Don't see why. He left Portsmouth upon the end of his contract at the end of the season, despite having been offered a new three-year deal and went to Colcehster which I found odd. Can't be arsed looking but were Mingi and Weirdu youth team players when Nathan was our Youth development officer? Seems odd that we are being linked with former academy products so just wondered if they were from when he was with us previously? Mingi came in towards the end of the Season on trial from West Ham. I think it was after Jones left. We played him at CentreHalf and he was awful. Wiredu was in the Academy when Jones was Academy Coach

it is a while since we have had a dynamic attacking midfielder who could put in good passes and score a few goals, Dobbo was not that man but it is a player that we need. Since CBT departed the only attacking source has been Small or a long ball down the middle, too early to discuss Ramsay although he looked promising. I leave it to th rest of you to suggest that player but that is what we really need in the attacking half of the field.

Dan Kemp is younger, out of contract and comes from Sidcup. Kemp would be my preference for an AM from L2.

Both have very impressive recent records…….Why do you think Kemp would be your preference?…..ability or the fact there is no fee involved……Are we sure we not going to be paying fees this summer?

Both have very impressive recent records…….Why do you think Kemp would be your preference?…..ability or the fact there is no fee involved……Are we sure we not going to be paying fees this summer? I think most early business will be free agents (before someone else picks them up) so would prioritise Kemp over Keillor-Dunn as Plan A at this stage. Also other roles (eg striker and organising centre back) generally require a fee more than midfield roles at this level, so would rather save the 'warchest' for those if possible. Kemp being a local lad who came through West Ham's academy with Coventry are also plus points for me. His record at Swindon this season (14 goals and 8 assists in 23 league games) was outstanding. Indeed, Swindon fans have just voted him their player of the season despite him being a loanee recalled in January. His goals/assists dropped off when recalled by MK largely as they have played him further back (preferring Jack Payne in the advanced role!). The only point against Kemp is his height (5'6" according to Wiki). Folk on CL seem to think NJ only wants to sign taller players. That might be because the CL 'genuises' misunderstand what NJ means by 'athletic'. There's nothing in his past transfer dealing that suggests such heightism (and NJ is only 5'7" himself)! For me AM (as an on the ground linkman when not hoofing the ball) is the perfect role for an 'ankle-biter'. We shall see, but Walton, Berry and Kemp are my current wishlist for early free agent deals - fixing our GK and creative midfield issues early doors without paying transfer fees would be awesome!

Every season we are interested in Jay Mingi. I am kinda hoping we are going for the standard of the likes of Keillor-Dunne or Brannigan rather than the likes of Mingi………. Will be interesting to see if the club is prepared to pay fees for players or just try and get the best frees available…… Would be interesting to see the best value frees available in the championship…….a request for our stattos on this forum? 😀 Brannagan is allegedly on £14k per week and would take a 7 figure fee. He has a chance of promotion with Oxford, failing that Bristol City would probably be after him again like they were in the January window. Unfortunately I don't think the 'Nathan Jones' pull would be that great to entice him.

Phil Parkinson has said L1 has a 22 man squad limit. Can you add U21's or debutants etc to this number? Otherwise lots of our players will be going out on loan and any new signings will need to have some flexibility in the roles they can play. I have a vague recolection that this question has been raised before but I can't recall the answer. Thanks.

No club in L1 has ever come close to breaching that limit. Wrexham dummies have clearly only just noticed it exists!

In talks with a striker that's all I know. Matt godden ? Possibly but he's not who I am referring to. This one doesn't play in England and that's all I'm saying.

Who is the young fella from Jamaica whose club we have joined together with 👀 24 year old in Italy. If you are thinking of Trivante Stewart, he hasn't jut it at Salernitana and as a result they loaned him to Serbian club Javor where he has managed two goals in 14 games. Pointless link up really with Mount Pleasant Academy especially when their best player of two seasons ago has really struggled outside of Jamaican football.

Great excuse for Charlton employees to spend six weeks a year in the Caribbean though!

Kion Etete, plays 50% of his games in Wales……..🤣🤣 Pretty sure we were after him last season, was a perfect foil for Alfie at Cheltenham…..maybe also an Alfie recommendation Just my guess……Big unit up top which I think NJ wants, ticks all the boxes for me……👍 Dubai Addick on the other site saying we are very close to signing a forward, my money is on him….

Averages less than 5 goals a season? I'm not getting excited by this if it is him.

The striker I mentioned last night is said to be pretty close to signing. Won't name him but despite not being at an English club, he won't have far to come.
