Ipswich Town have just announced the signing of Rotherham’s Freddie Ladapo. The best striker we faced at the Valley last season. And certain people still claim that our rivals are not signing players while we are stuck in the blocks ? Exactly the sort of player we should be bringing in if we had any real ambition. Wake up Martin . No messing, they just went and recruited one of,If not the top marksmen of this level. Martin have a word and see if this free's up Chaplin, failing that bring JP home.

Probably no more than what Stockley and Fraser are on, Stockton is what we should be looking at I see Ipswich have started their recruitment process with real intent getting in Ladapo by paying the going rate obviously……sort of contradicts some comments on here about us being held up by agents…..maybe those agents just want their players to be paid the going rate rather than clubs trying to get them on the cheap…… I see names like Woodrow and Pigot being bandied about which is great, my heart says I would love us to be getting in this type of quality including Stockton…..my head though says we are more likely to be getting in the likes of John Marquis and Tom Eves…..as I say again I hope I am wrong…..

Your a bloody lair Ants , you know full well transfers don’t happen until mid June because all the agents and managers are on holiday. Ipswich must be telling porkies.

Spot on Auks. I had a look at the League One betting last night, and the bookies have us at 20/1 to win the league next season (they make us 10th favourites), which tells its own story with regards to how others perceive the strength of our club. Being charitable, we (still) have a nucleus of 5/6 players who could create the spine of a team that could have a decent season. We have around a month now to sign a manager and a coaching team, and then augment those 5/6 players with another 10 players minimum, who not only are better than the fodder that we have like “Gilbs” and Morgan and Jaiyesemi, but also, in 4/5 cases, go straight into our starting 11 and improve it. That becomes a bigger challenge by the day as the club drifts.

20/1 is well worth a score on us.

A further update on clubs who aren’t signing players.
Ipswich Town announce the signing of QPR’s 26 year old midfielder Dom Ball.
He played for QPR 20 times in the Championship last season.
Ipswich are last season’s Wigan Athletic.

You know TS would take £1.5mil for him. I told Reams after the POTY that Stockley wants out, and that Sandgaard is personally committed to signing Elliot this Summer. Let’s see.

What's going to happen here is TS will take the £1.5m for Stockley and bring in Tom Eaves on a free.

Stockley 20 goals in 30 appearances without the aid of our and out wingers. Don’t need a super black box for that stat.
If we let him go and left with a strike force of Eaves and Davidson then MS and TS have lost it.

Full of words like could potentially make a move, and may be interested.... Basically it reads like there is no news coming out of Wednesday, so The Star has just rehashesd an old story.

People still touting Tucker. We do not need another RCB with Lavelle, Inniss, Clare and Ness and other kids in the wings. We have zero LCBs. Another site mentions that Tobi Omole of Spurs is available. Looks very decent and has a decent left foot. A step up on Famewo.
I have my ST, but if we keep Stockley or buy Marquis or Eaves, I will probably not use it much. Guarantee of mid-table mediocrity playing hoofball. PX of Stockley for Stockton shouldn't be beyond us, especially if rumours of JS wanting out are true.

Elliot Lee. Loanee this season. Like Johniesta played out of position wide, but an effective 10 rather than a winger. Decent pedigree.
But TBH I'd prefer out and out pace upfront, CBT as a striker not wing back, and I think DJ has more potential than he showed. Oguntayo, Campbell and Kanu are all 18+ so should not be too young to play L1. Leaburn has more about him than Stockley, Marquis or Eaves if we want to play a press.

We have to be honest - Eaves is a 30 year old journeyman - described as a “Poundland Andy Carroll” when he played against us for the Gills. Marquis is worse, if anything. I don’t think anyone (well, maybe one person) can claim that either player is an adequate replacement for Stockley.

Don't usually refer to players with their first name, would've understood Lee...

It’s quite possible Kanu could be the answer up front which is why it’s so frustrating that JJ gave him about thirty seconds of game time when we had absolutely nothing to play for. He was one of a number of options that could have been looked at, and given experience, and that opportunity was wasted.

Good luck to him. Cant blame him for taking up the chance to move to a premier league side. This is the reality for cafc though. We are a club who produce talented youngsters who may have the chance to play at a higher level. Highly unlikely we will be in the prem anytime soon.
