I don’t think GK is as important as a CAM, that’s the missing piece for me. Gives us a another angle rather than relying on small and Ramsey to get us up the pitch

I thought we'd be looking at a Sonny Bradley and Harry Cornick reunion with NJ to join Berry and show the others this is how we do things,might be a bit crude to try and call it Luton 2.0,but they would beef up the mooted 8 "elite" for this level players.

Barry absolutely wouldn’t, way below the level what is required. Scarr perhaps, but Wrexham have got a good pull. I’ve seen you say recently that the signings we’ve made are not adding quality? That’s absolutely not true, even without seeing them kick a ball competitively. Berry, Godden, Ahadme, Mitchell, Docherty are all good replacements, if not better. I agree with you in that we’re short in a couple of areas, especially that attacking midfield position. But if we can pick up a couple of shrewd signings in the back end of the window then, we will have a significantly better team than we had at the start of the year. Regarding the bigger players we’ve been linked to and not managed to get over the line, this happens to every club. Sometimes you try and you fail. I think this year we’ve been a lot more successful in getting our targets.

Used to be a scout for a professional football club not that it's got anything to do with you.

Last season after the first game of the season I was invited to put a name or two forward while talking to two of the owners in the boardroom. I did so with Divin Mubama as I have posted on here many times since. It's why I gave up on our conversation last night because with respect when push comes to shove we are not on the same page.

Had a bit more info on Davies tonight. He was a done deal but then coming down for weeks. Eventually when he did he failed his medical which begs the question did he know that would be the case hence why he put it off for as long as he could.

We did end our search at that point because we thought we had found our man so when he pulled out we had to start again with our search. NJ was fuming.

He let us down big time and resigned for Sheff Utd on an injury related contract.

Louis Barry is fine but he not top end league one and I don't feel like he would fit are style of play.

Saying that I have not see him play since he was at Mk Don and he played for two other clubs since then. So a lot can change in that time.

Stockport's got them promoted last season and they will be top 8 this season too so maybe it's our style of play that is the reason Barry won't fit.

Fraser is moving back up to Scotland on loan next week. That's all I have at the moment. We know about Dundee but I believe Motherwell are interested too.

I have just said I have not seen Barry, play since he was at MK dones, witch at the time they where a possession based team under Liam Manning. He struggled to make a impact at MK dones and Ipswich Town in league one where he was played as a left insider forward for both clubs.

I mean he's position is already a problem for me because he likes to play on the left. Maybe a solution for this is you could use him in free role behind the front two for a plan B but he would not come here and get in the first 11. Again I have not seen him play since he was at MK dons.

I don't feel he could play up top because Jones, likes a front two partnership. A finisher that is physical. With a channel running, area monster that can bring others in to play. So that why I don't think he will fit our system and does not fits the profiles that Jones, used at Luton.

I'm not sure he the robust enough to be a top player at this level but all he can do is keep working hard and prove me wrong and that may improve with age because he only 21.

First Barry is still an Aston Villa player, if they didn't rate him they would be selling him not loaning him out.

Secondly he didn't end up at Barcelona for nothing. They saw something in him they liked and took the kid over there. He'll never play in La Liga or the EPL but with the right club and the right coaching he could be a Championship player by the time he is 23. He has age on his side for him to develop the potential he clearly has.

You mention his time at Ipswich and MK Dons. He played 2 and 22 games respectively but you say he struggled to make an impact at both clubs. By your reckoning are you saying that all of our new signings have just 20 odd games to prove themselves?

You also touch on the fact that he may prove you wrong and improve. He's still only 21, he's a kid and his stats from last season already suggest that he's a better player than what he was a year earlier which you have used his figures to write him off.

He went to Barcelona as a 17-year-old in 2019 where he made ten competitive under-19 appearances in the league and UEFA Youth League. He scored twice as Barcelona won the U19 league championship. A few months after that he left the club because Covid wiped out the youth season and he returned to the UK to sign for Aston Villa.

I think he would thrive at a club like ours and I have no doubt that the majority of Charlton fans would have liked to have seen him here this summer. I'm one of them.

Where does he fit in are system and because he not the profile that Jones goes for up top?

All players adjust differently to adapt to league ,style,physicality and environment.

I’d say we are pretty much set barring a couple of loans and maybe a keeper. I’m curious as to why people think we need another midfielder? I think there is plenty of quality between Coventry, Taylor, Berry, Docherty and potentially Anderson. If they ship Fraser out maybe space for one more? I can see Godden dropping a bit deeper anyway.
