Completely agree. And I'd add that the ball is now in the owner's court. He knows exactly how the fans feel. The protests have done their job in that respect, at least for now, so that further demonstrations of fans' anger are unnecessary. The key question now is what is Duchatelet's next move going to be? Whether we like it or not we're going to have to wait until the summer to find out. Will there be a mass clear out of the existing squad, to raise funds and to cut the wage bill, or will the strategy be to retain as many first team players as possible in order to secure an immediate return to the Championship? While fans may think they know the answer to that question, in truth we don't. We'll have to wait to find out and further protests are not going to change the answer or increase the chances of a sale. If fans simply want to vent, fair enough, but going home to kick the proverbial cat can achieve that objective. I agree wholeheartedly with this post. I think the protest has gone as far as it needs to go for now and is in danger of losing focus. From my perspective there is a lot of anger and frustration but I just can't see a charlton crowd running on the pitch en masse or resorting to threats of violence. Beach balls and squeezy balls are more likely for the thermos and blanket brigade. No one has a clue what the owner will do as he makes it up as he goes along e.g. the press release on the OS venting against his customers. So as Mundell writes we will have to wait and see what's what in the summer.

Once we are relegated, and that is inevitable now I believe, support the team and not the regime will go out of the window I think and all the venom will be directed at the regime. I therefore think invading the pitch could be a distinct possibility whatever the consequence as many fans don't intend to be there next season anyway.
We will see.

Quite apart from Anti-Duchatelet protests, there will probably be trouble at the Valley between thoroughly pissed off Charlton supporters and hundreds of Brighton fans who will have got hold of home stand tickets one way or another. A number of them won't be able to behave themselves when their team rips us to pieces on the pitch, and that will lead to fighting.
It's going to be a toxic atmosphere, and crap security & stewarding is not going to make matters any better. I can see things 'getting nasty' in an uncontrolled way, with a risk of innocent young or old fans who can't defend themselves being hurt.
I hope that doesn't happen, but it would not come as a shock to me if it does.

Are CARD set to raise the bar?!
CARD STATEMENT: Post Relegation
The Coalition Against Roland Duchatelet (CARD) notes the statement released by Charlton Athletic chief executive Katrien Meire following the club’s relegation to League One and rejects it completely.
Last August, Meire wrote in her programme notes “From a personal point of view, I realise that from now on there’s no one to hide behind any more.”
Yet she has been hiding virtually ever since, at least when it comes to engaging openly and honestly with supporters. The truth is that she is wretchedly inadequate for her role and so are most of her senior management.
She and the owner Roland Duchatelet have made mistake after mistake since they came to the club in January 2014 and despite numerous promises to the contrary they have never learned from them.
They are the reason the club has been relegated. If they had a shred of integrity or self-awareness, they would walk away now. We are not interested in their excuses or their plans.
There will be no collaboration with them, now or in the future. They are the enemy of everything that Charlton has been and will be again. We must remove them, chairman Richard Murray and their other apologists before they destroy the club completely.
CARD will be leading massive demonstrations before, during and after Saturday’s match against Brighton & Hove Albion. More details will follow.
We call on all Charlton Athletic supporters to come to SE7 on Saturday to unite behind these protests and help us drive these people out of The Valley now.
It's our club. On Saturday, let's make it utterly clear that the only plan Charlton fans will accept from this regime is an exit one.

The demonstration pre match should be powerful. The funeral march was great. I hope it makes the carpark this time as it broke up last and lost momentum.

Fascinating that Richard Murray's longstanding friends, defenders and previously shameless brown-nosers Richard Hunt and Ben Hayes have now signed up to a CARD statement demanding their former hero's removal as chairman.
The worms really have turned...

One thing that is irking me at the moment is the CL poster who organised the failed pitch invasion (shit himself, basically) is running his mouth off over there like he is some kind of hero. All day he has been at it.

Hope you liked the graphic that I designed for the balloon Reams. You can see I have a thing about big flying objects........if you look at my log in graphic. Pity CARD could not hire an airship, eh. Attachments:

people standing shouting in a car park isnt going to sway RD Nor is turning up at the house of Meire's parents in Belgium. What absolutely vile and disgusting behaviour, which brings shame and disgrace on all Charlton supporters. Truly nasty and despicable and CARD needs to disown the culprits fast. In fact, if CARD wants to retain the high moral ground, it should assist the club in identifying the morons who did this and ensuring they are banned from The Valley.

It has been a long time coming but I actually agree with a Spouting Rubbish post. This is not the way to behave. If someone had come round my parents doing this I would be fuming.

Totally agree, but CARD have been stiring the pot so cannot be exempt from taking some responsibility for any actions which result from their cause... I'm disgusted with the action of some fellow "fans" and despite the fact our owner and CEO havebeen inept with their decisions, sometimes things go too far...
