Astrit Ajdarevic coming played for Powell at Leicester reserves according to rumors from Belgium. Astonishingly slow player. We bought him for 1,7M euros last year (big amount for us) and he played very few games. He never uses his right foot except to step on the bus (that's how we describe him in Liege :-D). Today in the local newspapers, we could read that Biton and Ajdarevic were not included in the group that will go to La Manga as winter preparation. So maybe they will be loaned. Biton is far better for me. He does not need many chances to score goals. He has good stats everywhere he went except in Standard but the manager does not count on him.

Unfortunately it's going to be on everyones lips until it's done deal or dead in the water. Just want a yes or a no on takeover or some sort of news out of them. Was a well deserved point yesterday considering cheating ref. No not cheating just completely incompetent - remember he was the chuff that gave the goal that wasn't!

From SLP
Roland Duchatelet completes Charlton takeover Thursday, 02 January 2014
By Richard Cawley and Toby Porter BELGIAN millionaire Roland Duchatelet has completed his takeover of Charlton Athletic. The South London Press understands from sources on the Addicks board that they are now under new ownership. And Duchatelet has paid nearer to £20million for the club - not the £14m that has been widely reported. It ends an uncertain period for the Championship club, with the promise of player arrivals to boost Chris Powell's squad. The South London Press had been told that Duchatelet has plans to act quickly in the transfer window. He already owns Standard Liege in his native Belgium, purchasing them in 2011. Charlton had previously been in detailed discussions with American sports mogul Joshua Harris, only for him to withdraw after conducting due diligence. But the Addicks confirmed recently that they were in advanced discussions with Duchatelet. And he has now bought the club, who are three points above the Championship relegation zone.

Great news, lets hope it is on the OS soon, so that we can all look forward to some sort of stability with fingers crossed the team moving forward.

Sounds like Powell is prepraring for himself for the possibility that he may not figure in the new owners plans:
'What will be will be, I have a love and passion for this club there can be no doubt about that... I like managing and I want to manage here but we've got to see what the future holds.''
I know many on here can't wait to see the back of him. But personally I'd like to see what he can do with a budget to bring in better players who are more capable of playing in the Chamnpionship...
On the other hand, if Roly D has got some heavyweight lined up who will do a better job, I'm not going to protest!

Not sure why the Mail had it the other day and SLP tonight? Didn't Slater ban the SLP?

Interesting news, personally I'll reserve judgement until we learn a bit more about RD's plans before describing it as "great" - but potentially this could be a big step forward.
P.S - I think ITTV had come into its own during this takeover process.

Good news if the SLP is correct. It would put Bexley Boys mind at rest, that other groups have not mucked this takeover up.

Best news today is that the two spivs (Jiminez and Slater) are leaving the club - per OB . Richard Murray will still be around but in a non decision making Associate Director role. The owner probably wants RM to maintain continuity, that is until his feet are well and truly planted under the table, then can see a new Board running matters of his behalf.

I'm from Belgium and i can say i follow charlton for approximatly 15 years. I think the takeover by duchatelet is a bad thing, yes he will probably invest lots of money but as it comes to football he's a complete idiot who doesn't know a thing about it. He will sack manager powell immediatly and will very probably replace him with some weirdo like he has done before by other clubs he took over. As other people said here before me, he doesn't care about the fans and will make the fans angry rather often with decisions no one will understand simply because their will be no rational explanation to it. I weep for charlton if the takeover takes place. Stop this takeover by all means possible i don't like to have to say it, but i told you so because i really wanted it to be going better with charlton, i really do, but there was no chance of that happening by a takeover by this man
are the people commenting on me negatively when i said this was a really bad takeover earlier, still as happy with the takeover now as they were then
