With the Lookman sell on money and the Dijksteel deal, we don't have to take a low offer. There's three of four million banked already so perhaps it will take a silly bid to see Taylor move. You neglect to mention in your latest pro RD soliloquy that the Lookman sell on money went straight into the Belgian wallet. Remember when he sold our then best player - Ricky Holmes - during a previous January transfer window ? The money goes into the CAFC bank account and reduces the requirement for external funding. Same with 10,000 ST sales and it now appears that there are just 1,000 seats left available for Saturday in the covered end - that's upper, lower tier and NW Quadrant. If memory serves me correctly that end holds 10,000. So there's going to be at least 9,000 addicks behind the goal cheering on the lads. Nothing written is pro RD and everything is pro CAFC. That you cannot make the distinction nor celebrate a competitive squad and our first home game back in the Championship is your loss. We can all appreciate that some do not like the strategy of relying upon the academy, free agents and EPL loans, i.e., no mega transfer fees. But perhaps it was the leadership and execution that was at fault back in 2015/16? Perhaps replacing Meire and Fraeye with 40 something blokes holding a 20 year career in the game is what was missing? Bowyer, Gallen and JJ simply don't make many mistakes... and when they do they hold their hands up and learn. We have bought and sold many, many players over the decades that we have followed CAFC but once the window closes in a couple of hours, the only thing that matters is the team sheet on Saturday and how we play. Let's just live for the moment and enjoy this new look side...enjoy the experience. And get there early because there are going to be queues to get in! |

With Cullen back and the squad strengthened keeping Lyle would surely mean staying up. Is £4 million worth possibly another 2 or 3 years in L1? and the effect on selling the club if it ever happens.

My guess is Lyles been told he can leave if we get a replacement in .3 or 4 bids have come in from brentford for Taylor and 3 or 4 bids have been made by us according to Posh chairman for Toney

Charlton turned down a £4m bid from Brentford for striker Lyle Taylor two minutes before the 5pm transfer deadline. Taylor has a year remaining on his contract at The Valley.

After refusing to sell Taylor he has forced us to watch him play for a year and then let him leave for nothing.
I’m wondering if anyone is going to return their season ticket in protest?
