Great news, a Property Company, interesting. Well done Reams on getting the fact we were undergoing Due Diligence right. Interesting times ahead, there might be some mileage in moving to the Peninsula.

There are more specifics mentioned in this article than any other I've read about a potential takeover. Looks/sounds like legit information.
'Property Company', 'Investment Company' and an unnecessary paragraph about The Valley should ring a few alarm bells for those who don't want the club to move.
Interesting times ahead.

The Powell comments in the SLP suggest that he is fairly intergral to the deal. Comments Reams?

Great news if it comes off.
Goodbye Cypriot residents, serial litigants & knockers (allegedly), asset strippers and Man City fans.
Hello new investment in players and infrastructure.
Hello new manager....

Now let's get down to brass tacks. Those who have dissed the existing board will be initially happy but in reality only time will tell if we will be acquired by good business people or just another bunch of potential asset strippers who will be as bad if not worse than their predecessors.
I reserve judgement but concede that some half decent loanees will put a smile on my face!

My hope is that the new owners are talking to Curbs as we speak. The attractions are obvious, the negatives not really apparent.

The new owners are big fans of Powell you'll be pleased to know Vol. Whether that means they rate him as a manager, I don't know, but I know they are big fans of his.

Makes me laugh how some arseholes on life want to continuously talk down my source of information without having an inkling of one of their own and then when the news leaks certain people claim to have known about it for weeks!!!

The CLUB is on the verge of a takeover & maybe a bright new future and what do we get, the usual CP cheerleaders wringing their hands about whether The Messiah will get a new ten year contract. CAFC does NOT = Chris Powell, and never will do. P.S: Strange that this news has broken in the same week Powell and Jackson appealed directly via the media for new contracts. Someone is being played like a fiddle.

Can't blame the potential new owners for wanting to give Powell a chance, and I actually think it is a smart thing to do,I know if i was buying a club I would not be sacking the manager instantly, but one thing is for sure if he does get some decent money to spend and we are in the same position as we are now next season there can be no more excuses from his fanboys.

reams will tell you vol, that I have been in pm with him for the last few weeks over this and where the money may be coming from, this same person has also told me that powell will be given the opportunity in jan to try and get playoffs, however he will be given a bigger amount in the summer , it would take a huge failure on powells part to not see this out
nothing to do with love or cheerleading just passing on the info

We were both aware of the news that broke today a few weeks ago but have different sources and I can confirm what Solly says we have been discussing it behind the scenes for the last week or so. Just want to clear up that Sollyisquality is not my source as some might now think. As always though Intothevalley brings you the news first, even before the press get a hold of it.

substantial moves in the transfer market, how these pan out I would not be too aware of but the aim is that we are not in this league much longer

Solly
So are you saying that regardless of whether we get promotion after investment this Jan, CP will be given further support by the new owners next summer ?
P.S:
Is the new owners name David Icke by any chance ?

from what I could gather Vol if Powell was teetering on the edge of relegation after the support he will be shown in jan then he may not last the new money into the next campaign, however if he can get into the playoffs or close then I reckon he will see it out no problem

Ok the new owners are British as far as the Property side of their business goes but the leading player is American. One of the new owners may be better known to us than you think but that part of it is sketchy at this moment in time.
The deal is within touching distance, mid December at the very latest but CP has been told to draw up a January wish list of loans including Premiership players who are not featuring much for their clubs.
Only a late move of the goal posts by either party will scupper the deal.
Powell will stay for the foreseeable future but in doing so will need to loan/buy wisely, there is no 5 year plan the Premiership is the aim, getting there depends on what he does with the money given, he has his chance now the chance that a large percentage of Charlton fans wanted him to have, he has to take it though with both hands.
Look forward to January and us playing some decent football at last......we'll have the players for it by then.

A property company, good news. We might see our hoped for move to Grenwich Peninsular and a super new stadium.

Like jack too many heart breaks but this is the first one that's actually in the limelight. Interesting to see in the article it says due diligence has been completed, I wonder if TJ/KC lowered their demands or if they were right to play the waiting game and finally found someone willing to pay what's demanded?...

As far as I can see not a lot has changed from what we knew a week or so ago, half time in Bartram's at the Leeds game the conversation of " due diligence " was everywhere, ( well it was at my end of the bar ) but nobody quite knew who it was, not much changed really. Proving one thing, it's not who you know, but who you know knows....

The amount being paid for the club is under £20m believe it or not and it was not a case of TJ lowering his demands it was KC insisting that the offer was accepted so they could have a parting of the ways. Being unable to continue working together played a biggish part in the amount offered being accepted.

Sounds as though the mercenaries have had their fingers badly burned. That's the risk when you hijack a club that is much loved by its real fans, merely hoping to turn a quick buck.
