Very happy, makes you wonder why the likes of AMB and Holden are committing to us. Recent history shows us to be budget-less and being run like a circus. Can only hope indicators point to a takeover.

I'm pleased about Holden signing. Gives some stability and he's not a bad coach. Surprised though he signed such a long term considering we're in this unknown period unless something is close. Although even if Sandgaard were to be staying long term in solo charge he surely has to realise we needed some stability in the management team.
Just praying for some much needed investment in the team this summer now.

I’m really hopeful that Dean wouldn’t have stayed unless he has had reassurances of a properly run club going forwards.

This news combined with AMB on a long term deal and the post match discussion with Curbs sum up where we are right now.
"We've got to stop making mistakes with signings" says Curbs... echoing Riga back in January 2016.
"Players have to play well to be part of Dean's plans next season. If they're not on it then they need to sort it ahttt"
Unfortunately the SMT today is mainly identical to last summer, albeit Holden in for Garner and the addition of Storrie.
Still hoping for a brand new SMT and higher budgets but that's another thread.

We will soon see the first announcements about who has been offered an extension and who is leaving. From there we can infer some of the SMT thinking. Storrie talked to a top six challenge last week but ST sales won't take off until quality arrives / announcements are made. Ideally new owners and new SMT before too long. |

I've posted already about the back five, midfield and front three - surely we would all retain Leaburn, Campbell and Rak-Sakyi if we could?! Without repeating myself, our central issue has been the pace, quality and precision of midfield - think Cullen, Bielik, Pratley, Aribo and the rest of our promotion side. Morgan and Payne not good enough for a top six effort IMO. |

I like the way Holden has done the man management part of it by the way he has dealt with the Bonne and Gilbey situations and he gets the current connection between the fans and the club.
However it must be noted that at times we have been all over the place at the back, conceding goals out of no where when we have actually been playing well and this cannot continue next season if we are to compete for top 6
I think the only time to judge Holden is when he has recruited his squad for next season and if he offers new contracts to out of contract players who have so heavily been involved in such a mediocre season would not be a great start IMHO

Interesting stuff,A peek behind the curtain at Brentford should be beneficial in all aspects as they are a club we should aim to emulate IMHO. If Dean can learn,take ideas from VERY good continental coaches and apply them to us then great. |

I really like his approach and willingness to learn from the best and put the effort in to actually reach out and ask for advice from those at the top of their game.
Could be a star man in the future if he continues with this focus.

I wasn’t happy when his name was mentioned but I have to say I have been absolutely ecstatic to have been proven wrong. Considering what he’s had to work with (and against) he has been phenomenal. I’d even suggest that had he been here from August we’d have flirted with the playoffs. He’s been one of the few high points of 22/23. Humble Pie thoroughly consumed on my part!
