Asked a friend what he felt about Dave Challinor. This was his reply,
“Good record but believe he is north west based. Stockport chairman has the money to match Charlton. Really don't see him moving south.”
Good call it seems. Not great from our perspective, but perhaps not quite the slap in the face for SE7 some have assumed.

These are people at the end of the day. I bet when a manager job comes up loads of people are considered for the role and are approached but may decide against it for other reasons other than just the footballing ones. |

There no confirmation he was offered the position ?? It's all over Stockport that he turned us down so he was either offered it and said no or decided himself that having listened to what we had to say he decided that it was in the best interests of both parties not let it reach that stage. |

Think it is too quick for him to be offered the job but it is possible that we approached Stockport to speak to him and they said yes and he said not interested in the same way Ferguson turned us down.

Think we will end up with Cowley personally Me too. I think the Challoner rumours are bollocks. Unless we are totally unprofessional and gone and leaked a managers name while others are yet to be interviewed or some have and think they are in with a shout, then I don't believe anyone has been selected as the special one yet. |

If youre a current manager, you've convinced players to join your club, trying to puruade others to sign, talked potential leavers to stay. Is it a major surprise that you're going to think very hard before jumping ship and joining the uncertainty at Charlton? Let's hope there's a cunning plan.
