Well played Lincoln, Gilbs should be in our matchday squad not theirs. Don't like players being bullied out of clubs. Looks like Maloney's antics are rubbing off on Garner a bit.

Don’t get the love in for him. He was a disaster last year (not the only one admittedly) sounds like you’re just anti all decisions made at present to reinforce your view on ownership

Wouldn't mind seeing Gilbey in a false 9 for 20 mins in the cup game. If we won't sign a striker, we can at least use the one central player who drives with the ball.

He had long covid, you should try it! Garner just doesn't fancy him full stop. H's better than some of the players who are getting selected of him that's for sure. Sorry if you feel hurt over my comments about Tommy Bullyboy.

Barnsley are looking to strengthen their attacking unit by making an offer for Salford City striker Brandon Thomas-Asante.
That is yet another L1 promotion candidate strengthening their attacking options.

I can only hope we have something going on behind the scenes, because at present we simply don't convert enough of what we've managed to create, choosing not to address that fact will end our chances of a top six challenge.

There’s a story on CAFC Twitter linking us with Oumar Niasse, who’s apparently a free agent having been released by Burton. He would be better than nothing, although it’s hard to see K&B coughing up for the 32 year old’s likely wage demands.

So who will you think we will get as the last-minute panic lone week? Will it be someone truly unforgettable like we have managed in the past and not in a good way? Or will it be someone we need and who has a bit of talent?

We know that the Sandgaard’s aka Ken & Barbie couldn’t care less about the fanbase and what we think, but I can’t wait to see their tortured explanation if we don’t sign a striker this week.
Either the Boy Martin’s famous Black Box has blown a fuse, or else “ we have Chuks about to return from his 98th career lay off”.

It’s still possible that the cavalry will appear on the horizon as the sun is beginning to set on September 1st, but it’s looking increasingly unlikely. If it does, it seems much more likely it will be of the Josh Parker or David Davis ilk than Josh Cullen or Krystian Bielik.
Ben Garner has been telling us he needs to move players on before he can strengthen his squad and therein lies the problem. The most damning indictment of the Sandgaard era so far is that despite his stated intention to profit from player trading he’s not yet signed a single player who is in high demand elsewhere. Nobody wants us to sell our best players, but if doing so produces windfall gains it can help the funding position significantly.
If anyone doubts the importance of this, it’s worth considering that since he bought the club just less than two years ago Sandgaard has received around £10m in transfer income. That’s £10m either received in cash or due. All of that money is in respect of players who were either already at the club when he arrived or who had already been sold. Where is £10m going to come from over the next two years? That’s a question Sandgaard will be asking Martin as nauseam.
Our best hope is another Jesurun Rak-Sakyi. He’s going to be our best player this season. A clone could be transformative.

That’s why it suits Sandgaard’s end games not to buy a striker this week - exposing Leaburn & Kanu prematurely to first team action fattens the piglets before they go to market.

Genuine question, why do we moan when we expose our younger players to the first team but yet when other clubs do it and play then regularly, it seems perfectly acceptable. Whats the point in having a youth system if you dont play them. The likes of Clayden, Leaburn are ready for first team football. Making mistakes is part of becoming the player you eventually become. It’s nonsense saying its cheap blah blah. We didnt say that with Gomez, Lookman etc so it shouldn’t be any different. Would Rooney have got his move to Manchester United if Everton didn’t play him at 16. Would Bellingham have scored againat us at 16 and got his move to Borussia Dortmund if Birmingham didn’t play him??? If you are good enough your old enough to play.

Youngsters are integrated into a team that has quality in it to help them learn. They are only ready because the owner is a penny pinching bastard who promises this that and the other buy delivers fuck all. No academy kids in the top teams in the division that I can see. What quality they need they pay for it. By the way, Miles Leaburn is an up and coming player but he is being forced to learn too quickly.

Totally agree that from a footballing perspective another Rak-Sakyi will make us very entertaining to watch - and we already have a fairly high xG. We also need more centre backs to cover for injury and suspension. Regarding player sales you have a very valid point and this is one reason why last I predicted a Sandgaard exit in 2023 six months ago. This because the losses might come down a little but we are not getting back to the Championship for bigger gates and media revenues. And player sales revenue looks likely to drop meaning Sandgaard will need to inject another £10M. Why would he do that if we are stuck at 9th? We need those interested to watch the proceedings over the next 20-30 games and then make an offer.
