I hope they don't get him. It's time for The Scum to be relegated! I don’t suppose we will get him. Now that we’ve made a bid, chances are other Championship clubs will be forced to bid on him as well, and there are a fair few clubs in that division that can outspend us if they wanted to. Langstaff only recently signed a new 3 year contract with County. He’s been made club captain this season and appears to be happy at the club. Having said that, the chance of playing 2 leagues higher on much better wages must be a draw to an ambitious player as he is. If the price is right for County, and a good move for Langstaff, it will happen. Reckon County would want at least £1.5M+ for the player, and whilst we could afford that, if if goes to a bidding war (and another club can offer better personal terms), we would probably lose out. Whatever money he goes for (if he goes) it’s still a massive risk asking a player who’s never played above league 2 before, to move up two divisions and recreate his previous scoring prowess in the Championship. Sorry to disappoint you DFT, but with Harris at the helm I very much doubt we’ll be in a relegation battle this season. If we add quality to the squad this summer we might finish better than last season, and with a few more quality players next summer, we might be able to manage an attack on the play offs the following season. That’s why it’s so imperative that Charlton get promoted next season, as taking 6 points off of you will help us enormously in our bid to reach the play offs.  |

Haven’t a Scooby mate. I’ve not heard any rumours at all. Wrexham seem to be after a couple of our players - Striker Tom Bradshaw and CB Wes Harding on permanents and by all accounts they are interested in Ryan Longman (who was on loan to us last season from Hull). We’re interested in Longman too (and the player has said he’d like to join us permanently) but it all depends how much Hull want for him. |
