I think with what happened to Edwards yesterday, any plans to sell Edun will have gone out of the window...
You still need cover for every position, and until we know how bad Edwards injury is, he will be needed to cover for Small.
However alarming that idea is.

I was told yesterday Asmir Begovic signs once we have moved 1 or 2 out. So he obviously hasn’t got a better offer/ wages elsewhere……🤣🤣 I would personally stick with Mannion and bring in a couple of game changers further up the field Was any rumours of Fleck or Bradshaw mentioned at all mate?

We just have to hope Small doesn’t get injured either…..😀 We are only a couple of knocks away from having Edun and Anderson as our midfield engine room……😳……That’s a bit scary…….

Early days for Mannion, but looks assured and forming bonds with the back line. We can't tie up funds in Begovic!?,Bradshaw played and scored yesterday, even if we could tempt him over Wrexham somehow are Millwall likely to let him go? Might have more luck with Harry Cornick as he was a sub again yesterday.

Can’t see any way we sign another striker unless they’ve had the nod that Leaburn is on his way. Ahadme, Godden, Leaburn and a bit part from Aneke is strong. The only issue I’ve got with this side seems to be a bit of a lack of cutting edge. I must admit I was definitely not in the creative midfielder camp as they always seem like a compromise on work ethic. But if we can get a decent loan we’ll be flying!

Agreed well stocked up front now Godden fit , we will look at lot better up top with two strikers working their soaks off instead of just one .. Hylton still at the club if we need to register him to play .

I wasn’t able to get to the game on Saturday because of a prior commitment, but in our first two matches it seems things have worked out largely as we might have expected. We’ve played aggressive, in your face football with a lot of long ball and it’s bit fairly unattractive fare. We’ve been hard to play against though, hard to beat and hard to score against, but we’ve lacked creativity and have struggled to create chances. The Xg in both of our League games so far has been less than one.
As I suggested in an earlier post on this thread, we’re not going to change our style of play so the question is how can we recruit so that we become more effective in our chosen style of play? It’s not obvious we need to strengthen at the back, though more depth is always helpful, or that we’re likely to add (yet) another striker. We don’t need another pivot either, except as back up to Coventry in the event Taylor goes. Hence, it seems the club could improve our chances of making the top six most by improving in one or both of the two advanced midfield positions, i.e. at ‘8’. What type of player might that be though?
Reflecting on the players we’ve had in recent seasons, the closest to an identikit for what might work best is the Conor Gallagher of the first half of the 2019-20 season. Obviously, it’s entirely unrealistic to expect to sign someone that good, but he’s the type of player who might make the most difference. He can press high, he’s got bags of energy and he can put a foot in while at the same time he can create and score goals. He’s not a fluent, pass and move footballer though and nor is he a clever ten who can pick a pass and open up a defence.
To be clear, I’m not suggesting we should try to sign the next Conor Gallagher. That would be entirely unrealistic. I’m just trying to sketch out the type of player we might benefit from signing.

I saw the game on Sky and agree with your observations… we out ran Orient and like Birmingham they cramped up. This gives us a platform to play from …. The only player I saw that could do a Gallagher within our price range was Alex Gilbey, and ultimately he wasn’t a success probably due to the wrong skill mix in the team and constant management changes. I’m not saying that we should resign Gilbey, what I am saying that we now have the right balance and style, so there must be box to box players available within the football pyramid to do this… NJ did find them at Luton ….. anyway the window is still open

The guy's name is Brendan Wiredu. Yet to see him play in goal but he will excel anywhere else on the pitch. For us he was always driving forward with the ball. I believe for Fleetwood he is currently LCB and scored at the weekend in a MotM appearance.

Plymouth are looking to offload/loan out Callum Wright an attacking midfielder. Good player in my opinion, one we should be looking at.

Just waiting for work permit clearance which could very well be by the end of this week. The kid is chomping at the bit to be involved. He was at the game on Saturday and sat watching it with Miles. He's a raw talent and could get thrown in much sooner than what most people think. I do think we have missed a trick though. Personally I would have hung fire with announcing the third kit and waiting a couple more days and then let him be the face who is revealing it. Just think that would have given the kid a world of confidence before he's even kicked a ball.

Charlton willing to let young talent Nathan Asiimwe to go out on loan with a number of EFL and SPL clubs interested in him. The right-back broke into the Charlton first-team last season making 23 appearances. #

Hopefully if we were to let Asiimwe go on loan maybe we don't think Edward's injury is as bad as first thought. May well be wishful thinking on my part.
