Yeah clarkson being strongly linked on FB. Apparently revealed by Jim Rodwell while having a beer down the pub. Proper rumour that 😂 he’s got a long term injury, so can’t see that personally hahah

Thought i'd put up the customary video before Cawley rules it out!!
Just to dd though, whether it's bollocks or not he is exactly the type of player to show us how good Ahadme is.
Those little intricate balls into the box are what hold up strikers dream of.

56 day absence of which 19 have already passed since this report. That's around another five weeks on the sidelines. There will be an International weekend in that time too and I think we have three players who will get called up so that will be a game that gets postponed.

Got to the bottom of this now. There is a Leighton that we are looking to bring in from Aberdeen, only it's 66 year-old former keeper Jim Leighton who we are looking at as back up to Mannion!

You can't possibly believe a word they say on that Charlton facebook page.
Believe it or not somebody posted this earlier today:
Mike Dixon Agree totally. Which makes decision to sell May even worse. As I wrote on Charlton Life we need to score another 15 goals this season to make the play offs. On current evidence no chance of this.
I replied.......
11m Reply Paul May Mike Dixon Why do we need to score 15 more goals this season to make the play-offs? We could score 15 less but end up with 20 more points! I'm not getting you logic.

I'd love to sign him (and we could get him a work permit via our remaining ESC slot since Hungary are ranked in the top 50 in FIFA so he only needs to have played one senior international game - he's played three - rather than the 5+ Dixon from non-top 50 Jamaica needed) but... - He's 22 and has broken into the senior squad of a major (#30-ish in FIFA) international team. - He's the captain of one of the teams battling for the Hungarian top division title (they were top, now second). - The likes of Southampton and Rangers have been sniffing around. - The transfer fee is expected to be in the region of £1.5m. I can tell you now that if Charlton do somehow sign Kata it would be the signing of the summer across the whole of L1. There's no way I can see it happening tbh. I reckon our midfield signing will be one of the Port Vale lads: Ben Garrity or Ethan Chislett (each of whom PV fans reckon will cost a more feasible 300k-ish).

So he obviously hasn’t got a better offer/ wages elsewhere……🤣🤣 I would personally stick with Mannion and bring in a couple of game changers further up the field Was any rumours of Fleck or Bradshaw mentioned at all mate? Bradshaw played and scored yesterday, even if we could tempt him over Wrexham somehow are Millwall likely to let him go? You don’t want or need Bradshaw in your first 11. Whenever he has played for us, it’s been as the lone striker up front. That wouldn’t be a problem if he was a 6’ 2 lump of a striker, but he’s not. He’s 5’ 8 and no Wall fans can understand why our gk and defenders keep pumping long balls up to him, which he never wins against taller opposition defenders. It seems, from reading your match day reports, that you’re playing a more direct style of football this season. If Nathan Jones was to sign Bradshaw and play him up front as a lone striker, then Charlton supporters will be just as frustrated with him as we were, because the end result will be exactly the same. If Jones wants to play him alongside a taller striker, then that would work better because he would have someone beside him to knock the balls down to him. Having said that, Bradshaw seems to miss more than he scores, and last season (even though he was out with an injury), he only scored 4 goals for the whole season. Bradshaw is a trier and a good presser, but unfortunately not a prolific goal scorer. He’s 32 now, and it’s possible he could do a job for a league 1 team, but not up front on his own. It’s just been announced that we’ve completed the signing of the Reading player Femi Azeez on a permanent deal. Can any Charlton fan on here tell me how he played against your lot, home and away last season? I’ve seen his YouTube showreel but those sort of things usually flatter to deceive, so any insights into how he was against you would be great to hear. Thanks.

He would be great signing but not the best the league has seen this summer.. I think Birmingham have put an end to that debate. I don't agree at all. Marc Leonard (who Brum got) was regarded as the best DM in L1 last season but I think Kata will trump him. As for the randoms Birmingham have signed from Europe, do we really know how good they might be in L1? OK, I agree the same applies to Kata. All of that said, as things currently stand we're challenging for top two whilst Birmingham aren't even in a playoff spot. Don't buy into the hype of Brum buying the league. The pricks are gonna crash and burn imho.

Leicester City won the Premier League on half the budget of the big five and with no so called superstars in their squad.

One of the better midfielders in L1 last season too. I mentioned Wiredu which wasn't knocked back totally, it's just that the response I got was a 'ball carrier who gets up the pitch". BB you could save yourself alot of time by reading before you post.

Is this midfielder a creative/attacking minded player? Bit of everything but likes getting up the pitch in an attacking role. They won't give a name but I've thrown a few at them like Wiredu, Ethan Chislett and Charlie Savage but I can't crack the code. I suppose if they name names knowing it will end up on forums it could be seen as disrespectful to those we are trying to offload. Fraser had a move lined up but it didn't happen. I think he will go to an English club on loan, possibly back to MK Don's or Burton, his former clubs.

If we're not able to pull the trigger yet, due to outgoing prerequisites, then we are likely trying very hard not to leak the name in case anyone else would be interested and look to swoop in with their own deal.

Funny you mention Lewis Wing because I would love it to be his Reading team mate Harvey Knibbs who can play as an attacking midfielder (Centre, Left, Right) and up front.
What more could you ask for than having the flexibility to play anywhere in midfield or in attack.
Perfect cover for injury but plenty good enough to start.
