Were you on the moon for the entire 2023/24 season? Here's the list: Isted Edun Taylor (From what we've seen so far) Coventry Ladapo Bakinson Forini Tedic Abankwah McGrandles I may even have missed a few. Isted was a good keeper his performance for Barnsley especially at Wembley one of best seen .. Taylor and Coventry are key players .. Coventry today along with Doc and Berry was impressive , he done his job break up play give the simple ball , he allowed Doc and Berry to push forward and link up with the strikers …. Players like Edun and Ladapo remember fans were desperate on here to sign them and his good they were going to be .. McGrandles was just unlucky there a player there has Cambridge saw and we did when he played finally last season Isted was or is not a good keeper, Jones didn’t rate him hence he is now off to Burton, a very large proportion of the fan base including myself clearly didn’t rate him….yet you rate him, fair enough…. Coventry was far from impressive today, I still think he has what it takes to be successful with us but on today’s performance I would have thought it would have given Jones food for thought…whether that be in the recruitment side of things or maybe giving Terry Taylor a start agains Pompey……

And Derby lost at Shrewsbury Just proves what these results really mean to these clubs absolutely nothing .there pre season training games that’s why they should all be played behind closed doors and will have no bearing on the league games played on the first day If they have no meaning, how does a manager or coach know which players to start the season with. He said it in his reply, the results have no meaning, I agree

My shout would be Kasey Palmer. I still like Jamie Reid but despite being a good goalscorer he is 30 and didn't play anyway. I would certainly say we are looking at a Coventry player as opposed to a Stevenage one. A Godden recommendation perhaps?

Was basically stolen from us by Chelsea under the abortion that is the EPPP. We lost to Chelsea in a F.A. Youth Cup game, 3-2, after being 2-0 up, and Casey Palmer ran the game. He was gone the next day. (Scott Parker anyone? Only in that case, we at least got a decent price for him...) Charlton don't need any recommendations to know how good Casey Palmer is...

We have no chance of getting Kasey Palmer. Why would he want to come to us. I think this is just pie in the sky.

He said it in his reply, the results have no meaning, I agree I also agree results in pre season friendlies don't mean anything but individual and team performances do. We played well against Palace but by all accounts yesterday was a massive step backwards. We now only have one game to address the situation and I should imagine Jones is far from happy particularly as he now seems restricted by the lack of outgoings before more, much needed, incomings can get through the door.

Only looking at Potts and that's it in terms of defensive additions.
Bradley has played in most of Derby's pre-season games and been captain.
That said he wasn't involved at all for them at Shrewsbury yesterday but that might be because Chesterfield's strikers gave Derby's two CB's the runaround in a 4-0 win last week. Didn't look much better than we already have based on teh highlights below but we do need a l;eader at the back whether that be him or Potts.
Their manager wants to sign a 9, 10 and a CB so we'll see what happens.

It was the first time I’d heard that Cat 1 academies had priority over so called lesser academies

If you read the full post a question was asked who might Andy Scott be looking at when he attended the Stevenage v Coventry game. 'A player of interest' he said so the question raised was who do we think that might be and I guessed Palmer. Might be right but most probably wrong but he's set to leave Coventry so who knows?

I think people maybe have read in to Scott being at the game too much.. im sure we are looking at most of the teams in our league where possible to understand how they are shaping up for the season. Might not have been scouting a player but more the team in Stevenage.. just a thought as everyone has jumped down the Kasey Palmer rabbit hole.
For me, KP would be a mistake, quality there for sure but has had a pretty consistent injury record over his career - more of the same for us.. we need a durable creative midfielder who can break the lines and score goals. Hopefully berry is that, but without him we have no options in that role.

Almost like buying a raffle ticket it, nothing serious there was 30 players to choose from and I selected him. That's the problem with this place sometimes, if you say a name then he must be signing!!

Sheff Weds prepared to offload our former striker Michael Smith which we may or may not have an interest in.
Personally I prefer Matt Smith who scored 40 in 95 games for Salford over the last two seasons. That's Alfie territory!!
Being serious he might be 35 but he guarantees you goals and he is a free agent. Has to be worth a one-year deal surely. Superb in the air and not bad on the deck for a big striker either.
A real physical presence who worries the life out of defenders at set pieces.

I believe Warne is contemplating using Blackett-Taylor as a wing back?
Take it from me he hates chasing back and can't defend.
That little arrangement would be a disaster for you!

Manchester United are reportedly set to appoint Dan Ashworth’s protege Michael Appleton in a new role, with the former Charlton boss on the verge of returning to Old Trafford as the Red Devils’ new loans manager.

He can play there and would be a great outlet in games when derby are sitting in mind block. There of course are negatives of having him play there he defensively he not good enough and could mean derby left hand side gets overloaded or left cent back will get isolated against the winger. But it just depends on what Paul Warne is willing to sacrifice defensively for he's team to be better going forward. It would definitely help having a good left side cent back that is comfortable defending out wide and is good in one on one situations.

People just seem to throw names out there in hope can Matt Smith lead the press? Michael Smith worked with Jones in are academy but he's on a big wage.

Before you blame Scott, please identify the dead wood Scott brought in. Aneke, AMB and Fraser were all cheered from the rafters when signed and he didn't bring them to the club. Were you on the moon for the entire 2023/24 season? Here's the list: Edun Taylor (From what we've seen so far) Coventry Ladapo Bakinson Forini Tedic Abankwah McGrandles I may even have missed a few. Let’s not forget the shambles January in the season before aswell Reams 😂 Bonne, Penney, Todd Kane, Kilkenny…

If Joe Taylor is up for grabs and we don’t get him I’d be very disappointed given the NJ Luton connection. Real quality player who should be playing champ football this season

Let’s not forget the shambles January in the season before aswell Reams 😂 Bonne, Penney, Todd Kane, Kilkenny… McGrandles came 2 years ago. A lot of the rest were loans and panics due to taking over on 23 July after 9 weeks of little activity. May was signed, it was said , on sponsor's money as good old useless Thomas wouldn't pay and the new crew hadn't taken over. Terry Taylor is a sound player. Saw him against 3 times and he was good. Unfortunately he was recovering from an injury when he came and got another one quickly. Much like McGrandles who was better than we saw and had the same history . Just like Fraser when he came, Todd Kane when he came, Aneke , Wollacott, the poor sod we took from West Ham after he was on loan at Coventry and got injured playing for them at the Valley in 2017. He then got injured again for us twice when he came here. The others, Bonne a late desperation signing who scores against us at will ! And Penny who was a rubbish replacement for Kane. Kilkenny came recommended. As what I am not sure. Isted had done OK at Barnsley 2 months before he came here. Everyone wanted Pompey player of the year MacGillivray. He was less than adequate as it turned out. Could that be our awful defence or the rubbish midfield that couldn't press. Our mf has been poor for ages before Scott arrived Our own Leaburn is seemingly flaky but nobody wants ts to blame that on Scott.. Now Adhame seems disposed to injuries and everyone wanted him. I wanted Etete. Coventry had a good pedigree in a decent team, Whammies but here has struggled to show that. Yesterday he carried the ball 40 yds and muffed the shot. He needs to do that more. My point is that there are two many decendants of the old hags sitting next to La Madame Guilotine crying off with his head when much of it wasn't Scott signing them or the circumstances at the time were plain crap Given the circumstances and given how much crap was signed before in Ben Watson, the other Forest waste of space on 40k a week, Jaiyesimi who everyone wanted, Gunter who was always played out of position, Innis who was better than most of those above why does everyone always blame Scott. In the last window we got Gillesphey who was carrying an injury REG Ramsay Small Coventry. Scott had a hand in those. Now Jones has a say and we still have a poor mf that doesn't create too much. Was Edun injured when he came here too?
