Its looking like midfield three from Coventry, Berry, Taylor and Bishop, with Campbell and Godden options at 10 and Zach at CDM. Kedwell & Huke may feature initially in cups. Casey style also smacks of a 10. Do we really need another CM? If so, who drops out of 1st XI?

Most of the players names I have see suggested on forums or social media don't fit the system or style. Just be patient and put some trusted in the manager because he is happy witch is the most important thing and there will be more movement that's for sure. |

Two players I would love to see us bring in on loan are Will Lankshear the Spurs striker who is having a cracking pre-season, and/or John McAtee at Luton.
Think Potts might be the missing CB which leaves just a keeper who we are willing to part with good money for.

Just getting a few out to free up wages AND assessing what we have in the friendlies. Six weeks is a long time to recruit three quality players, including a keeper. It's not just individual quality as we need players who will fit in with the squad and Jones' approach to the game. |

Potts will be signing for us. personally think he is a good signing. Looked decently sharp albeit only half an hour which he played. Some complain about his injuries but I feel when playing a 3 whilst it is ideal to have a set starting 3 that 3rd centre half role is usually up for grabs and can change throughout a season. Good signing imo. Personally hope we do sign bishop aswell. |

NJ has said the following after today's friendly at Palace: “We’re looking for a left-sided centre-half,” said Jones. “Dan Potts has done fantastically well for me. He’s had a number of promotions, played in the Premier League, so the pedigree is there. It’s just about making sure we can get enough of what we need out of him. It’s not a trial, he’s just training with us. He’s having a look at us, we’re having a look at him, but if Dan’s fit and ready to go, then he’s a wonderful acquisition.”
The heads up I got ties in with this but just to add, I was told to keep an eye out for his name on the teamsheet in one of the pre-season friendlies because that happens it's as good as done.

If Potts is signing you got to think Reg, Ness or Mac will be on their way out. We have a a lot of defensive options. I would really like a Collins, Dembele, Azeez crying out for a creative midfield

Good thing about possibly signing Potts and bishop is whilst they can be classed as late signings, because they’ve been on trial before we have signed them they have good some what of a pre season under their belt, especially bishop. So hopefully they are not like the usual late signings we make that are unfit and haven’t kicked a ball.

I thought right back at the beginning of the recruitment process that NJ would be looking to recruit experienced leaders within the team because Dobson aside we were lacking in this area last year…..To date we have brought in Mitchell( who has captained us in this preseason) Docherty ( who had captained at Hull) and now it looks like Potts could well be joining who was captain previously at Luton…….You also have Berry and Godden with their experience ……..There is a pattern here and a very good one in my view…….

We were willing to pay a very decent fee for Sinisalo but he chose Celtic. I'm hopeful we will spend the same amount on another target though while I imagine Bishop and Potts will join us and that might be it. I wouldn't expect more than that. We need to shift 3 sounds 5 or 6 out though. Yesterday's friendly and those before it have shown that the current size of our squad is too big. We have played two 11's and still had players missing out. I think we really do need another striker (Lankshear or McAtee on loan) a goalscoring midfielder, a left sided CB and a keeper. |
