Nj confirms leaburn to play for u21s tomorrow away to Watford Will be interesting to learn how many minutes plus how he plays. No understanding of the detail of how this all works, but we can all picture Miles on the First Team bench sooner rather than later.

Many thanks for the link. So fingers crossed that his hour for the U21s goes well and then he's on the bench vs Stevenage!

Fingers crossed that I am wrong, but In have felt from the beginning that Miles looks injury prone.

We have better staff now who communicate with Nathan Jones how to manage these players, as he has done with Chuks Aneke. Whilst the latter has not been playing full games, he also hasn't picked up any new injuries.
Whilst there are always going to be players picking up injuries, it will be good if this can now be reduced.

Great to have a fully fit squad to pick from, is this down to current good luck with injuries………or the Will Abbot influence keeping the players in the best condition….……🤔🤔🤔……or more likely a bit of both…….👍

Part of the "good management" of our club i.e. hiring Will Abbot exactly for this reason, especially as they knew it was a problem.

These next six games will tell us how we match up against the competition, and how we will set out with Leaburn playing again. Let's not forget Appleton's first 15 games this time last year, when he had both Miles and Chuks available.

We may well have had Miles and Chucks available……...but we also had TT and Hector as our defensive guardians…… 2 keepers that hardly made any saves yet let in 2-3 goals a game…..and a midfield of Dobson doing his very best to cover up all the glaring cracks…….

Fingers crossed that I am wrong, but In have felt from the beginning that Miles looks injury prone. He was having growing pains and then was subject to that horrific challenge by that muppet in the Welling side. The torn hamstring was largely due to being rushed back because we were desperate for him. Hoping now he is being treated properly, starting full first team training again, he can get a decent run of games.

Got ticket for chelsea u21 match on Oct 29th. Any reason why? Why not just pay on the night?

As Mile’s didn’t play at the weekend, presumably he might make a few appearances for the u21’s before our next game?

It’s why I agree with Louis Mendez etc who are saying he’s a long way off from playing first team.

He came on as sub against Bristol Rovers but I guess his minutes are being managed, and 4 days later was too soon for another game.

He's back now on the bench, and ideally ready to start before too long. No coincidence that we dominated Stockport once he came on yesterday.
As others have stated, Miles was rushed back last time. This year we have a Director of Performance who will have supervised his rehab and return all the way through.
It will still take time to get fully up to speed - ideally he and the side will be in a very good place in November?

Whilst I agree with everything you say I think the reason why the Director of Performance is taking such an interest is because a fit Leaburn is a very saleable player with a big bunce coming in. How is the same Director of Performance getting on with Aneke who got injured whilst training?

The club have just one transfer window to sell Leaburn so I suspect that he will play 90 minutes less than half a dozen times before he is sold.

Some players (and their agents) choose to run down their contracts- Bauer and Aribo did back in 2018/19. Others agree a sale. Whilst a third type of young player agrees a new deal, with an agreed buy out clause so that they retain control. It's unlikely he will stay unless the club really want it AND show real ambition to secure promotion. Enough to convince player, agent and parents that CAFC is the right choice. Given the value of a three or four year contract in the Championship, who would bet on Miles wearing our shirt next August?

Given the value of a three or four year contract in the Championship, who would bet on Miles wearing our shirt next August? I think that Aribo, or his Agent, was a little deceitful when he was very coming to the end of his contract. I think he was, always, going to leave but kept that to himself. Bauer made no secret of his desire to go and, to his credit, Duchâtelet refused to sell him and he played a large part in us getting promoted. Methven has been rather outspoken about the need to sell players to maximise income. He has been very critical of Liverpool not selling Virgil van Dyke, for example. If he believes that a club like Liverpool should sell their very best players to not lose out on transfer income then I can’t see any scenario where we keep Miles until the summer in the hope that he agrees to stay. It’s a shame because there is something special about having the son of a past hero playing for us - and he is a game changer. However, despite Burstow’s lack of progress his bank balance has changed his life, forever. It’s difficult to turn down a, potentially, life changing opportunity, financially, especially for a young man that has missed the best part of two seasons with injury. A four year deal on, say, £15k a week and he is set up for life. If it doesn’t work out he will be allowed to move down the league, but will not have to take a pay cut. It would be difficult to justify recommending that Miles signs a new contract with us, unless the club offer him something like that and I don’t think we can, or should, be paying a player that kind of money.
