I don't see why he would've. Henry was already chosen ahead of Gilbey.

Sheffield Wednesday have a decent owner who has ambition to get out of L1 this season. What a contrast. So sick of reading the time buying bullshit about McKirdy. Swindon wanted only £150,000 for him six weeks ago. Please provide evidence of this as nowhere is this stated???

Depressing (in a football sense)
We don’t have the budget to buy a striker.
Who guessed ?
Not a penny spent on a player this Summer, the Nick Pope money disappeared, and going into the Autumn with one got senior striker at the club.
This owner is an absolute disaster.

Please feel free to spend your hefty wealth and show us how its done. And it will also show the Leicester City owner how its done also clearly….. Leicester City have not signed a single player and wont as the owner of them has struggled since lockdown as his main business is duty free at airports….point im making is even at higher level owners and clubs are struggling with FFP but as i say, i look forward to your upcoming interview as the next wealthy owner

Although they have won the Premier League and the FA Cup under their owner. Ours has spent 23 months blowing smoke up the fan’s arses, with “Premier league in five years” backed up by constant cutting back, the disappearance of the Nick Popd sell on fee this Summer, and the most expensive match day tickets in the league to watch a team with five new free transfers. This owner will be gone within 12 months, that day cannot come soon enough.

I am very disappointed, not depressed, that we are not signing another Striker. But things can change.

Deflated, is how I would put it!
Such positive signs so far this season, and one we could really kick on- but still lacking…
We are a striker away from a real gamble at promotion this year, it’s a long ol’ season but we just won’t be able to keep up

Not quite convinced by that, as it would just mean we play ‘less direct’- and more on the ground- which has been positive so far! What I’m wanting , is an attacking option off the bench that isn’t leaburn

That's the odd thing. Where is the strategy? £300k on an injury prone 28/29 year old forward one year but nothing to spend the following year when you're short on forwards. Don't get me wrong, if we can get 30 appearances out of Chuks this year then we're going to see goals. The problem is IF we get enough appearances.

The same Leicester ownership - PL under the father, FA Cup under the son. Under Ken, Barbie & Martin we are now being gazumped by the likes of MK Dons & Oxford United. 7,300 ST sold Nick Pope sell on money Highest match day prices in L1 Yet not a penny spent on a player this Summer. Where has the money gone ?

I, for one, would be very sympathetic if we had an owner who was genuinely short of cash and who explained to fans that he (or she) was going to have to cut their cloth accordingly. My guess is that lots of fans would share that perspective. The problem, as I see it, is that we have an ego eccentric, narcissistic owner who has consistently misled the fan base and who has not ‘invested’ in the club to anything like the extent some fans were led to believe he would. The irony is that Roland Duchatelet, who consistently spent more money than Sandgaard, was vilified by the fan base and jumped on whenever he did anything remotely controversial, while Captain Bullshit seems to have been allowed free hit after free hit. I, along with others on this forum, have consistently pointed out that Sandgaard does not appear to have significant liquid wealth and that this will limit both his willingness and ability to fund the squad. It seems we’re now beginning to see real evidence for this. This doesn’t mean we can’t make the top six, but it will be harder for Ben Garner than it was for Lee Bowyer, and it means Garner will have to add real value through coaching and player development. Fortunately, the early indications are that he may well be capable of that. Long live Garnerball!!

Personally, I can't believe that he hasn't. He could have fallen back on covid, of course, as he wouldn't have expected a season with no fans. Likewise that, like all businesses, he has to cut his cloth at the moment. I agree that most fans would have bought that. For some reason he can't seem to summon up the words!

This is where the lack of football expertise at senior levels at the club is really biting us on the arse.
If you had a strong & experienced CEO at the helm, he would be looking at the evidence of the first five league games, and now advising Sandgaard that all of the (small) eggs should go in one basket….on a new striker.
Relying on Stockley, a walking advert for BUPA and a raw 18 year old kid until January is tantamount to saying you are not really that serious about promotion.
Unfortunately, instead of the likes of a Peter Varney or a Steve Kavanagh advising him this week, Ken has Barbie. When she’s not busy sacking blameless employees and interfering in things she knows nothing about.
It’s not just the obvious lack of finance here …it’s the sheer arrogance and lack of imagination ….we are literally 2/3 players away from mounting a challenge this season, and we’ve already got plenty on the treatment table, but this owner just never listens.
