@ Rik I was referring to RD's methods of communication, rather than their content. The press conference followed by the You Tube interview were both reassuring, and whether you like RD & his plans or not, he came across as open. Katrien was in Floyd Road before the Bolton game giving out free programmes & openly chatting with many fans. I have also seen her a couple of times away, doing the same. It is a great improvement on what we had from Slater, Jiminez and Cash, and before that Tricky Dicky and his faithful sidekick Waggott. Don't forget Andrew Mills, another to get the blood boiling!

How could he have saved £4M? By staying up he will have to pay KC and TJ an extra £4m on top of the £14m that he initially paid for the club. Right. So if you ignore the fact the club is worth £1 in league One (a loss of £14M), get £3M less TV money. Get less commercial and ticket revenue, will definitely lose assets like Hamer, Dervite, Morro, Poyet, may lose some of the kids and do long term damage to their brand then he saves himself £4M. Hmmm. i am not convinced by him but I do give him more credit as a business man to understand that a £4M saving would be fools gold.

I notice that a little bandwagon is developing amongst the Anorak Army to "embarrass RD" at the POTY awards. Yes, really The idea is to vote for Yann as POTY. If he wins, the trophy will then be presented to an EMPTY CHAIR. Ha ha. Geddit ? Brilliant. RD will then see the error of his ways, re-sign Yann from Bournemouth on a ten year deal, and, who knows, re instate Powell as well. There is always the alternative scenario if this pathetic, drivelling plan comes off (which it won't).....that RD shrugs his shoulders, decides that it is just not worth the agony of dealing with our morons, and decides to walk away - leaving us adrift. Anyone who votes for Yann as POTY on this basis is a complete & utter moron, not fit to support Charlton, and should be given a life ban from the Valley IMO. You try to be positive but when you see this kind of drooling, lip foaming idiocy being seriously put forwards by some of our " intellectually challenged" fans, it really is hard.

I don't think you need to worry. Morrison was miles ahead on the form I signed and Poyet and Wilson not far behind. Yann nowhere to be seen..

You only have to look at a certain Chris Powell on Talksport thread elsewhere to realise that this is not rational people we are dealing with here unfortunately, they are an embarrassment to their families let alone the football club, they are clearly not right in the head it's as simple as that. When is this POTY do anyway, wouldn't mind volunteering my free services to do the door that night?

Ah right - wasn't particuarly clear. Has anyone actually said that RD "wants to get us relegated" ? People might think that his decisions (particularly selling a striker that has now scored seven in 13) might contribute to us being relegated, but I doubt anyone thinks he "wants" this to be the outcome. It is a theory that people have mentioned tbh but I don't buy it, he will lose more than the 4m he wouldn't have to pay to Jiminez if we went down. This is nonsense though. If such a clause exists then it was negotiated to offset greater operating losses were the club relegated.

Although on topic, absolute pathetic thing to even consider but luckily its a minority. With regard to the talksport thread, I thought most comments were fair. It was on topic as it was a new interview and had quite a few interesting comments. There are certainly a fair few who wont get over Powell. However, theres also a fair few who were disrespectful to Powell aka Reams who continues to make personal remarks and its just not on.

Get over it anybody would think he's god the way they go about it .Yes good player but we were heading for league 1 but now we have a chance. Even some of the players have come out and said the football under Powell was negative.

Morro made a thinly veiled comment saying "Yeah, if Jose had been here all season we would have been 13th"
Says it all really.

Listen fella as a manger Chris Powell means fuck all to me never has never will, he deserved the sack and I was and still am delighted he got it. Some of the freaks who still toss and turn in their beds at night are getting beyond a joke they need to stock up on the medication! Chris Powell is history, tomorrow so will his precious little points record that some fans have etched on their sad little memories. It's not surprised we get laughed at as fans. Some knob heads are starting to come out and claim that despite Riga being on the verge of keeping us up, it's Powell's team so he HAS TO TAKE SOME CREDIT!!!!! This is the same Powell team that he didn't have a clue with because of his lack of coaching and mentoring ability. Players are expressing themselves more under Riga, he's a different voice who actually has a host of ideas not just the same two or three that failed so miserably. Powell didn't have a clue in the end he was well on his way to totally losing the dressing room, along comes Riga and immediately gets another 10% out of each player, you tell me who is the better man? Yet some disturbed mindless bastards still want Powell back....Are people really that thick? Because of what happened at Sheffield United I personally hopes that Powell's days in football are in the lower leagues where he belongs.

I felt you went too far before with Powell as some of your comments kind of made it personal. As I said, I completely agree he wasnt up to the job and had to go, but that doesnt mean he deserves to be namecalled and you were very disrespectful. People need to move on. Not just because he is gone, but because it was a change for the better. but again, stating their an embarrassment to their families just because you don't agree with them? Is that not a bit far?

Grown men crying like babies unwilling or unable to let go of Powell like he was their first teenage love are an embarrassment to themselves and their families, people need man up and grow a pair and get a backbone, some need all three.
You know the thread I am referring to mate and it is probably the most cringeworthy I have ever seen on any football forum, is that the kind of mentality people claiming to support the club have these days, men saying I welled up listening to CP on talk sport, others saying I broke down, stupid cows having heard Powell talk have now convinced themselves again that RD is up to no good.
These people deserve their sorrow and I hope it lasts some time yet while the rest of us meanwhile get on with the next chapter in the club's history, I for one would be more than happy to leave the idiots behind, when the hopeless one gets a new job in L1 or 2 can't they piss off and support him there, we'd be much better off without the dick heads that revert to the wrist slashing and anti depressants every time Powell's voice is on the radio or television.

Charlton Athletic Football Club is ALL that matters, not a transferred out player, a sacked manager, an owner or current player. Wherever you are in the world it's Charlton that you support and think of, not an individual, so lets all give that support to the club and the current personnel that have the honour to represent it.

Why do people turn into judge and jury when we comment on what a laughing stock some fans have made our club. I have never seen threads on any other forum where grown men are crying like baby's over an out of date manager and player, namely CP and Yann. I'd rather see Ackworths ramblings on here than read the condescending mother hen comments of UTV, ac, off_it etc...
Grow a pair FFS!

I do agree with 99% of what you are saying absolutely. Just a bit personal. It is time to move on, and I don't get why people are just going on and on and not supporting the club moving forward.
