If this information is reliable, Lyle Taylor will probably miss the following games; Leeds United (H) | 24th September | Swansea City (H) | 2nd October | Fulham (A) | 5th October | Derby County (H) | 19th October | Bristol City (A) | 23rd October | West Bromwich Albion (A) | 26th October | Preston North End (H) | 2nd November | Millwall (A) | 9th November |
(games in blue are after the knee brace comes off)Cardiff City (H) on 23rd November is likely to be the first game where Lyle Taylor is fit enough to play, assuming his recovery does go according to the information given. Of course, Taylor may recover a bit more quickly or slowly than this estimate. But even at the more optimistic end of that margin for error he will be out for the next 5 or 6 league games. If he is training again in a couple of weeks then we will know the information was not reliable, but every Charlton fan (including BB) will be happy and relieved just to have LT back in action sooner rather than later.

www.cafcpicks.com/cgi-bin/drkish/display.pl?month=201909&date=20190924&time=0549The difference between Charlton's results when Lyle Taylor is in the team, compared to when he is absent, is stark. The Addicks won four and drew two of their Championship games with Taylor in the side, scoring in all six games. Without him, they have lost their last two, failing to score in either. Taylor's influence on the team is huge, not just his ability, but the spirit and belief he engenders in his team mates. So when is he likely to be back? The good news is he does not need an operation, though he must wear a protective boot for six weeks. Then it will be a a question of how long it takes him to get match fit. Taylor will be champing at the bit to play again, so he should be ready fairly quickly. With the boot likely to come off at the end of October, he may even be ready to play in the game on 9 November. The Addicks travel to Millwall- Taylor's first club - on that day. The script is already written isn't it?

The same 'physio' said that a player was having a medical when he wasn't and that Pearce would be injured when he wasn't, so I wouldn't take it as gospel for the time being.

It’s difficult to guess what his value will be at the moment tbf, If he keeps scoring goals, there could be a few interested teams, and competition for him could push the price up higher.
On the flip side, if his injury affects his future goal scoring, his value and desirability could diminish, and change the situation completely. It’s all guesswork and supposition at this stage.

The challenge is with the management to get the best out of the squad... and make sure we are ready to kick on whenever Taylor is back... And if that's Millwall away then all the better

I said it all summer mate that Harris should be brought in.

Reading that, doesn’t change my feeling that he will leave In January. His emphasis is on the club offering enough for him to decide to stay, which translates to me that he will be leaving as planned without a huge pay rise.

I wouldn’t mind us looking at Tyler Walker. Pacy, decent finisher, young and fantastic pedigree with his father being Des Walker. Someone who could advise him correctly hopefully

Someone who could advise him correctly hopefully I was just thinking the same yesterday. Problem is, he is a Forest player and the way this season has started, they will see us as an unlikely rival.

I don't want to be 'that' guy but has anyone thought about what if when Taylor is back, he is cautious about his knee injury and doesn't go in for challenges like he used to. This has to be a reality surely?
