I don't want to be 'that' guy but has anyone thought about what if when Taylor is back, he is cautious about his knee injury and doesn't go in for challenges like he used to. This has to be a reality surely? Frankly, if this is the case he can kiss his big money move goodbye. He will realise that, unless he signs an extension with us (which I think is very, very unlikely), his next contract will be totally dependent on what he shows in the second half of the season. There is, virtually, no room in professional football for a player that doesn't give 100% in every game these days. The financial rewards guarantee that if you (any player) doesn't give 100% in every game there will someone else waiting in the background to do exactly that.

He might be a bit cautious in his first game or two maybe, but I doubt it will change the way he plays tbh. He will always be 100% committed. Players like Taylor only know how to play one way, if he tried to change his style, he wouldn’t be the player that he is

he’s not the type of player/person that would prolong the lay off , I bet he’s champing at the bit to get back !

I’m glad he’s itching to get back, however I’m more pleased we can still play without him and Bonne has pushed on because of his absence.

Very true, I'm hoping that we can have a Bonne/Taylor partnership to terrify defences for the rest of the season. I wasn't expecting much from Bonne this year - even Bowyer said he was a punt for the future - but he is growing into the Championship, and if Taylor can come back with the same power he had befor his injury, who knows where we could end up.

I reckon Mr Bowyer, was kidding. 🤣

Bit of inside info from the physio Taylor has got another 4 weeks in the knee brace. He reckons they can get him fit 2/3 weeks after that This is a pure fishing post BB. You and your 'inside info'. What a load of bollocks. LB says Taylor two weeks away which will fall in with exactly what I said .... but hey you know better lol 😂

One (Two) of the most magic deals done by Bowyer was to get rid of Magennis (and even get money for him), and then bring in Taylor.

I took my grandson to the “meet Lyle Taylor” session at the club shop today, and briefly spoke to him. He’s happy to be out there running again, and said he can’t wait to be back. A very nice, friendly and polite young man.

Hot of the press .... Taylor to return against Millwall could even make the bench this Sunday ... Williams could be back in two weeks quicker then first imagined

I can’t imagine LB dropping Bonne on his current form, when Taylor is back, so maybe an appearance from the bench is likely. It will be interesting to see who is taken off for him, and whether we will get to see the first glimpse of a Taylor and Bonne partnership.

I tend to disagree Oldred , I think as soon as Taylor is 100% fit , he goes straight in , and if depending on opponent, it’s a formation that only needs one striker , then Bonne will revert back to the bench.... I’d imagine tho that LB would want the pair to form a similar partnership that Lyle had with Karlan...

Yes I’m happy for Lyle to go straight in hhd, my point really, was more about Bonne being taken out of the team to accommodate him. He deserves to keep his place, and be given the chance to form a partnership with LT, especially as Hemed hasn’t done anything to deserve a start yet. LB prefers to play two up front, so it makes sense to play the two who are on the best form .
