It first came from Steve Wisdom on CL. I think that is where West stand got it from. I really don't care where the information comes from. After all it is not a competition. I think Steve put a cryptic post up on CL that Weststand accredited him with it on here like most people should when they share somebody else's information, and from that weststand guessed who it might be and put the players name up on here which was a great call. Many thanks Reams and yes that's exactly what happened. Swisdom dropped a very loose hint on CL that could have been one of several players (3-4 different names offered by other CL posters). I just did a bit of online digging into various possible names. From this I discovered Barnsley forums had been talking about expecting Karl Hein on a season loan for the last couple of days. This made clear that Arsenal were looking for a L1 loan for him and given our geographic advantages (close to parent club, no need to move, probably not much of an Estonian community in Barnsley!), I realised we were in pole position to gazump them so that must be who Swisdom was alluding to. Full credit to him for the hint, I just followed it around Google a bit (one of my jobs is internet research for true crime and history TV shows, so hopefully I know how to Google!). |

Tough one for the lad. Go and play in La Liga where the weather is 3 degrees C higher all year round or play in the English third division where it is very cold from November to March. |

It's getting silly now regarding signing a new keeper.
Most premier league clubs have at least 4 or 5 on their books .
Surely it can't be that hard to lone a young promising keeper and offer them firteam football for a year.
Or maybe it is.

Wish we’d have got this goalkeeper situation sorted out much earlier in the Transfer Window.
Would have been good to have the goalkeeper getting to know his defence when the squad were in Slovenia.

To many GK targets messing around, I would stick with Mannion now and move on to other position targets.

So as it stands (and these are just ones we know about):
Ruddy - turned us down to be third choice at Newcastle
Walton - turned us down to be third choice at Ipswich
Davies - dicked us about then failed his Charlton medical
Sinisalo - could have joined us but hung around waiting for Celtic
Begovic - has been on our radar all summer but turned down our offers due to wages
Hein - whilst trying to gazump Barnsley we ourselves got gazumped by Valladolid
I'm assuming there must have been a few more we spoke to that we haven't heard about, so we must be down to say our 10th choice by now.
Given that we're overloaded with strikers, I say try Aneke (6'3") out in goal until Leaburn (6'6") is ready to play there.

The keeper doesn't worry me. It's the easiest position to fill with quality IMO - there's loads of credible keepers out there who are well down the pecking orders at their clubs.
