transfer window. There is room for improvement so hopefully by showing a bit of ambition, on top of the business already undertaken, the club can consolidate and maybe exciting times are ahead.
Not that I’m saying I know what the answer is, just that now is probably the best time to be involved with the club, in whatever category, for quite a long time.
I might even even be tempted to try and get to The Valley for a game, if my legs will allow!🤣🤣

Strangely enough we need a Joe Aribo Mark Kinsella 👌👍 Yes mate I agree. We look like we may well be bringing in an another CDM option in Campbell but my concern is at the offensive part of our midfield and how many games we can get out of Berry this season….if he was to get injured or suspended we really need another option there if Dixon is going to get introduced gradually this season as per Jones comments about him getting up to speed pysically….

I don't think we bring a huge number in for the rest of this window (Campbell, Potts and a keeper to challenge Mannion, plus maybe one or two PL punts on loan).
However, I also have one eye on the January window now too. If (a) Joe Gomez moves on or around deadline day and (b) we are in amongst the top six come Xmas, I can see us buying two or three real marquee signings (ie £1m-£2m a pop players) in January.
This for the simple reason that we'll have the funds for transfer fees and SCMP wage increases from the Gomez money (which will be somewhere between £5m and £10m) and it's so much easier to spend big in League One when there's no FFP loss limits, compared to waiting until after you're promoted to the Championship.
Spending big at this level to be Championship-ready (the so-called Ipswich or Birmingham approach) makes a lot of sense and if Gomez moves I can see us having a glamorous January in the transfer market. The fact that the press (eg Cawley) have already said we're lining up a £1.5m January move for Mihaly Kata (Hungarian international and 22-year-old captain of a top three side there) suggests this too.

Campbell isn’t a DM though. Pretty sure that’s where Jones played him when he brought him to Luton……according to Luton fans feedback….. Feedback was that his main strengths were his pressing and energy getting around the pitch out of possession……A definite NJ type of player….. Not sure where Millwall played him but he only lasted 12 games on loan before they stopped selecting him……and he hasn’t played a game since this loan move…..A Millwall fan who posts on this forum previously said he wasn’t rated over there…..maybe they didn’t play him in his best position like Dobson at Sunderland maybe?…… Would be interesting to hear the views of anyone else who has watched him play as I think he will be with us by Friday……

Think Campbell could cover both the Coventry and Docherty roles so would tick the yes box for me. As said above cover in the more offensive role is needed should Berry get injured or likely to accumulate enough bookings to get suspended. Ethan Chislett has been mentioned but not sure if that was an actual rumour or just a name banded about, but he looks like the type of player who would weigh in with both goals and assists.

Why are we posting details of Jake Young's move to Fleetwood on here?
Yes there was talk of him last season but can we keep iut to our own rumours please because people see links and automatically assume it's about a player we are interested in.

Fast forward to end November and Jones will have been in charge for 10 months, with this new look squad having played nigh on 20 games together. We'll all have a better idea of how we're going plus how close to the top two we might be. And those marquee signings will be what's required to further improve our prospects. In other words it's gonna take significant fees and wages to continue improving at this rate. Ideally the owners, sponsors and fans all chip in so as to maximise our promotion chances!
