Maybe he's managed to convince them that he can turn everything around. Admittedly that would be one heck of a comeback if he was able too. Or hasn't agreed a financial package probably after more money.

Fleming took training this morning with Pearce. MA not at Sparrows Lane. Some on CL are saying he took training as normal. In other news - Lord Montague is still obsessed with you Reams. This isn't really news though I guess. He's been infactuated by you for some time. Not seen him post about anything but you tbh. I see Lord Montagu and a couple of the resident wallys are having a pop. Fortunately Charlton Life has a famously strong Moderator, who doesn’t allow this sort of thing. 🫢

If Appleton has gone, this must have been something on owners minds for a while rather than a snap decision. But then that would make hiring Fleming so recently even stranger. Don't get me wrong I hope he has gone because he didn't seem to care about Charlton anyway. Looked mostly disinterested from day one. But players like Coventry and Fiorini say they came to us because of him. How will that impact them and their desire to play for us? Other than hopefully being professional and the fact we are paying their wages. Maybe always to say, that you came in because of the manager, sounds better than because of the financial package. Exactly... practically a staple in every new player interview to hear "I spoke to the gaffer and loved his plans, etc.".

Totally baffled. I have asked if SE7 'bottled it?' I added 'Have the Americans said if we have to pay yet more compo certain heads will have to roll too?' Like me, there are other people out there right now who are totally gobsmacked. The official confirmation was going to happen today. It’s one almighty screw up inside the club. All the right people were saying from Saturday night onwards that he had been told it was over. The only thing I can think of is that the investors are baulking at another pay off.

Sometimes (ok most of the time) I despair of my club. Two things will happen tomorrow now. 1. It will be a very low turn out for the match. 2. Those who do turn up (me included) will cheer the team on but the minute the inevitable total collapse happens, the atmosphere will switch and the vitriol will be directed at MA.
MA with his hands in his pockets and SE7 with their heads in the clouds as we slide towards a potential relegation and the damage that will cause.

We used to be the envy of teams on how to operate how times have changed we’re a basket case of a club probably can’t afford to sack him. More like can’t afford to not sack him.

Toxic atmosphere tomorrow if we don't perform. I'll be cheering the boys on (from the sofa) but Crappleton will get no respect from me.

Well the SMT only have themselves to blame tomorrow if the shit hits the fan. The owners have stumped up the dough for transfers fair play but my nan could get more out of this set of players than him. It will be so toxic tomorrow, they must know that. There isn’t any coming back from this for Appleton. Baffling!!

He not sacked until the legal part is agreed by both parties ..would suggest talks and settlement still being sorted especially if our lawyers are in the USA … so there no reason why he should not go through the motions of being manager , officially he still employed and being paid

Some managers have been given a stay of execution based on their personalities and rapport with the fans. Peeters and Holden are good examples.
Appleton has done nothing to endear himself to the fanbase since day one.
