Coped from twitter but made me chuckle. There’s a star man, he plays in red and white, his name is Charlie Kirk and hes fucking dynamite Awesome. Superb find, Auckland. These CAFC fans really know their football. Such a shame that Pickering has already moved to Blackburn. Sometimes players work better in partnerships - I remember Rommedahl signing and us being on the cusp of signing Kezman soon after. Instead he went to Chelsea and young Dennis always flattered to deceive thereafter (apart from that legendary winning goal v Palace). Let's hope we get a new LB in Pickering's mould. Another signing that is an upgrade on what we had last year. It's been frustrating at the slow progress over the summer but I'd prefer us to get the right ones in over time than quick fixes. Suitably envious of where you live too - NZ really is one of the most liveable places on earth. I haven't stopped kicking myself for not buying a pad there in 2000 when I had the chance at a time when things were both affordable and residency obtainable. |

He looks to be a very good signing. The Crewe analytics piece is superb - wonder where they got the data from?
Very good news too that Adkins now has the ‘11’ to play in his 4-3-3. Washington presumably now misses out, but will offer an option from the bench and tactically.
Let’s see what’s next.

Viv Solomon-Otago apparently is the guy training with us at present….failed a medical a few weeks back and rumours are we offered him a lower deal on this basis……If our medical team believe they can sort his knee out fairly sharply wouldnt this be decent addition to our squad, and probably wouldn’t take up too much of the budget either……..thoughts anyone
Also rumours of a Spurs young defender coming in on loan, highly rated and can play centre back and left back…..

From his video clips, despite being right footed, Kirk looks like he can deliver a decent cross with his left foot.
Maybe not as fast, but a more effective wide man than Millar was. Ideal for Stockley.

No worries Hong Kong although I do feel a bit of a fraud though as I just nicked the article from the other forum….😆😆. Yes Auckland is a fantastic place to live, feel lucky to have had the chance to work and live there for the last 7 years…. I am part of the Auckland Addicks down there, great set of lads who love a beer and to chew the fat anything Charlton related Currently living at our house in the Alicante region of Spain so have more time to pop on here and post….also great to watch all Charlton games at 4.00pm on a saturday afternoon…..😎😎😎.rather than Sunday morning at 4.00am…..😩😩😩 |

Thanks for sharing. I’d be very surprised if that wasn’t true and it highlights the significant potential value of player sales. In the ideal scenario, the club buys well, sells on and uses the profit both to help mitigate operating losses and to fund new incoming transfers. Since Thomas Sandgaard bought the club we’ve received £5.6m in transfer income. That’s a big deal. The trick, obviously, is to buy the right players. |

Yet another poor cameo from Charlie Kirk last night.
He looks a shadow of the player we thought we were signing. I’ve yet to see him have a decent game for us. I think we need to set aside his personal circumstances & alleged failure to settle in London now, and ask whether the club has dropped a brick spending £450,000 and £5000 a week in wages on another player who’s heart doesn’t seem to be in it.
Given our now urgent need for strikers in January, I think the Club would listen to offers to Kirk if Sandgaard could get his money back.
I’m not sure that Kirk is a Jackson-type of player, either.

Once again you show your lack of knowledge of football ..
Charlie Kirk a winger not a wing back .. completely diff position and role last night playing wing back he always knows he can’t leave the space behind him .. you can clearly see he was reluctant to really go forward and be a winger .. and take players on and get to the byline because of his defensive duties ….
Charlie a great little player as his stats over the last few seasons back up unfortunately for him and CBT the system they were brought for we are not playing at present … so if they want to play they both got to learn a completely new role as wing back …
For what’s it worth think Charlie did ok last night he kept the ball well made himself available and more important dud not give Morecombe a chance to get behind him … so yes he done his new role very well

We have at least five players who are having that problem so that is another reason Jackson's future needs to be tied up quickly as those who are surplus need to be off loaded in January so that new faces can be brought in. |

He didn't have much time to make an impact. Everyone was running on fumes as well by then.
What annoyed me a bit was when he lost the ball or misplaced a pass, he wasn't busting a gut to get it back. Others were running passed him and they'd been on the whole time! Unless he's just super slow, which I don't think is the case.

He got on the ball a lot which was good, but he looked ridiculously right footed to me. In recent weeks I've enjoyed the way DJ (and CBT when he's come on) have taken on the full back and whipped a cross over. It'd be nice to have someone on the left who can do the same.

Was told this not long ago but there was interest from another club so we hung fire. Letting him go for nothing is a surprise really but understandable. I gues the club whoe were looking at him decided against it so we have decided to call it a day with him.
