It's five not 6, how many more times, please concentrate. You can trust who you want with the right questions when they need to be asked but ask the right people, your members on behalf of what you represent and don't force it on others who are not interested. Leave the majority to carry out their own investigations and reach their own conclusions.

Anyone with half a brain can see Roland is grooming his son to take over his business ventures. Notice how his son is getting direct football experience by owning his own club? Not to mention the fact that Roderick speaks fluent, non-accent, English. Roland replied to a pointed question quite quickly that he was here long-term. Rolly is also planning on spending A LOT on upgrading our academy and training facilities. People don't just do that if they're "playing around with their money till they get bored". We'll be in Familie Duchatelet for a LONG time. Seriously, I almost feel like Charlton deserve to go into administration, get relegated and eventually wound up the way some of you are treating a man who is investing HIS money into the club to try and stabilize the storm caused by fools like Murray, Slater, Dowie, Reed, Pardew and Parky. EDIT: Don't even try to claim Roderick almost ran Ujpect out of business. That's a lie. The records have come out that have shown that Roderick was lied to about the finances and there was more than likely criminal fraud on behalf of financial statements created by Ujpects former owners.

Lol. Your posts get worse mate. What have the fans done wrong, asked some questions of the new guy? Yeah, administration really deserved for that. as a successful businessman, I feel he would be surprised if questions were not asked of him. Shows an intelligent fan base.

Raising concerns is fine as well. Providing a different opinion? Great. Taking the p? That's fine in the right context. Bitching, moaning, demonizing and disrespecting someone who has spent his own money to try and improve our situation is not okay. I swear, most on here suffer from a severe form of bi-polar disorder. When we win the world is great, when we lose or draw then the world is ending! Make up your minds people! If Rolly hadn't come in we definitely would have gone into Admin, had the FA book thrown at us, sold all our players, gone down, had a transfer embargo forced on us and the world generally would have sucked for a long time. Has he made some mistakes? Sure. The fact is that he seems to be someone who learns from his mistakes.

Rich people let their companies go bust all the time. Not because they haven't got the dough to keep it going if they really wanted to, but precisely because they don't want to anymore, for whatever reason.
Also, having wealth on paper is much much different to having cash sitting at the bank.
Look at the Icelandic bloke at West Ham a few years back for evidence of this.
Of course, in reality they are much more likely to want to sell something at a cut price rather than nothing at all. Kevin Cash anyone?

The problem is nobody would ever ask the real cause for concern, Jiminez any questions. He came to the club with a far more shady background than RD has ever had yet not a squeak out of the TRUST....why? Nobody has ever answered that question they just avoid it. RD has bought us and we are one of five clubs that he has in his stable. Jiminez took over with 17 previous businesses having gone into liquidation with him at the helm, we were nosediving to be number 18 until RD stepped in but for doing so he is the one people are doubting?!! Idiotic to say the least but as I said the TRUST were shit scared of Jiminez, if they were that bothered they would challenge anybody who is not right for the club not just pick and choose..

Something I want to add about the STVV thing is that there was an investigation done by the Belgian version of the FA. This investigation found Roland Duchatelet did not own STVV and there was no conflict of interest.

I don't think Roland owns STVV, but I'd imagine he still has influence there - for instance I see that players from other parts of the network move there on loan. They're probably a sort of satellite club to the network, not sure why it really matters though.

So far in this post, members of the trust have come on here and rightfully defended it. However, one thing that has stuck out for me during this post is there ability to only answer the questions that they want to while conveniently ignore the difficult ones. For example, reams asked where does the £5 membership fee get distributed to (that's over £5k) and also why did no one challenge TJ when things were really looking bad for our club.

We actually receive more in donations I believe than membership renewals. As we're a democratic, accountable and fully registered organisatiom all of our accounts are audited by an independent third party annually and submitted to Companies House. I'm currently the temporary treasurer of the Trust which is how I know the above to be true. Right now the money isn't a huge deal (although its greatly appreciated), it's about building a consensus and understanding what is important to fans. 2) I haven't answered Reams' post about "challenging" Jiminez because its filled with his usual hypocrisy and changing history to suit his own vendetta. When we did try and engage with the previous administration, for instance obtaining ACV for the Valley, Reams told us to stop interfering and that we were wasting our time (on his more polite and articulate days). When Prague posts that he's keeping an eye on the Network it's pretty much the same. Which is it ? Should we be engaged or should we stop sticking our noses in ?

Thanks for answering my questions SE9, if they would have been answered when they were first asked a lot of criticism could have been avoided. I am not to convinced by your answer to question 2 though. Are you saying that because reams has told you to keep your noses out that you will not say anything? You now ask the question of 'should we be engaged or should we stop sticking our noses in?' The problem with that is you may well wish to be engaged but RD may not want you to and by sticking you're noses in could make it worse, then what will the trust do

The problem with that is you may well wish to be engaged but RD may not want you to and by sticking you're noses in could make it worse, then what will the trust do The last part of the second part of my answer was rhetorical - apologies if I didn't make that clear. Of course I think the fans should be engaged in their club ad there are a number of models for this. Either the current owners want to engage with you or they don't. Jiminez and co didn't, but that doesn't mean there's nothing you can do - things like ACV require no input from the owners and if it is demonstrably something that the fans think is worthwhile then go for it. If the owners do want to be engaged then that's great but with comes with it the risk of jeapordising your independence - where do you draw the line and know when to push back ? The truth is that we're still figuring this out, we aren't perfect. We've achieved a lot but we've still achieved very little of what could be done if we pull together. It's heading in the right direction - 1,100 paying members is a very high comparative number (regardless what some on this site may say) but we need more to continue to build legitimacy.

SE9, no one is doubting the number of paid up members of the trust or, what in principle is a good idea. After reading the Trust's official web site I have some further questions before I part with my £5.
Trust website states: •To give the fans a voice and represent their interests in the running of the Club.
My Questions: How does someone get their interest represented? The club is owned by RD, if doesn't want to talk to the trust, then what? What is the Trust's future plans regarding this?
Trust website states: •To actively support Charlton Athletic Football Club in achieving success both on and off the pitch.
My Questions: What have the trust done so far to actively support Charlton Athletic? What is the trust's future plans for this? What is the Trust's future plans regarding this?
Trust website states: •To assist in preserving the long term future of the Club, it’s history, culture, values and identity in our Community
My Questions: What actions have the Trust done to assist in preserving the long term future of the club (The ACV is only valid for 6 months so is not classed as 'long term') What is the Trust's future plans regarding this?

PragueAddick didn't say that the TRUST are keeping an eye on the RD network though did he? What he actually said was:
The Trust is going to keep its beady eye on all aspects of the Network.
That comment equates to somebody who has a distinct lack of trust, one who is doing something because of his or her malice, suspicion and skepticism.
I have a similar thread on here about the teams in the network which was done just out of a general interest and to present something to all who read the forum. PA created what he has with a totally different intention.
By the way answer 2) is a very weak argument. Jiminez appointed Powell as manager and because their hero was at the helm the TRUST did not want to rock the boat. This question has been asked many times on all Charlton fans forums but still we are nowhere near the truth as to why you are all over RD but kept your distance from the previous regime. It's what suits at the end of the day which is why your member base whilst being quite healthy in terms of numbers will never have the full backing from fans.
If we base it on season ticket sales alone which is let's say 10,000, those for the TRUST is a fraction of those who have chosen not to join. Perhaps if you got rid of the agenda which is blatantly obvious, you may gain more backing but being honest If we stay up and RD puts us on a sounder footing on the pitch the need for a TRUST will become even less than it is now.

Just a quick point - ACV designation lasts five years at which point it can be renewed.

Thanks SE9
just a point on the ACV though, yes it is designed for 5 months an can be renewed, but it does only give us a 'stay of execution' for 6 months though

So what if Roland wants to sell it? Does your £5k and other generous donations cover the cost to buy it?

So what if Roland wants to sell it? Does your £5k and other generous donations cover the cost to buy it? Depends on the consensus amongst Charlton fans, conceivably there could be a situation whereby selling the Valley and moving to a new stadium might be in the clubs best interest.

By the way answer 2) is a very weak argument. Jiminez appointed Powell as manager and because their hero was at the helm the TRUST did not want to rock the boat. At last the truth. The all consuming love for Powell would have eventually screwed your club. Romantic love is unstable, it has caused wars, turned brother against brother and is responsible for 37% of all homicides.

It is also fact that the majority of comments made on this forum by members of another forum are reactive. I'm sure an archive search is not necessary as this is a daily occurrence.

Hey you can't say you've been "watching" people for a year now and not expect to be called a stalker, have you been given consent to observe these people? If you're lonely I can get a few numbers for you ;-)
