Gutted to see him go, but the only consolation is that we already have two centre backs who can cut it in the Championship in my opinion. Add Lockyer and one more and we’ll be well stocked in that position. |

I'm surprised by this, really thought (hoped) that Bauer was one of the players Bowyer referred to in regards to some players signing contracts now his is sorted. Inevitably Aribo will go so I'm curious as to who he did mean?
As for Bauer, obviously a big loss but can probably be replaced with Lockyer. Pearce and Sarr as above, decent for Championship level too.
We really need this takeover sorted and sorted fast! How many players do we actually have at this point? 10?

15 players and waiting on Forster,Joe and forsu. LB said he they players are back a week Friday and expects 3/4 maybe 5 new players (already posted on ITTV earlier today) However he pushed that to 7/8 with players singing new contracts. Sorry to do a BB with no link, I watched it on sky |

Tbh even with a takeover I’d be surprised if we could of matched 20 k + a week , maybe we could have gone a bit higher in what we offered but most people would go were they are offered more. That’s football for ya!

Gutted, even though it was half expected. I just knew something bad would happen today to balance out this morning's good news. Wouldn't be Charlton otherwise.
Be interesting where the BFG turns up. If it is the Championship, it will be an indictor of where we stand in terms of competitiveness.

We've gotta thank him for four great years and especially the last ten seconds of his CAFC career.
Last summer he made it clear he wanted Championship football. And he and his agent will surely have been discussing matters with a range of clubs, perhaps abroad.
Until he actually signs somewhere else, there's still hope that a deal could be done but the release is fairly clear.
And so we move on.

Very disappointing. Hard to know quite what to make of this until we know where he’s going. However, I suspect his destination will be more bottom half of the Championship than top half (could well be very wrong of course) and if so it emphasises the challenge Bowyer is going to face budget wise.
He’ll leave a big hole. Pearce and Sarr can’t play together and it’s not certain either of them will find the move to a higher level of football easy to deal with. Pearce signed when Wigan decided to move him on following their promotion to the Championship and while Sarr has looked a good player in League One there’s no guarantee he has the mobility to cope a level up.
Worrying. Hope I’m wrong on all counts.

Sorry to see Pat leave, even though I expected it , especially after what SG said last week re our offer to him . He will always be remembered by Charlton fans for his Wembley finale, but was a steady performer throughout his time here .
Good luck BFG , and good luck to LB, SG and the management team in finding a good replacement.
