Edit: The cynic in me is waiting for the announcement of Aneke out for the rest of the season..

Back in the day a decent player, but when ever i have seen him recently he looked well off the pace.
Saying that, he can't be much more off the pace than Ladapo!.

It really is short term as well. Until end of April.
All quite confusing. The fact he's been training a few weeks makes me think it isn't for Aneke (who was fine a few weeks ago). Fine in Aneke terms that is.

Well NJ already said chuks is a different type of human he probably know with Chuks problems, not always physically and maybe mentally he had to get someone in 👍🏻

Not seen anyone post it, but personally I think this is a replacement for Uche Ikpeazu.
Remember we were due to announce said Port Vale target man's signing at the end of Jan (same day as Ladapo with ITKs saying we were getting both) then suddenly it fell through for unexplained reasons.
Clearly we/NJ/Scott/whoever have (rightly) realised we still need someone just like that (a tall target man who doesn't score many but is an outlet for relieving pressure on our defence) and Wickham is the short-term fix for that.
Fair play if so.

The best thing Wickham has done was to take over 60k a week while being injured at Palace. He bleed them dry.

Been training with us for just over a fortnight to stay fit so it makes sense to get him signed up given Ladapo has offered nothing and Aneke is inhured again, probably long term.

Wickham is only 30! Can’t believe that. Obviously on the way down but can’t be any less effective than Ladapo can he?? Different option to what we’ve got. I think we might see him play too!

I'm probably totally wrong but I can't see this is related to Chucks he was OK two weeks ago when Wickham started training with us. Once again impressed with the owners.

Which makes you wonder if we spotted something in his medical (as he reportedly took one before the deal fell through) that was a factor re him getting injured a couple of weeks later. Which again backs up my conviction that Wickham is a replacement for Ikpeazu in terms of Charlton's original transfer window plans. |

Might be completely wrong but think a lot barking up the wrong tree chuks can only do max 30mins a game , now if I was trying to keep a team up I need a striker for 90 so forget Chuks latest injury I would be looking 👀 for a replacement

Maybe NJ just knows we've had lots of injuries and even our back ups need back up.
